Chapter 39: The Immortal Slime Monster
Glug~
Zhao Yuxin and the two female players looked at the slime monster in terror; only Zhu Zhiquan wore an excited expression, and he even drew the Dingtang Sword at his waist, preparing for a fight.
Seeing Zhu Zhiquan acting impulsively, Zhao Yuxin pulled him back toward the two female players. Just as Zhao Yuxin wanted to ask the two for help, the female players had already fled downstairs.
"Fuck you @&$............ Ajiu, let's go! Don't go head-to-head with them!" Zhao Yuxin tugged at Zhu Zhiquan, but Zhu Zhiquan looked eager to try, loosening his joints in preparation to fight the slime monster for three hundred rounds.
Slap!
Zhao Yuxin slapped the back of Zhu Zhiquan's head and dragged him toward the floor below. The slime monster let out an angry roar, and then more slime monsters followed in pursuit of Zhu Zhiquan and the others.
Some smaller slime monsters dropped through the gaps in the railing, landing right in front of the two female players.
The two female players immediately drew their bows and nocked arrows to shoot at the slime monsters in front of them, but the Arrow passing through the slime monsters' bodies seemed to have no effect on them at all.
With no other choice, they could only return to the second floor to rethink their plans. However, Zhao Yuxin, dragging Zhu Zhiquan, happened to run into them. Without any communication, the four of them entered the second-floor production workshop together.
The two female players turned left at a crossroad. Noticing this, Zhao Yuxin pulled Zhu Zhiquan to follow behind them.
After only a few steps, they saw the two female players enter a room and prepare to close the door. The two of them immediately accelerated to enter the room, closed the doors and windows with them, and moved a pile of furniture to block the doors and windows.
Bang! Bang! Bang.........
Creak~
Creak~
The slime monsters kept slamming into the doors and windows, and the three women huddled together, shivering. Zhu Zhiquan carefully observed the surroundings and, after confirming there were no other exits, decided after a brief thought to smash through the floor.
He then activated the Boiling Blood talent, smashing the floor with one punch after another. The three female players watched Zhu Zhiquan pounding the floor, somewhat confused.
Soon, after a large hole was smashed into the floor, Zhu Zhiquan jumped down, deactivated the Boiling Blood talent, and shouted to the floor above: "Azhao, jump down!"
Hearing Zhu Zhiquan's voice, the two female players immediately understood this was a chance to survive. So, the moment Zhao Yuxin stood up, they tripped her and jumped down themselves in turns.
Seeing the two female players falling from the hole, Zhu Zhiquan quickly kicked out twice, sending them flying, then reactivated the Boiling Blood talent and jumped up in one go.
Boom!
Because he hadn't aimed, he slammed into the ceiling, but Zhu Zhiquan still grabbed the opening, then exerted sudden force to return to the second floor and scooped up Zhao Yuxin, who was still getting up.
Patter!!!
Boom!!!
The windows and the main door were smashed one after another. The slime monsters that entered first shot tentacles at Zhu Zhiquan and his companion. Zhu Zhiquan dodged and weaved while holding her, then seized the opportunity to jump down through the hole he had smashed.
In mid-air, Zhu Zhiquan let Zhao Yuxin dangle her legs to cushion the possibility of injury from the fall.
Boom!
The two landed at the same time. Zhu Zhiquan and Zhao Yuxin ran out of the production workshop hand-in-hand and quickly found a place to hide.
Meanwhile, a large group of slime monsters slowly emerged from the production workshop. Some players in other factory buildings saw so many monsters on the street and excitedly came out of their respective buildings to surround and attack these slime monsters.
"Brother, how many points do you think so many monsters are worth?"
"Stop talking nonsense, hurry up and slaughter them!"
The first two players to arrive immediately raised their crossbows and fired at the slime monsters. The Crossbow Bolt hit the slime monsters but only stirred up some ripples in the slime, failing to cause any substantial damage at all.
Sensing the attack, the slime monsters walked toward these two players, and the two players were not only unafraid but actually looked excited.
"Yo, so you're immune to physical damage, huh? Come, let me let you taste this!" One of them condensed a large fireball and threw it at the slime monsters.
Sensing a death threat, the slime monster in the front spat its single eye, which looked like a deep blue gem, into a safe place, while the other slime monsters kept retreating.
Boom!
The large fireball exploded in the middle of the slime monster group. The high temperature instantly evaporated some of the slime monsters, but not a single slime monster's eyeball was affected by the high temperature.
After the explosion, the player who threw the fireball felt very satisfied seeing some of the slime evaporated. But he didn't notice that those eyeballs spat out by the slime monsters, at the cost of shrinking in size, had re-condensed into new slime monsters.
Just as this player was preparing to condense another large fireball, a thin tentacle pierced through his body, and he was immediately dragged away and devoured by the slime monster that had just restored its body.
The other player saw his teammate killed and scrambled to run into a building, but before he had run a few steps, he was grabbed and devoured by the slime monster that had just restored its body.
After devouring two players in succession, the volume of some slime monsters began to recover, and their eyeballs grew larger as well.
The players who saw this scene were all shocked and took to the World Channel to complain.
Zhu Zhiquan and Zhao Yuxin, hiding in the shadows, also saw this. Zhao Yuxin swallowed a mouthful of saliva and muttered in a low voice, "Ajiu, how do you kill this thing? Why is it afraid of nothing?"
Zhu Zhiquan said calmly, "It's a good thing you have a perception talent like Bat Wing Ear; didn't you notice what those slime monsters did before taking the fireball?"
Zhao Yuxin recalled carefully, and her eyes suddenly lit up. "They spat their eyeballs out!" Getting confirmation from Zhu Zhiquan, Zhao Yuxin said excitedly, "Then let's use guerrilla tactics on them now."
Having said that, Zhao Yuxin immediately stood up, but felt a tearing pain in her ankle. Looking down, she discovered that both her and Zhu Zhiquan's feet were red and swollen.
Zhu Zhiquan explained, "Our feet were already strained when we jumped down from the second floor, and with the short-distance running, our feet are almost useless now."
Hearing this, Zhao Yuxin was very panicked. "Then... what should we do? We can't just wait here to die!"
Zhu Zhiquan looked at the panicked Zhao Yuxin, feeling somewhat helpless. "Sigh~ what are you panicking about, girl? Do you still remember the Mole Player teammates you killed and the rules here?
I estimate that when players revive, they revive directly next to their teammates and can recover from all injuries."
"So you mean we should take turns committing suicide? Isn't that too exciting?"
"What else? I'll go first." Having said that, Zhu Zhiquan drew his sword to commit suicide, and was then enveloped by a white light and disappeared.
"Uh... no, brother, are you that direct?" This decisive act took Zhao Yuxin by surprise. "But thinking that I have to commit suicide in a moment, just thinking about it is exciting."
"Your teammate has died; they will revive in ten minutes, please wait patiently."
Zhao Yuxin revealed a pair of eyes to observe the surroundings. After a whole carload of people was wiped out, all players became more vigilant toward these slime monsters; players from each car would only have one person challenge this group of slime monsters.
Although they all ended in failure, as long as their teammates were still there, they could revive infinitely, so they were one by one fearless of death.
By the time Zhu Zhiquan revived, not a single slime monster had been killed; they were just much smaller in volume.
"Azhao, why haven't you committed suicide yet? You aren't afraid to commit suicide, are you? Do you want me to help you?" Zhu Zhiquan looked at Zhao Yuxin, who had the sword held to her own neck but hesitated to act, and asked a soul-searching question.
Zhao Yuxin was indeed afraid to commit suicide, but she didn't want to admit that she was afraid to commit suicide. But not acting for a long time made her look like she was very afraid of death; what way was there to make herself look like she wasn't that afraid of death?
