Chapter 147: Transcendence: Part Two

By continuously scattering Landmine Pinecones, the group soon shook off the Ant Swarm. They had thought they could safely rendezvous with the villagers, but at this moment, the Militia behind them let out a series of screams.

The group looked back and discovered that the Magma Cave Ant General had caught up again.

Yage had intended to stay behind to cover everyone himself, but Zhu Zhiquan stepped in first to engage the Magma Cave Ant General in battle.

At this time, the two pairs of wings on the Magma Cave Ant General's back had been slashed with numerous gaps and were no longer sufficient to support it in flight, but other than that, it had no other injuries.

This time, Zhu Zhiquan was slightly at a disadvantage in his exchange with the Magma Cave Ant General, but fortunately, there were many Militia members nearby providing support, and he soon fought the Magma Cave Ant General to a draw.

Seeing this, Yage took the majority of the Militia to rendezvous with the villagers first, leaving behind a portion of the Militia skilled in support and control to assist Zhu Zhiquan.

The Magma Cave Ant General knew that without the help of the Ant Swarm, it could not finish everyone off, so it first pretended to be defeated. Once Yage had led the main force far away, its speed suddenly increased, and it killed a Militia member holding a staff.

The group was stunned, then prepared to counterattack the Magma Cave Ant General. But the Magma Cave Ant General reacted extremely quickly, reaching a Militia member in the blink of an eye, preparing to swat them to death.

At this moment, an Arrow with a rope attached hit its arm, and then, pulled by a massive force, the Magma Cave Ant General was dragged so hard it nearly fell over.

The Magma Cave Ant General turned to bite the rope in two, but as soon as it looked up, its body was pierced by a spear. Looking up, it discovered Zhu Zhiquan gripping a Xuangang Spear, staring at it with a ferocious expression.

Although his Xuangang Spear had only pierced the insect shell of the Magma Cave Ant General and failed to cause much damage, a sense of dizziness inexplicably appeared on the Magma Cave Ant General, causing it to miss an action opportunity and be stabbed several times in a row by Zhu Zhiquan.

The Militia members were not idle either; taking advantage of the Magma Cave Ant General being in a dizzy state, they released various skills at it one after another, but unfortunately, their skills could not even break the Magma Cave Ant General's insect shell.

At this moment, the Magma Cave Ant General suddenly let out a loud shout, and a blast of air forced Zhu Zhiquan back, which finally gave the Magma Cave Ant General time to recover, while the dizzy feeling also gradually disappeared.

After Zhu Zhiquan steadied his stance, he used a Charged Slash on the Magma Cave Ant General. The massive force struck the Magma Cave Ant General; although it did not break its insect shell, it still knocked it staggering to the ground.

After landing the blow, Zhu Zhiquan jumped into mid-air and slashed toward the Magma Cave Ant General's head.

The Magma Cave Ant General wanted to roll to dodge, but at this moment, the soil on the ground suddenly crawled onto its palms, restricting its movement.

Just as Zhu Zhiquan's Xuangang Spear was about to fall, the Magma Cave Ant General spat an Energy Ball at Zhu Zhiquan. Unable to change his trajectory in mid-air, Zhu Zhiquan could only hold the Xuangang Spear horizontally in front of him.

Boom!

Crack!

Zhu Zhiquan was blasted into the wall by this strike, and the Xuangang Spear also fell to the ground.

Then, the Magma Cave Ant General used brute force to forcibly break free from the control and blasted a punch through the air at the surrounding Militia, directly taking the lives of three Militia members.

After the Magma Cave Ant General finished this punch, the Magic Power in its body immediately hit bottom. Only then did it realize too late that it had been a bit overconfident, so it turned and ran toward the direction of the temporary camp.

But a blue light orb enveloped it; the Magma Cave Ant General felt its body become exceptionally heavy, and its running speed slowed down involuntarily.

After Zhu Zhiquan got up and saw the Magma Cave Ant General trying to run, he drew his Spirit Valley Longsword and chased after it in a few steps, engaging the Magma Cave Ant General in a tangled fight once more.

"Hahaha~ You're about to reach your limit, aren't you! Outsider, come! I'll add some power for you! Sacred Fire Jade! Rise~" A Militia member shouted as he held up a jade pendant, and then a ball of flame entered Zhu Zhiquan's body.

Instantly, Zhu Zhiquan's strength increased greatly, and with a turning horizontal slash, he hacked the Magma Cave Ant General back several steps.

Subsequently, Zhu Zhiquan grabbed one of the Magma Cave Ant General's arms with his left hand and pulled it backward, while his right hand held the sword and thrust toward the opponent's abdomen.

Sensing the arrival of death, the Magma Cave Ant General flailed its other hand wildly in front of it, which happened to knock aside Zhu Zhiquan's Spirit Valley Longsword, letting the Spirit Valley Longsword graze past its back.

Zhu Zhiquan was startled and wanted to retract the Spirit Valley Longsword, but the Spirit Valley Longsword was too long, and instead, the Magma Cave Ant General seized the opportunity to punch his weapon-holding hand, causing the weapon to fall, and then the Magma Cave Ant General knocked him flying with a shoulder check.

Zhu Zhiquan rolled on the ground to dissipate the impact, but before he could get up, he was subjected to the Magma Cave Ant General's continuous attacks. Fortunately, the surrounding Militia members released their skills in time, which gave Zhu Zhiquan a chance to create distance.

At this moment, there was a sparse sound in the distance; the group turned their heads to look and discovered that the Ant Swarm had caught up.

While everyone's attention was drawn by the Ant Swarm, the Magma Cave Ant General seized the opportunity to charge toward the Ant Swarm.

Zhu Zhiquan wanted to use the Wrist-Mounted Strange Crossbow to kill the Magma Cave Ant General, but at this moment, a sharp pain came from his eyes, and a trail of blood-tears slid from the corner of his eye.

The intense pain made Zhu Zhiquan subconsciously cover his eyes; clearly, the Nightmare Demon Eye had reached its limit.

Watching the Magma Cave Ant General about to break out of the encirclement, the Militia members immediately released their skills to block it. The Magma Cave Ant General revealed a contemptuous smile and leaped into the sky, preparing to use its flight ability to fly out of the attack range.

But it forgot that its wings were already tattered; the broken wings flapped a few times, and one wing drifted off from its body.

Then, a large number of attacks landed on the Magma Cave Ant General, causing it to fall heavily to the ground.

Then, a portion of the Militia was responsible for blocking the Ant Swarm, a portion of the Militia treated Zhu Zhiquan's eyes, and the rest picked up their weapons and headed toward the gaps in the Magma Cave Ant General caused by Zhu Zhiquan's attacks.

"Sss~"

The Magma Cave Ant General was beaten until it grimaced; some weapons were stuck directly in the gaps of the insect shell and could not be pulled out, so the Militia members whose weapons were stuck simply pushed them further in, attempting to kill it completely.

However, a Supernatural Being has extremely tenacious vitality; even after being beaten like this, the Magma Cave Ant General could still kill two people in a counterattack before getting up, then the Magma Cave Ant General quickly killed the surrounding Militia, and then grabbed one person and ate their flesh in large mouthfuls.

Then its Magic Power recovered a portion, and just as the Magma Cave Ant General was preparing to rush out of the encirclement, Zhu Zhiquan's Xuangang Spear arrived a step earlier, which forced the Magma Cave Ant General to fall into a tangled fight with Zhu Zhiquan once again.

"It's no good! We have to go!" An older Militia member shouted as he watched the Ant Swarm closing in.

But Zhu Zhiquan had already killed until his eyes were red, tangled in a fight with the Magma Cave Ant General; that appearance of swearing not to stop until a winner was decided gave people a feeling of having fallen into madness.

The Magma Cave Ant General was the same; every time its breakout failed, it simply decided to fight to the death with the two-legged beast in front of it!

For a time, both sides fought to a stalemate; don't look at how the Magma Cave Ant General was now covered in wounds, with blood constantly dripping onto the ground, but every attack could still make Zhu Zhiquan's hands go numb.

Looking at the Magma Cave Ant General in this state, as well as the headstrong Zhu Zhiquan, the Militia members calculated the speed of the Ant Swarm, then looked at each other and continued to block the Ant Swarm's movement speed.

In the end, Zhu Zhiquan successfully killed the Magma Cave Ant General using the Wrist-Mounted Strange Crossbow, while a piece of flesh was missing from his own thigh. After performing a Soul Sacrifice on the Magma Cave Ant General, he was dragged away by the Militia members to retreat.

Only, he did not notice that a Transcendental Profession had been added to his attribute panel.
