Chapter 138: Magma Cave Ant-Man Nest

"Hehehe~ You outsiders are too polite. You helped us defend against the magic beasts before; just based on that, giving you a little Magic Potion is nothing." The Militia said while walking, speaking politely.

Zhu Zhiquan watched him silently from inside the Tricycle's cargo bed, but this Militia continued, "I, Lao Ka, am 34 this year. I joined the Militia Group when I was about your age. See that? That is my military rank."

Zhu Zhiquan looked at his right shoulder, where there was a shoulder patch with a red and blue Taiji symbol.

At this moment, a Militia brought over a jar of Magic Potion. After receiving the Magic Potion, Lao Ka handed it to Zhu Zhiquan, then immediately continued telling his story.

Lao Ka was very talkative, chatting from his childhood memories to his current duties, his face full of pride and smugness.

Halfway there, Zhu Zhiquan saw a White Supply Box blocking the middle of the road, but when the villagers and the Militia passed by, their bodies would pass right through it, and not a single person discovered anything unusual.

When the Tricycle was about to get close to the Material Box, Zhu Zhiquan guessed that the natives likely could not see the Material Boxes distributed by the system, so he said to Lao Ka, "I... I'll switch... switch with the driver."

"Go on, go on. When I have time, I'll tell you how our current village chief got into this position." Lao Ka waved his hand and accelerated to catch up with the team.

When Zhu Zhiquan swapped positions with the Ice Cream Cactus, to prevent the surrounding villagers from gossiping, he had it bring the Material Box into the cargo bed to be opened after Zhao Yuxin finished her research.

Unknowingly, four or five Material Boxes had appeared in the cargo bed, and the surrounding villagers were whispering as they watched the Tricycle that kept stopping to rest.

"Is there something wrong with this horse?"

"I think so. After all, I only see this thing has three wheels; I don't see where the horse's legs are."

"Sigh, maybe this thing is some kind of magic prop!"

"Makes sense."

……………

The noise outside had no effect on Zhao Yuxin's research; on the contrary, it accelerated the speed of her research.

Not long after finishing her research on the spores, she prepared to tell Zhu Zhiquan about her research results, but upon turning around, she saw several Material Boxes piled in the corner.

"Ajiu, you really are something. You want me to open so many Material Boxes, trying to work me to death, right!" Zhao Yuxin grumbled as she opened the Material Boxes.

Just as Zhao Yuxin finished opening the Material Boxes and prepared to count the loot, she felt the Tricycle come to a sudden stop. Originally, Zhao Yuxin thought Zhu Zhiquan had stopped to pick up a Material Box, but the sound of Yage coming from outside made her alert.

Yage: "Everyone, get ready. There is a small Magma Cave Ant-Man nest ahead. Let's conquer this nest together!"

"Azhao, I'm going with the Durian Warrior. You and the Ice Cream Cactus stay here to protect the villagers." Zhu Zhiquan said, jumping off the vehicle to grab the Xuangang Spear from the cargo bed.

Zhao Yuxin took a Magic Core from the Magic Power aggregator and said with a look of defiance, "What? Ajiu, are you looking down on me? Let me tell you, the current me can handle any magic beast with ease!"

Zhu Zhiquan ignored Zhao Yuxin's words, picked up the Xuangang Spear from the corner of the cargo bed, and checked the other equipment on his body.

Seeing Zhu Zhiquan ignore her, Zhao Yuxin crafted a Plant Transport Bag and said to the Durian Warrior, "You don't go. This time, I'm going to let that guy surnamed Zhu see for himself!"

Having said that, Zhao Yuxin put some offensive plants from the cargo bed into the Plant Transport Bag, then Zhao Yuxin and Zhu Zhiquan jumped off the cargo bed together.

At this time, the villagers took the initiative to make way for the Militia preparing for battle, and Zhu Zhiquan held Zhao Yuxin's hand as they arrived at the assembly point of the Militia Group.

At the very front of the team, Yage finished counting all the Militia and took the lead in walking toward the Magma Cave Ant-Man nest.

At the same time, a mage at the very front condensed a soft barrier. Whenever someone passed through this barrier, a thin film would cover that person's body.

After Zhao Yuxin passed through the barrier, she kept hiding behind Zhu Zhiquan, her hands gripping his arm tightly, completely lacking her previous bravado.

Zhu Zhiquan walked in front without speaking, but his eyes glanced at her, and then the two followed the Militia Group forward in silence.

After an unknown amount of time, they arrived at a spacious cavern. Based on the limited mountain pass, Zhao Yuxin discovered that this cavern was very large, estimated to be able to hold a medium-sized cargo ship.

The connection between the passage and the cavern was slightly sloped, and those standing in front could see that the entire cavern was filled with a large number of Magma Cave Ant-Men eating, with piles of dried bones of various magic beasts forming small hills all around.

Some sharp-eyed members of the Militia Group could see human bones in the small hills; it was just unknown which village those unlucky souls had come from.

Among these Magma Cave Ant-Men, one Magma Cave Ant-Man with a physique larger than the others sat in the center, drinking blood from a cup made of a bull's skull; this was likely the leader of this group of Magma Cave Ant-Men.

Yage began to make some hand gestures, and a portion of the capable Militia took the initiative to enter the Ant Swarm. But they did not start a massacre directly in the Ant Swarm; instead, every certain distance, they poured a type of black Magic Potion into the food of these Magma Cave Ant-Men.

Observing from the crowd, Zhao Yuxin discovered that those Magma Cave Ant-Men had no issues after eating the drugged food and were still feasting in place.

Zhao Yuxin looked at the others and found that they were just nervously watching their companions in place. She patted an elderly Militia member beside her, wanting to ask what this was for.

But the Militia around her who noticed her all made shushing gestures, and Zhao Yuxin had no choice but to suppress the question she wanted to ask.

Soon those Militia returned, and Yage nodded slightly after making eye contact with them. These Militia then returned to their own teams.

Before long, some of the Magma Cave Ant-Men suddenly went mad and attacked their own companions. The other Magma Cave Ant-Men did not know what had happened and tried to communicate, but were instead killed by the already-mad Magma Cave Ant-Men.

The tall Magma Cave Ant-Man waved its arms, wanting to call the mage to purify its companions who had fallen into madness. But the Militia responsible for drugging had, to ensure the effect, deliberately drugged the Magma Cave Ant-Men suspected of being mages first.

The tall Magma Cave Ant-Man waved for a long time, only to find that the mages on its side never came out to purify the companions, which left it confused for a moment.

Watching more and more companions suffer senseless casualties because their own people had gone mad, the tall Magma Cave Ant-Man had no choice but to order the killing of the already-mad companions.

In an instant, a huge riot broke out in the Ant Swarm, with countless Magma Cave Ant-Men attacking their former companions. Seeing that the time was ripe, Yage raised his long sword and shouted, "Brothers, for our families, charge!"

"Kill!!!"

All members of the Militia Group launched a charge collectively. Coupled with the influence of the thin film on their bodies, the Magma Cave Ant-Men were completely unable to see their positions, and the sudden shouts of killing threw the rioting Magma Cave Ant-Men into total chaos.

"Heh~" The tall Magma Cave Ant-Man let out a sharp roar and took the lead in charging toward the direction the sound came from. But the Militia Group had the protection of the film granted by the mage, so it couldn't see where the enemies were at all! It could only judge the enemies' positions by sound.

However, the sounds at the scene were chaotic and disorganized. To judge where the enemies were based on sound, unless it had Zhao Yuxin's Bat Wing Ear, it could only guess blindly.

After waving around wildly a few times, the tall Magma Cave Ant-Man was killed by an unknown Militia member. And the other Magma Cave Ant-Men fell into chaos immediately after losing their boss, leading to a large number of stampede incidents.
