Chapter 427: Xiao Tan Shan

~4 min read 707 words

After my tireless efforts, I finally explained clearly to this little girl the concept of fresh donkey blood.

Then the little girl left; as she walked away, she kept looking back at me every few steps, her gaze as if she were looking at a madman who had escaped from a mental hospital.

Afterwards, the little girl had the restaurant boss come over. Just when I thought I was unlucky and would have to explain again, the boss merely glanced at me and straightforwardly told someone to go buy donkey blood at the slaughterhouse.

Looking at the boss's appearance, he seems to be a follower of both Dao and Buddhism, wearing a string of sandalwood beads on his hand, and having a natural, refined, scholarly aura.

After hearing I wanted black donkey blood, he without hesitation had the store manager go to the slaughterhouse to buy a donkey.

Later, after chatting, I learned that the boss is not only a Daoist follower, he has an uncle who is an insider in the field, and he spent some time with that uncle, gaining a rudimentary understanding of Daoist matters; although he didn't know what I wanted the black donkey blood for, he subconsciously assumed I was buying it for religious rites.

Regarding that, I didn't explain much, just gave a dry laugh and bought a bag of donkey blood.

To prevent the donkey blood from drying, after buying it I immediately took a taxi back to the guesthouse, poured the donkey blood into a basin, took out the rope I had bought, and soaked it in there.

Afterwards, I went to Pangzi's room, found QingSongShu's Huaguang Seal in QingSongShu's luggage; after the rope had soaked, I took it out and hung it in the hallway to dry.

The next morning, after packing toys, rope, food, and some wilderness survival items, I took my luggage, called a taxi, and set off for Xiao Tan Shan.

This time I went up the mountain alone. Besides Pangzi and Yuan Qiu, I also left Little Fat in the hospital to guard the Dharma for QingSongShu; Pangzi suffered serious injuries, Yuan Qiu lacks magical power, but having Little Fat that strange fellow there makes me feel much more at ease.

The taxi slowly drove to the foot of Xiao Tan Shan; carrying my pack, I got out of the taxi.

Xiao Tan Shan is very ancient; it and Da Tan Shan were originally two small islands, later due to river and sea sedimentation they were connected by a sandbar, forming today's Taipa Island. Because it is famous in Aomen for the Bodhi Chan Monastery, Xiao Tan Shan is also called Bodhi Mountain.

From afar, Xiao Tan Shan looks like a rare earthly paradise, beautiful beyond description.

Undoubtedly, Xiao Tan Shan is what feng shui calls an excellent mountain; houses with their backs to Xiao Tan Shan are not bad.

Of course, don't think that according to feng shui, mountains govern population and water governs wealth, so any house backed by a mountain is a good house and will prosper in population.

If buildings can be built against the mountain, or have a supportive formation behind them, they originally conform to feng shui principles. But if the mountain relied upon is not bright and beautiful, but rather ugly rocks, no grass, or the rear mountain is too steep or too high, then it becomes reliance on a poor mountain, leading to unfavorable career, superiors indifferent, colleagues dislike, forcing one to rely solely on oneself to start from scratch, laboring hard.

Therefore, a house backed by a mountain is not necessarily good; one must examine whether the mountain is poor, strange, or excellent. Strange mountains bring fortune; excellent mountain owners become prominent and population thrives. But if it is a poor mountain, it is a harmful calamity.

After standing a moment at the mountain's base, I, like many visitors coming to Xiao Tan Shan for recreation, began walking up from the foot of the mountain.

During the walk, lush Bodhi trees could be seen everywhere along the path. Of course, these are not true Bodhi trees, merely trees similar to Bodhi trees.

Besides that, the mountainsides are filled with many wild medicinal plants, tangqiuzi, xianhecao.
