Chapter 50: Zhu Zhiquan VS Modified Zombie

Zhu Zhiquan threw an empty water bottle to attract the attention of the modified zombie, then activated his Boiling Blood talent and ran in the opposite direction of the bottle, while Zhao Yuxin aimed her Wrist-Mounted Strange Crossbow and fired a bolt at the modified zombie.

Clang!

The Crossbow Bolt struck the modified zombie and emitted a crisp sound; after firing the bolt, Zhao Yuxin immediately hid behind a wall to reload.

The modified zombie did not care about Zhao Yuxin, that bug, but instead kept firing at Zhu Zhiquan.

Rat-tat-tat~

Clang~

Rat-tat-tat~

…………

After Zhao Yuxin fired another Crossbow Bolt, Zhu Zhiquan also realized that the zombie's target was him, and Zhao Yuxin discovered that the zombie was ignoring her, so she drew her Dingtang Sword and pounced on the zombie, slashing repeatedly.

Clang, clang, clang~

The modified zombie felt extreme disgust toward this annoying bug, so it turned and delivered an elbow strike to Zhao Yuxin.

Zhao Yuxin raised her sword to block but was still sent flying; Zhu Zhiquan seized the opportunity, flew in front of the modified zombie, and delivered a flying knee strike.

This modified zombie was knocked down by the sudden attack, and before it could crawl up, Zhu Zhiquan had already slashed at its head with his Dagger Spear.

Snap~

The Dagger Spear snapped on the spot, and Zhu Zhiquan kicked the zombie's head, sending it flying away again.

The modified zombie only felt a burning pain in its body that made it struggle incessantly; this was actually the effect of Zhu Zhiquan's Hell Walker talent.

With red eyes, Zhu Zhiquan drew his Dingtang Sword and slashed at the zombie continuously, beating it so hard it couldn't even crawl up. Under Zhu Zhiquan's continuous slashing, the Dingtang Sword soon retired with honor.

Afterward, Zhu Zhiquan lifted the zombie over his head while kneeling on one knee, then slammed the zombie hard onto his knee, delivering a standard knee-drop slam.

Moreover, this slam knocked some parts off the zombie's body, and after Zhu Zhiquan slammed it three more times, he threw the zombie away hard.

When the zombie hit the ground, a large number of parts fell off; just as the zombie raised its arm to aim the gun barrel in its palm at Zhu Zhiquan, Zhu Zhiquan jumped up and stomped the gun barrel in the zombie's arm until it snapped.

The zombie swung its other arm to strike Zhu Zhiquan, but after Zhu Zhiquan dodged, he kicked the back of its head, and it rolled on the ground several times before stopping.

"Ajiu, go for it! Kill him!" Zhao Yuxin's voice came through, helping Zhu Zhiquan regain some sanity, while also causing the zombie to stand up again.

When it wanted to shoot at Zhu Zhiquan, it was spotted by Zhu Zhiquan and Zhao Yuxin; Zhao Yuxin had intended to warn Zhu Zhiquan, but instead, she performed a slide, arrived behind the zombie, and kicked its crotch.

The modified zombie felt a wave of intense sourness; if it hadn't been punched away by Zhu Zhiquan just then, it definitely would have shot into the sky from the sensation.

Zhu Zhiquan had intended to press the attack, but suddenly he felt a bit dizzy; this situation surprised Zhu Zhiquan, as he hadn't experienced such strong discomfort before.

Helpless, he could only deactivate his Boiling Blood talent and Nightmare Demon Eye, then stepped back and gulped down three bottles of water, pouring another one over his head.

The modified zombie discovered that Zhu Zhiquan's attack had ceased and intended to counterattack, but Zhao Yuxin lit a Molotov Cocktail at this moment and threw it at him.

Snap~

The modified zombie was engulfed in flames, rolling on the ground in pain. After replenishing a large amount of water, Zhu Zhiquan retreated to Zhao Yuxin's side and checked his attributes.

"Ajiu, are you okay?" Zhao Yuxin supported Zhu Zhiquan, but the moment she touched him, her eyes widened. "Ajiu, why are you so hot!?"

Zhu Zhiquan: "Azhao, is there any more water?"

Zhao Yuxin handed a bottle of water to Zhu Zhiquan, who gulped it all down in one go, then panted heavily as he looked at the modified zombie.

At this time, the kerosene that had leaked out after the Molotov Cocktail shattered fell off the zombie, giving the zombie a chance to stand up.

Under the illumination of the firelight, the metal plates on the modified zombie's body shone brightly, with a layer of mucus attached to the surface, and the anger on its face was visible.

Seeing this, disregarding his body temperature issue, Zhu Zhiquan activated the Wrist-Mounted Strange Crossbow on his arm and engaged the zombie in battle again, without using his Boiling Blood talent; the human and the zombie fought from the secret room to the tomb chamber.

The zombies lying in their coffins saw that they had reached a stalemate, and one by one they wanted to crawl out to support their comrade. But just at this moment...

Snap~

A ball of fire engulfed several zombies, and those zombies were burned to ashes by the great fire; the other zombies turned their heads one after another to look at Zhao Yuxin.

She was seen holding a Molotov Cocktail in one hand and a Fire Tinder in the other, pointing at them and shouting: "None of you zombies move! Whoever dares to move, I'll burn them to death!"

Seeing this, all the zombies looked at each other and returned to their coffins to sleep.

At this time, Zhu Zhiquan had been forced against the wall by the modified zombie and kept dodging by turning his body, while the zombie also used continuous turning to whip Zhu Zhiquan with its arm.

Zhao Yuxin felt panicked, and the Wrist-Mounted Strange Crossbow on her arm entered a triggered state. But if she observed carefully, she could see that both forearms of the modified zombie were obviously deformed and had been struck by several bolts.

Just as Zhao Yuxin prepared to fire a bolt, Zhu Zhiquan, after a turn, intercepted the opponent's attack with a rear thrust kick and fired a bolt at the opponent at the same time.

Before the opponent could react, Zhu Zhiquan grabbed its arm and performed a shoulder throw; the modified zombie was thrown into a daze, and when it wanted to get up, it was pinned under Zhu Zhiquan and bombarded with punch after punch.

Eventually, this modified zombie was beaten to death by Zhu Zhiquan; Zhao Yuxin hurried over to help Zhu Zhiquan sit down and gave him all the water in her backpack.

Zhu Zhiquan kept drinking water or pouring it on his head, constantly watching his Health Points, while Zhao Yuxin sat beside him and fanned him with her hand, hoping to cool him down faster.

When Zhu Zhiquan finished the water, the high-temperature damage buff still hadn't disappeared; seeing this, Zhao Yuxin said anxiously: "Ajiu, take off your armor, it will dissipate heat faster."

Zhu Zhiquan shook his head, "No, have you heard of the illness called 'armor-removal wind'? If I take it off now, I might lose my life immediately."

"Alright then." Zhao Yuxin had no choice but to give up on the idea of having Zhu Zhiquan remove his armor.

It wasn't until Zhu Zhiquan's Health Points dropped to 23% that the high-temperature damage buff disappeared. Zhu Zhiquan panted heavily as he stood up and dismantled the modified zombie's corpse.

"Congratulations on dismantling the modified Black Zombie; you have obtained a Yellow Key, nine units of metal, and fifteen units of rotten meat."

Zhu Zhiquan handed the yellow key to Zhao Yuxin, "Azhao, have you discovered any place that requires a key to open?"

"Are you really alright? Don't you dare push yourself and scare me!" Zhao Yuxin asked with a pale face, biting her lip.

Zhu Zhiquan answered while panting heavily, "Don't worry, huff, puff~ I'm fine."

"Alright then, don't move, I'll carry you." Zhao Yuxin took off their Fish Scale Armor, then carried Zhu Zhiquan on her back and shouted toward the secret chamber.

Through sonic detection, Zhao Yuxin found the hidden box and took out a purple-red medicine bottle from inside.
