Chapter 188: Caught in an Ambush and Counterattacking (Part 1)

The players followed the Jiading Cheng army to pursue the Magma Cave ant-men; seeing their side's massive advantage, many players began posting their opinions on the World Channel.

Duyan Chuanzhang: "Hahaha~ These ants are simply too weak! They couldn't hold back once the native army arrived; I think we'll reach the surface soon!"

Huakui Mei Bu Mei: "Well said, I was almost killed by those ants just now. Luckily these natives arrived, otherwise I would definitely have been eaten by these ants!"

Xihai Langzi: "Everyone, I see these natives seem to be killing each other; does anyone know the reason?"

Fengsha Tuan CEO: "@Xihai Langzi, those people are controlled by the Magma Cave ant-men. The natives have to wipe them out in order to exterminate the Magma Cave ant-men."

Xihai Langzi: "@Fengsha Tuan CEO, thanks for the clarification, upstairs."

Huahua: "Speaking of which, how many Cores does this giant nest have in total? If we don't make it in time, we might get trapped to death!"

………………

After entering the full-scale pursuit phase, Zhao Yuxin swapped positions with Zhu Zhiquan, letting him take charge of driving the Tricycle while she and Xuebao played chess in the carriage.

Of course, Xuebao was mostly just an intelligent plant born not long ago, and Zhao Yuxin was the one who taught Xuebao the specific rules.

Xuebao bit its finger, looking at the layout on the chessboard, its mind wondering how nice it would be if these chess pieces were replaced with ice cream? That way it could satisfy its cravings.

As it thought, Xuebao's milk-like drool dripped down its arm onto the chessboard. Zhao Yuxin picked up a cloth, wiped it clean, and then took out a notebook to record data on Xuebao—or rather, the ice cream cactus plant.

However, if its thoughts were known by Zhao Yuxin, it would likely be scolded by Zhao Yuxin again.

While Xuebao was still thinking about the next move, Zhao Yuxin opened the World Channel directly to watch the players' discussions.

Soon, Zhao Yuxin leaned on the rear window, her tone somewhat coquettish: "Ajiu, some players on the World Channel are saying there are hundreds of Cores in the giant nest; do you think it's true?"

Zhu Zhiquan shook his head silently, just focusing on driving his vehicle.

"Ugh~ You blockhead! I'm ignoring you!" Zhao Yuxin sat back down in front of Xuebao resentfully, pretending to play chess with it.

Zhu Zhiquan: "(′? _? `)"

At this moment, not only the players, but also the generals and soldiers of Jiading Cheng all felt that they could destroy this nest this time. The Magma Cave ant-man General in mid-air looked back at its prey, its antennae shaking so fast only afterimages remained.

Yet no one noticed that there was a tiny crack in the surrounding space; it was just that these were arranged loosely above and each was very far apart, plus there was no light in the nest, leading to no one noticing this problem.

Everyone continued the pursuit, and at this time the ground began to tremble; everyone thought it was just an earthquake and that no problems would arise, so they didn't take it to heart.

It wasn't until everyone saw stone pillars rising all around with the help of vehicle lights that they stopped their pursuit and began to wonder what these stone pillars were for.

"Not good! It's a Magnetic Martial Array! Retreat! Quickly!" Ma Lailaiyin immediately recognized the Array and commanded the army to run out in horror.

But at this moment, the Magma Cave ant-man General snapped its fingers, and the surrounding cracks suddenly split open, with a large group of Magma Cave ant-men crawling out from within; this time, the players and the Jiading Cheng army, who had originally held the upper hand, were instead surrounded.

Seeing they were surrounded, the players immediately panicked, driving their Tricycles toward the perimeter, and many even crashed into the formation of the Jiading Cheng soldiers.

Some Player Group Regiment Leaders even led their subordinates to fire wantonly for the sake of survival, just to break out of the encirclement sooner.

Seeing these players like headless flies, Bu Nazha immediately released his pressure, suppressing all those panicked players; even the low-level Tricycles among them stalled, and the high-level Tricycles were held down firmly by other generals.

At the same time, other generals commanded the soldiers to set up a battle formation, preparing to meet the attack of the Magma Cave ant-men.

After all the stone pillars constructing the Magnetic Martial Array rose, each stone pillar emitted a dazzling magnetic field; as long as the Magma Cave ant-man General waved once, these magnetic fields would lash out like whips at the Jiading Cheng army and the players.

The five Magma Generals saw that the Magic Array was complete and immediately flew toward the Jiading Cheng army, taking the lead for their own camp.

The Magma Cave ant-men also launched a charge one after another, their massive impact force slamming into the shields of the sword-and-shield soldiers, causing the sword-and-shield soldiers' veins to bulge. The Changqiangbing in the rear also waited for an opportunity to counterattack, killing the charging Magma Cave ant-men.

Then the ant-man mages and various siege ants appeared; these siege ants included flying ones, acid-spitting ones, tunnel-digging ones... cooperating with the ant-man mages to attack the battle formation composed of Jiading Cheng soldiers.

"Disrupt~" Following an order from Ma Lailaiyin, the Jiading Cheng mages released a purple-blue gas toward the Ant Swarm; after this gas came into contact with the low-level Magma Cave ant-men, chaos broke out within the Ant Swarm.

For a time, the Ant Swarm saw large-scale scenes of Magma Cave ant-men killing each other, and then the Jiading Cheng clerics applied buff effects to their own mages.

Immediately, the mages, without needing Ma Lailaiyin's command, stirred up a strong wind in the nest on their own, spreading the aura released by the disruption skill further.

Some ant-man mages who couldn't react in time were affected by the aura and also fell into chaos within the Ant Swarm.

Forced, higher-level ant-man mages—ant-man wizards—came forward, first condensing a barrier on their own side to block the aura, then the ant-man wizards chanted spells, wrapping the aura in a bubble and converting it into a blue liquid.

Subsequently, the bubble rose into mid-air and exploded, and the liquid inside the bubble drifted in the air, causing a large number of low-level Magma Cave ant-men to sober up.

But at this time, a large number of ice cones fell into the Ant Swarm, smashing countless Magma Cave ant-men to death.

The five Magma Generals wanted to crush the Jiading Cheng battle formation head-on, but not to mention the Jiading Cheng generals, even the soldiers forming the battle formation were difficult to deal with now.

Rumble~

The Magma Cave ant-man General controlled the Magnetic Martial Array to attack the opponent's battle formation; wherever the whip formed by the magnetic field reached, it would inevitably kick up a large pile of wreckage of players and soldiers.

At this time, Ma Lailaiyin held up a command token and ordered: "Nabu'er, Suoluosuo, set up the formation!"

"As you command, City Lord!"

A man and a woman stood out; they were Nabu'er and Suoluosuo. In appearance, the two looked like a mother and son, and they flew into the high sky together, waving the command flags in their hands.

Seeing the waving command flags, some Jiading Cheng elites flew into mid-air and began to form an array.

These few seconds of change shocked the surrounding players, and their feet on the accelerators also stalled.

However, while the players were controlled due to the chaos, Zhu Zhiquan had already jumped off the vehicle and arrived at the very front to defend against the Magma Cave ant-men's attack together with the Jiading Cheng soldiers, so no one imposed any restrictions on him.

Zhao Yuxin also jumped out of the carriage at this time and shouted: "Everyone look, this array is not as powerful as everyone thinks, everyone hurry and kill your way out with the natives!"

Hearing Zhao Yuxin's words, the restless players' hearts also slowly calmed down. Soon, a Player Group Regiment Leader shouted: "Hey! Why are you still suppressing us? We want to fight those ants to the death!"

Other members also echoed, and soon the atmosphere spread to other Player Groups first, and then free players also joined in the condemnation; seeing these players had fighting spirit, Bu Nazha also gradually lifted the restrictions.
