Chapter 6: Tricycle Upgrade

As the white light dissipated, Zhu Zhiquan and Zhao Yuxin arrived, having been teleported to another location. At the same time, the system prompt sounded: "Congratulations on using Random Displacement."

However, the sound of surging floodwaters from behind reached Zhao Yuxin's ears clearly; Zhao Yuxin still dared not let her guard down and kept pedaling the Tricycle.

Zhu Zhiquan asked curiously, "Can the system use this Random Displacement item in time?"

The system responded quickly: "After this item is used, it will randomly swap positions with a pair of players."

Zhu Zhiquan understood, turned his head, and said to Zhao Yuxin, "Alright, stop pedaling so fast, the Tricycle is going to fall apart."

"You... you have a point." Zhao Yuxin immediately slowed her pace, "Huff, puff~ But, little brother... do you think we might be used for a displacement by someone else?"

Zhu Zhiquan: "Forget about them, and aren't you going to take a break?"

"Huff, puff~ Don't worry, I've got riding a tricycle in this weather down pat! Huff~ Besides, my Bat Wing Ear has strong hearing! Just... let... let me drive a bit longer."

"Sigh, alright."

While talking, they had already started going uphill. Zhao Yuxin's legs began to tremble. Seeing this, Zhu Zhiquan could no longer sit still and scolded, "That's enough, Zhao, let me drive now! Otherwise, your legs will be ruined!"

Zhao Yuxin hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded, gave up the driver's seat, and moved to the carriage. Zhu Zhiquan sat in the driver's seat and pedaled the Tricycle with force.

Rumble~

The thunderstorm was still falling, and although the mountain road was not steep, the mud and sand soaked by the rain made the road difficult to traverse.

Boom, boom, boom~

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble continuously. Zhao Yuxin, in the carriage, leaned on Zhu Zhiquan's shoulder and said, "There's a giant rock ahead, lean to the left to pass through the gap."

Zhu Zhiquan turned the handlebars with force, and the Tricycle moved upward, hugging the cliff on the left.

"A little more to the left!"

Zhu Zhiquan nudged the handlebars gently to the left. At this moment, a giant rock rolled down from above. The speed was so fast that Zhu Zhiquan passed by it without seeing it clearly, and the size of the Tricycle was just right to fit through the gap between the giant rock and the cliff.

"Turn right!"

Zhu Zhiquan immediately turned right, and a giant rock the size of a watermelon grazed the side of the Tricycle as it passed.

"Return to the middle first, then turn right, pass three rocks, then turn left..." With the help of the Bat Wing Ear, Zhao Yuxin directed Zhu Zhiquan to avoid obstacles.

Suddenly, a tricycle zoomed past them, smashing all the giant rocks along the way.

Zhao Yuxin, splattered with mud, cursed loudly, "Who is that, having no manners! Be careful, or I'll curse you to drive off a cliff!"

Who would have thought that just as she finished speaking, the tricycle that had just overtaken them was launched into mid-air by a spring while turning and fell downward.

The owner's screams reached Zhu Zhiquan's ears. After stopping the Tricycle, Zhu Zhiquan asked, "What happened?"

Zhao Yuxin poked her head out from the carriage and said calmly, "That vehicle just now was launched by a spring and fell off! You should pay more attention to the ground; according to the information transmitted by the echoes, there are quite a few traps like this."

Zhu Zhiquan took a deep breath and slowed down as he drove toward the higher ground. It took Zhu Zhiquan and the others five hours to see the summit of the mere hundred-meter-high crevice.

After laboriously climbing the high slope, Zhu Zhiquan vaguely saw three paths in the thunderstorm.

The one on the left was the narrowest, and one would fall if not careful; the middle path was the widest; and on the right path, many Material Boxes could be seen.

Zhu Zhiquan got off to repair the parts of the Tricycle and asked, "Which path should we take?"

Zhao Yuxin said coquettishly, "Call me sister."

"Which path should sister take?"

Zhao Yuxin shouted once, and after carefully listening to the information from the echoes, she said, "Take the narrowest one."

Zhu Zhiquan asked in confusion, "Why not take the middle one or the one with the Material Boxes?"

Zhao Yuxin: "Because the middle one will collapse, and although the right one has Material Boxes, the whole way is full of traps! The left one is the narrowest, but it's made entirely of rock, so there's no need to worry about collapse, and there are no traps."

Zhu Zhiquan: "Then how about we take the Material Boxes?"

Zhao Yuxin: "No, there are traps under all the Material Boxes!"

Zhu Zhiquan: "In that case, we can tie the wood together with Buli or wolf skin to make a stick several meters long, then use this stick to poke the Material Boxes. That way, even if a trap is triggered, it won't be a threat to us."

Zhao Yuxin's eyes lit up, feeling this method was feasible. So, they set to work according to Zhu Zhiquan's method. As Zhao Yuxin finished making the long stick, Zhu Zhiquan also finished repairing the vehicle.

Zhu Zhiquan lay on the ground, carefully approaching a Material Box, and poked the nearest one from a good angle. With a "whoosh," several Arrow projectiles popped out of the ground, nearly hitting Zhu Zhiquan.

Zhu Zhiquan stood up, came to the Material Box, and opened it, obtaining two units of metal and one unit of glass from inside.

Seeing that the method was feasible, Zhu Zhiquan changed his posture to trigger multiple traps in succession to avoid being hurt by projectile-type traps.

Meanwhile, Zhao Yuxin followed slowly behind, laboriously pedaling the Tricycle. Soon, the Tricycle was piled high with various materials.

A moment later, Zhu Zhiquan turned and asked, "Can we upgrade the Tricycle now?"

"Wait a moment." Zhao Yuxin counted the wood and metal, "No, we currently have four units of metal and nineteen units of wood; we still need one more unit of metal and one more unit of wood."

Zhu Zhiquan looked at the Food-Eating Doll and asked, "Have you taken out the materials traded earlier?"

Zhao Yuxin slapped her forehead, "Oh, right! How could I forget this dinosaur doll!" Afterward, she fed the remaining wolf meat to the Food-Eating Doll.

After eating the remaining wolf meat, the Food-Eating Doll looked somewhat disgusted, but still spat out the materials. Among them were metal and wood.

"Wait!" Just as Zhao Yuxin was about to upgrade the Tricycle, she was stopped by Zhu Zhiquan.

Zhao Yuxin: "What's wrong?"

Zhu Zhiquan: "Let's ask the World Channel first what the difference is between v0 and v1. If there's a difference in size between the two, then we'd better not upgrade yet."

Zhao Yuxin felt that what Zhu Zhiquan said made sense and immediately opened the panel. As soon as she entered the World Channel, Zhao Yuxin glanced at the number of people in the upper left corner.

At this time, the number displayed 1832/3000, "It's only been two days, and so many people have died! I wonder if the people who made this game have any conscience!" After complaining, Zhao Yuxin posted Zhu Zhiquan's question.

Mai Shui Da Zhi Lao: "The main difference between v0 and v1 is that there is much less rust, and it is sturdier and faster."

Yangguang Xujie: "Then is there any change in size?"

Huahua: "No."

Yangguang Xujie: "Okay, thank you."

Knowing there would be no change in size, Zhao Yuxin immediately chose to upgrade. A white light flashed, enveloping the Tricycle, and Zhao Yuxin was also placed on the ground by a small puff of white light.
