Chapter 246: The First Video Conference
Somewhere in the Magic Miasma Jungle, Gelina was darting around above the beast tide like a headless fly.
Just a short while ago, while on her way back to the carriage, she had been intercepted by Plant Monsters; after a bloody battle, Gelina was ultimately forcibly dragged by a group of Bloodthirsty Grass into that massive cloud of Dust, and the voice calling out in her heart grew louder and louder.
Yet Gelina continued to resist, until she was brought before a massive black shadow.
Gelina looked up at this shadow; although it was obscured by Dust as thick as dense fog, it was still impossible to ignore its enormous form.
It was a tall creature with at least four arms, but because the Dust concentration was so high, it was impossible to see exactly what it was.
Behind it, things resembling gauze robes or wings were attached to the creature's body, constantly radiating an aura of benevolence and pressure, making Gelina want to throw herself into its embrace.
Gelina could not understand what this massive thing was trying to do, but she did not want to be controlled by it! She suddenly broke free from the Bloodthirsty Grass's control, turned, and tried to charge out.
But at this moment, a large amount of Dust forcibly drilled into her body through her nostrils, and a wave of intense anger and resentment assaulted her brain, while her body also swelled slightly.
Gelina tried her best to block the emotions invading her brain, wailing in pain as she rolled on the ground, the source of which was the power brought by the Dust.
Logically, this power should not have any side effects on Gelina, whose true form was a flower; the reason it was so painful was that this power was inciting hatred between her and humans.
But Gelina was unwilling to be enemies with humans, because humans held a feeling of kinship for her, so she rejected this power intensely, which made her wail in pain on the ground.
"Come, come~"
"Accept this power and resist those damned humans together!"
"Let them know the price of harming us!"
"No!!!" Gelina finally roared, mobilizing her Magic Power to force the power out of her body bit by bit, but the voice in her mind continued to incite her.
Gelina ignored the voice, focused her attention on clearing all the power from her body, and then sped off in the direction she had come from.
The black shadow behind her did not move at all in the face of Gelina's escape, nor did it order the Plant Monsters to intercept her, letting her flee from here.
Gelina kept running and running in the Dust, until suddenly she saw a large batch of fallen trees ahead, which made her pause.
Immediately, she thought of something and ran even harder to get out of the Dust's coverage. Soon, Gelina saw many animals that hadn't outrun the Dust collapsing within it, their bodies disappearing like fly ash and merging into the Dust.
"I hope everyone is okay." Gelina flapped her wings continuously, accelerating to rush out of the area covered by the Dust.
Along the way, Gelina kept seeing fallen trees, some of which had even caught fire. This left Gelina somewhat confused, but she still rushed toward the Tricycle at top speed.
But the further she went, the more fallen trees there were, and even bursts of fighting sounds came from ahead, while a familiar voice also reached her ears.
"Hahaha~ Come again, come again!!!"
Gelina flew toward the direction the sound came from, only to see Zhu Zhiquan holding the Five-Star Sword, moving back and forth among the trees, occasionally slashing down a Plant Monster or cutting down a tree.
Upon seeing Zhu Zhiquan, Gelina flew straight over to help without a word.
"Flower Whirlblade!" Gelina shouted, spreading her hands, and two flowers the size of a face appeared in her palms; the palm-flowers rotated at high speed, and as she threw her hands, the two flowers flew toward the Vine beneath Zhu Zhiquan and severed it.
Zhu Zhiquan looked back, and after confirming that the newcomer was Gelina, he stepped on the Five-Star Sword and flew in front of her.
The person and the flower looked at each other, then headed together toward the Tricycle along with the beast tide below.
Zhu Zhiquan landed on a turtle-shelled rabbit with Gelina and sent a private message to Zhao Yuxin. Afterward, he turned to look at Gelina, eyeing her with a puzzled look.
Gelina felt a bit embarrassed being stared at like this, and immediately explained: "I... when I went to ch... check the source, I f... found a gi... giant... Dust driving the monsters.
Th... then just as I was about to return, I was... surr... surrounded by Plant Monsters, and after that... I... I escaped... escaped on my own."
Zhu Zhiquan nodded slightly, then said to her: "Keep an eye out for broken branches on the trees; those are the marks left by Azhao."
"Mm~" Gelina responded, turning to be alert for Plant Monsters, only to find that these Plant Monsters were all launching indiscriminate attacks on the beast tide, and she did not know what was going on.
Gelina shook her head and stopped worrying about it, heading toward the Tricycle with Zhu Zhiquan.
Meanwhile, at Zhao Yuxin's location, she had successfully used the Vines of the Hook-Lock Tree Demon to secure the Tricycle onto the back of a giant elephant.
"Come, everyone, come back and rest." Zhao Yuxin threw out the Plant Transport Bag, recalling most of the plants, leaving only the Hook-Lock Tree Demon, Xuebao, and a small number of Combat Plants.
"Mm~" Xuebao leaned against Zhao Yuxin's back, constantly rubbing its nose against her face to act coquettishly toward Zhao Yuxin.
"Good girl~" Zhao Yuxin turned to stroke Xuebao's head, while her Bat Wing Ear also kept constant watch on the sound waves of the plants.
After their battle with the incoming Plant Monsters, Zhao Yuxin had the Hook-Lock Tree Demon fix the Tricycle onto the back of a large monster, so she didn't have to worry about the risk of being rammed in the beast tide, let alone the complex jungle environment.
"I'm so smart!" Watching the monsters fleeing together below, Zhao Yuxin couldn't help but boast.
At this moment, Zhu Zhiquan's message arrived, confirming that Gelina was safe and was now following the marks she had left earlier to find them.
Zhao Yuxin nodded with satisfaction, lay down on the giant elephant's back, and initiated the first video conference in the Player Group Channel; soon, everyone who could connect did so.
She did a rough count and found that every group's members were present; under each member's frame, their name and position were attached, making it easy for everyone to understand each other's identities.
Zhao Yuxin praised this detail in her heart and began to check on everyone's status. Some were in the frame with their teammates, while as for those who didn't participate in the video call, she didn't know.
Zhao Yuxin: "How is everyone? Has anyone been caught in the beast tide?"
Sun Zi: "Neither my wife nor I have encountered the beast tide; it's very safe here."
Gomolaiyin Haken: "We were caught in the beast tide; currently my brother is in charge of driving, and I am responsible for clearing out the monsters about to crash into us."
Lin Ziyao: "Speaking of which, Regiment Leader, should we sell some weapons? I feel that players trapped in the beast tide are in urgent need of such goods."
Zhao Yuxin: "As for weapons, don't be in a hurry; surely many people have thought of this by now..."
Lin Ziyao: "But if we don't sell them now, the profits will be snatched away by others!"
Zhao Yuxin's words were interrupted, and she felt a bit displeased inside, but she didn't flare up and smiled: "I know that; I intend to sell other types of goods."
