Chapter 71: Orca Breeding Season
Orca Breeding Season
On the luxuriously decorated Shell Bed, Chaosheng lay quietly, her long, waterfall-like purple hair drifting gently with the seawater. Her delicate sleeping face was serene, with a stray lock of hair playfully resting across her beautiful features.
Yinxu brushed that lock of hair aside, and as he looked at the sleeping Mermaid, a hint of a smile deepened in his eyes.
"Hmm..." As a scorching fingertip grazed her cheek, Chaosheng frowned with a vague sense of awareness, her eyelashes fluttering as she slowly woke up. "What are you doing?"
Her voice, not yet fully awake, carried a touch of languor. After opening her eyes slightly, she closed them again in compromise, her pink, moist lips moving in dissatisfaction.
His brown eyes were deep and dark. Yinxu stared fixedly at the little Mermaid, scanning every inch of her without reservation, possessively shrouding her beneath his own shadow.
Just a wild Male, Sheng won't like him, right?
Female Beastmen love to take husbands, especially the more capable ones; they can possess extraordinary power without any effort, standing above other Beastmen. Which Female Beastman could refuse such a feeling?
This is not hard to understand.
Yet, he still selfishly hoped that Sheng would be satisfied with just him. If she must take a Beast Husband, it should at least be after he had secured a place in Sheng's heart.
It is a real pity; if he were to do anything now, Baini would certainly notice.
His scorching, hot fingertips traced over Chaosheng's soft, tender face. Yinxu's gaze was as dark as gloomy ink, and he began to calculate silently in his heart.
Chaosheng woke from her sleep, her eyes hazy, yet her mind was exceptionally clear.
She had slept very well last night and felt that her energy was more vigorous today.
"Ha... that was a comfortable sleep."
In the ice chamber to the left, a pair of open black eyes shifted. After identifying the little Mermaid's voice, a glimmer of light flashed through them, and then the other, tightly closed eye also slowly began to open.
"Sheng, you're awake?"
Chaosheng rubbed the messy strands of hair at the back of her head, her black eyes misty, and with her long, slender legs, she pushed aside the heavy seawater and walked over step by step.
"Sheng~" With a clear voice tinged with a bit of coquettish hoarseness, Baini instinctively nestled into Chaosheng's embrace, breathing in the fragrance emanating from the little Mermaid. "You woke up so early."
Seemingly noticing that Yinxu was not there and that the eyesore of a Beastman was gone, Baini's movements became bolder.
He quietly reached out to gently wrap his arms around Chaosheng's slender, firm waist, measuring the size in his heart. Such a small, thin waist; no wonder she eats so little every day.
Baini closed his eyes lazily, the corners of his mouth curling into a smug smile. Feeling the softness and fragrance near his chin, he instinctively rubbed against her.
So soft, so fragrant.
"What are you doing?" Chaosheng exclaimed, quickly pushing Baini away. Her beautiful eyes widened, filled with a trace of annoyance. "Baini!"
"Ah?" Caught off guard and pushed away, Baini stared blankly at the little Mermaid, seemingly unable to understand why she had suddenly changed her expression.
His voice was aggrieved and confused. "Sheng, what's wrong with you?"
Chaosheng froze for a moment, then, after realizing what had happened, glared fiercely at Baini, her lips pursed in displeasure. "You... you are not allowed to do this next time."
"Why!?" Baini looked at Chaosheng with dissatisfaction, seemingly very puzzled, and leaned toward her large purple tail, looking aggrieved. "Sheng..."
"We are married Beastmen; is it not even allowed to hug?"
"I asked my brother, and he said that Female Beastmen and Male Beastmen with good relationships often hug each other."
"..." Chaosheng looked at Baini with a slight headache. Baini was currently exploring the nuances of relationships, ignorant and curious.
There were some things she did not want to clarify.
When facing Yinxu, she could refuse him bluntly.
But when facing Baini, she really did not know what to do, and she was afraid he would ask something surprising without any sense of propriety.
"Hmm?" Baini hugged her beautiful large tail in dissatisfaction, his eyes moist and clear. "Why aren't you talking?"
"Sheng, you said you wanted to be a good Mate."
"You have to pay attention to me; you can't reject me."
"I'll pay attention, I'll pay attention..." Chaosheng sighed in compromise. She missed the Baini who was always sleeping.
Once Baini recovered his vitality, he was truly pestering.
"By the way..." Leaning against her shimmering tail, Baini felt at ease and smug. "Sheng, when are we going to have little cubs?"
"I'm already Seventh Tier; when the time comes, our little cubs will be the little tyrants of the Polar Sea, doing whatever they want..."
"Pfft!" Chaosheng was startled and choked on a mouthful of water. She was completely defeated by Baini's train of thought; how did a turn in conversation lead to this?
"Why are you saying this?"
Her purple tail fin slapped Baini as if venting her anger. Although she didn't use force, it still left a red mark on Baini's handsome, cold-white face.
"Hmph!" Baini lowered his eyes slightly, begging like a rascal. "I just want to have them..."
"Is that okay, Sheng?"
These past few days he had been sleeping all the time, and he hadn't spent much time with Sheng; he always felt like something was missing.
Now that he had successfully leveled up and returned to normal, no longer loving to sleep, he still felt empty.
He wanted to use something to fill that void.
Maybe he should find a time to ask his mother and brother again.
They had been married for so long; they must know more than he did.
Summer is the Orca breeding season.
If she conceived now, perhaps there would be Orca cubs by next autumn.
Oh, and he didn't know if his and Sheng's cubs would be Mermaids or Orcas.
The Jingju Tribe was mostly Orcas, with very few Beastmen of other races, and he hadn't really understood what cubs born from different races looked like before.
But it seemed they usually took after the mother more.
That meant his and Sheng's cub might be a beautiful little Mermaid?!
His round black eyes rolled, a strange light flashing through them.
"Sheng, how do you Mermaids have cubs?"
"What would the cub of a Mermaid and an Orca look like?"
"Do you know?"
Chaosheng: "..."
She did not know; she had never seen one.
She looked gloomily at the large Orca before her; he was currently filled with visions of a future life with cubs.
Baini, what has gotten into him?
She remembered, wasn't Baini supposed to be clueless about matters of the heart?
What is going on today?
"You're ignoring me again!" Baini looked at her with dissatisfaction, having not received a reply from Chaosheng.
Chaosheng sighed as if surrendering, "I don't know either."
"Really."
"I never learned about these things back in the Mermaid Clan."
"Besides, Mermaids generally don't mate with other races."
Baini listened quietly, but keenly caught onto one word: mate?!
It seemed that only after mating would Sheng be able to share all of his special abilities.
He was currently at the top-tier Seventh Tier; if Sheng could share his full abilities, wouldn't that mean Sheng would also become a Seventh-tier Beastman?!
