The Strange Female

Too many things happened in just one day.

It was supposed to be a joyous day, but it ended up like this.

Along the way, there was some silence.

Chaosheng frowned in conflict, her thoughts churning, inevitably recalling the strangeness of Baini and Yinxu after they took the Marriage Oath.

No matter what, she had definitely been exposed.

How much did they know? If they asked her later, how should she explain it to them?

A heavy stone pressed tightly against her chest, stifling her until she could barely breathe.

Baini and Yinxu were the most important Beastmen in this world to her; she did not want a rift to form between them because of this matter.

Chaosheng swam listlessly back into the cave and, as if escaping, lay down on the Shell Bed, clouds of worry gathering in her eyes.

Behind her, Baini and Yinxu transformed into their human forms and entered the cave as well. Seeing Chaosheng looking so dejected, Baini asked with concern, "Sheng, what's wrong? Are you tired?"

Chaosheng glanced at him speechlessly, *I'm not tired... *

But the words that came to her lips were, "I am a little tired."

Yinxu followed closely behind to guard her side; the two tall Male Beastmen surrounded her small Shell Bed, making it airtight.

Feeling the shadow over her, Chaosheng closed her eyes, resigning herself to fate. The moment had come; were they going to interrogate her?

Like a prisoner waiting for death to descend, she felt helpless to the point of despair.

If she confessed that she had transmigrated from another world, would they accept it?

They liked her, right? Would they be tolerant of her because they liked her?

A faint expectation slowly began to sprout.

But...

As if thinking of something, a look of sorrow rippled across the little Mermaid's beautiful face, her moist purple eyes filled with disappointment.

But she could not afford to gamble; she had once been branded a freak by her human peers for exposing her ability to use Witch Power to save someone, and they had cruelly burned her to death.

She dared not trust anymore.

Yet, she could not bring herself to hurt them to keep this secret forever, just as she had killed Rutong.

She truly did not know what to do...

Looking at the two faces of Yinxu and Baini filled with concern for her, her purple eyes dimmed, her face full of conflict; what on earth should she do?

"Sheng, how about we move?"

"Huh?" The deathly silent little Mermaid instantly came to life. She looked at Yinxu, bewildered, not understanding why he brought this up. "What did you say?"

Yinxu smiled faintly and explained to her, "We will be living together from now on; this place is too small."

"And if you have ot... other Beast Husbands in the future, we can't all be squeezed in here."

Chaosheng let out a long breath. It was better not to talk about that matter; she would confess to them once she was prepared.

A pleasant arc appeared in her eyes, though her lips curved helplessly. She quickly waved her hands to show her loyalty, and sweet, intoxicating words spilled from her lips, "There won't be any other Beast Husbands."

"I have you two, and that is enough."

After she finished, as if afraid they wouldn't believe her, she nodded vigorously. "Really!"

Baini felt his heart go numb from Chaosheng's cuteness. He didn't know if the Mates of other Beastmen would say such sweet things.

He only knew that when he heard these words, he wanted to carve out his own heart and offer it to the little Mermaid to play with.

Baini's mouth couldn't stop curling up in joy, his eyes looking at her with fiery intensity. "Really? Sheng, you must remember your words!"

"Mm-hmm." Two was already enough; if there were any more, she wouldn't have the fortune to handle it.

In her view, more people meant more trouble.

It was already hard enough to balance her relationship with two Beast Husbands; where would she find the energy to take on new ones!

Yinxu lowered his head and chuckled, clearly pleased by Chaosheng's words as well, his eyes sparkling with starlight. "Even if you don't take more Beast Husbands, we can't live here forever."

"This place... is not very convenient after all."

Chaosheng froze for a moment before realizing what "not very convenient" meant. A shy blush spread across her fair face, and she bit her lip, feeling somewhat at a loss.

"Right, right," Baini chimed in, "Sheng, we will have little cubs in the future. This place is too small; the little cubs won't be used to living here."

"Who wants to have little cubs?" Chaosheng shyly glared at Baini. The matter of having cubs felt too far away for her.

However, it seemed Beastmen had many cubs; Baipei seemed to have over a dozen children.

As Chaosheng thought about it, she became a little afraid.

How could she possibly educate so many children well? Besides, this world was so dangerous; if her children were eaten as rations by other Beastmen, her heart would ache to death.

No, no, she couldn't give birth!

She had to go find some contraceptive herbs; she just didn't know if there were any in this ocean!

The moonlight poured down, making the seawater shimmer.

The tide rolled, wave after wave.

Chaosheng fell asleep listening to the faint sound of the waves, entering a sweet dream.

"Who?"

"Wuu... please, I beg you..."

Baini opened his half-closed eyes and saw a female standing at the cave entrance, crying until her makeup was ruined. Her skin was dark and shiny—a kind of iridescent black—and she was now haggard, weeping pitifully.

"Please, save Wushi..."

Yinxu opened his eyes immediately after, his handsome face showing faint displeasure, his dark brown eyes devoid of any emotion. "What is it?"

Baini answered truthfully, "A Beastman has come."

"I don't know what they came here for."

"It's like this..." The female struggled to stop her sobbing and explained to them, "Wushi... he is dying, please save him!"

Baini pulled at the corner of his mouth impatiently, his eyes helpless, yet he still kept his voice as low as possible so as not to disturb the little Mermaid who was still sleeping.

"We are not physicians; we cannot save him."

"Do you not have a Tribe? Is there no physician in your Tribe?"

"No... that's not it." The female choked, her voice sobbing incessantly, "The physician... the physician cannot cure him, that is why I came to find you..."

"I beg you, please save him..."

"He became like that because he was protecting me..."

The shrill crying still woke the sleeping Chaosheng; her long purple hair fell, and she buried her head in the crook of her arm to shake off her sleepiness before asking, "Did something happen?"

A flash of annoyance crossed Baini's eyes; he had still disturbed Sheng. "It's nothing."

"She came to the wrong place."

The female hurriedly shook her head, her voice trembling, "I didn't, I didn't come to the wrong place!"

"I am looking for you!"

Chaosheng rubbed her cheeks, forcing herself to wake up completely.

She stepped forward with her fair, long legs, cutting through a ripple in the water, and walked over while yawning, "What do you want with us?"

When the female saw Chaosheng, her eyes lit up; she went straight forward and knelt before her in a humble posture.

"Wushi is dying..."

"You said you could purify the Mental Sea!"

"And you told us to come find you, you must save him!"

The female became more and more agitated as she spoke, her voice hoarse, fearing that Chaosheng would not be willing to agree to save Wushi.
