First Volume_Chapter 81 Skin Thirst x Evil Ghost x Obsession (5)

For Jiang Zhi, this journey felt like each second was a year.

Finally reaching the living-room sofa, Jiang Zhi's hand just loosened, but her legs went weak; in the blink of an eye, she collapsed onto Lu Yiluo.

Her cheek pressed tightly against the boy's neck, touching his icy skin, her body reacted intensely, and her rose‑like lips let out a low, soft gasp.

The tight white shirt outlined her perfect, enchanting figure, trembling abnormally, and a warm, sweet breath sprayed onto his ear.

Afraid of hurting him when she fell, the woman slightly bent her legs and held a tiptoe posture in mid‑air.

Lu Yiluo, whether intentionally or not, extended his cold, pale fingertip and slid it over her delicate, soft arm, and soon heard her voice trembling with tears.

「Ugh…」

Jiang Zhi bit her tongue, the pain finally pulling her sanity back a little; she stumbled up from the sofa, unaware that her high heel had flipped sideways, she stepped down and fell unprepared onto the soft carpet.

The sharp heel rubbed a hole in her ankle.

「Hiss」

Lu Yiluo heard the sound, half‑propped himself up, and saw the woman sitting sideways on the carpet.

The knee‑length skirt rode up, the black‑stockinged long legs rubbed a tiny gap, and the overly white ankle seeped beads of blood.

She was very pretty, pretty like a display doll on a shelf, every inch meticulously painted.

It made one involuntarily want to dye her black.

Lu Yiluo's sickly pallid complexion took on a hint of red, gaining a bit of color, no longer looking as deathly ill as before.

"There are slippers in the shoe cabinet." His tone gave no hint of emotion.

Jiang Zhi's chest heaved violently, her fingers clenched tight, her condition improved a little; hearing the boy's words, she replied awkwardly and shyly.

She got up from the floor, straightened her skirt, and step by step moved to the shoe cabinet.

She changed into flat slippers, and her feet felt much more comfortable.

"There's a medical kit in the cabinet beside you."

Jiang Zhi wanted to say she didn't need it, but she had already overstepped; using someone else's medical kit would be even more embarrassing.

Lu Yiluo leisurely glanced at her and slowly said, "Bring it to me."

Jiang Zhi had no choice but to take the medical kit from the cabinet, walk to the sofa, and hand it to him.

"Sit down."

Jiang Zhi did as she was told and sat down.

"Stretch out your foot."

Jiang Zhi: "???"

She flailed helplessly, waving her hands in panic, her voice still retaining a hint of softness.

"Young master, I don't need… I don't need you… I can do it myself…"

She hadn't even finished saying the two words when Lu Yiluo's cough cut her off.

"Cough cough cough"

In the vast, silent house it sounded especially clear, arousing worry and dread.

After nearly two minutes, Lu Yiluo's coughing finally subsided; he lifted his dark, deep eyes and locked gazes with her, exuding a suffocating authority.

"Don't you listen to what I say?"

Jiang Zhi's cheeks flushed slightly; her formerly clear, bright dark eyes were now shy and uneasy.

She hesitated for a long while, then slowly extended her injured ankle.

Lu Yiluo opened the medical kit, first disinfecting her with alcohol, then applying ointment.

The boy's cool fingers occasionally brushed the skin around her ankle; she let out a muffled hum, gripped the pillow beneath her on the sofa, lowered her face, and her lovely features grew even more alluring.

Lu Yiluo's movements were practiced, neither rushed nor slow; only after wrapping her ankle in a white bandage did he withdraw his fingers.

Jiang Zhi restrained the urge to follow and press her fingers to his, drew back her somewhat weak legs, her back soaked with sweat, her jet‑black lashes dotted with droplets, trembling on the verge of falling.

Lu Yiluo's gaze traced her face carefully, finally lingering on her rosy lips; his dark eyes flickered with a mysterious hue.

They had lunch at noon.

The boy had her eat at the same table, which surprised not only the servant bringing the dishes but also herself.

"Young… young master, I can go out to eat."

Lu Yiluo gave the servant standing by the table a faint, sideways glance.

The servant met his gaze, her chest tightened sharply, and she hurriedly turned and retreated.

Only the two of them remained in the room.

"You should listen to me."

It was not a question, but an unquestionable command.

Jiang Zhi pressed her lips together; the pain in her ankle constantly reminded her to remember the butler's words.

But Lu Yiluo's words, she also had to obey.

In the end she still sat at the table.

Lu Yiluo usually ate only a few bites, but this time he ate half a bowl.

He finished early, leaving Jiang Zhi alone facing a table of dishes.

By the time she was full, the meal had lasted nearly an hour.

Throughout, she could feel the boy watching her eat; at first she was a bit embarrassed, but later she simply relaxed.

She rose, intending to put the empty plates outside for the servant to collect.

"Come over." Lu Yiluo's light, gentle voice reached her action.

Jiang Zhi, bewildered, withdrew her hand, walked up to him, and asked, "Young master, what's wrong?"

Lu Yiluo lowered his brows and eyes, his expression unseen, "Crouch down."

Jiang Zhi obeyed his words and crouched down.

When his distinct‑knuckled fingers touched her cheek, she froze, her pupils dilating.

His finger brushed the corner of her lips; before she could retreat, the hand had already withdrawn.

"Rice." He placed the glossy rice on his fingertip before her.

Jiang Zhi's snow‑white cheek took on a peach‑blossom crimson, her mist‑tinged eyes reflecting flecks of light.

Almost immediately reacting, she snatched the rice from the boy's fingertip and, in a panic, pushed the cart out of the room.

The black‑haired boy sitting in the chair gave a light cough, his fingers slightly bent at his lips, wearing a smile that merged with the night.

It was naptime.

Jiang Zhi waited for him to fall asleep, then left the room and went to the bathroom.

Leaving the bathroom, she raised her brows and said, "He did it on purpose, just a grain of rice—there wasn't any rice on my face to begin with."

777 was startled by the recent back‑and‑forth clash; this world's villain is far from the innocent purity of someone just come of age.

He's really nasty!

"That's right, Host!" 777 said, trembling with fear.

Jiang Zhi let the clear water run over her fingers and asked, "How much favorability do we have now?"

777: "It's 20!"

Not bad.

In two days it rose by twenty.

Jiang Zhi had just left the bathroom, about to retrace her steps, when the butler suddenly appeared before her.

"Miss Jiang, Mr. Lu requests your presence."

Jiang Zhi startled, then followed the butler downstairs to the second‑floor study.

The second‑floor corridor was brightly lit, like heaven compared to the third floor.

The elusive butler had slipped away at some point; she stepped forward and knocked on the door.

From inside came a man's voice, icy to the bone.

"Enter."

Jiang Zhi shuddered, pushed the door open, and stepped inside.
