Her eyes felt as heavy as lead and it took a short moment before she was able to get them open.

However, the rays of the sunlight were much too intense and she had to close them up once again.

Neveah lifted a hand to shield her eyes from the rays, a quiet groan escaping her.

The memories of how she ended up unconscious flooded Neveah’s mind, from Lord Mycroft’s words to her reacting a little too badly, presenting Demevirld an opportunity to slip up to the surface.

Neveah sighed quietly, though she still did not support that Everon had kept his actions a secret from her, she could understand why, she had gone right ahead to do exactly what he feared.

’I end up unconscious more times than I am actually awake. At this rate, I should simply put myself into a coma and be done with it.’ Neveah thought in exasperation.

Neveah waited for a few moments, before her eyes came open once again.

The first thing Neveah noticed was that she was not in a bedroom like she would have expected, instead, she was staring up at the open sky.

Warm shades of blues and colorful hues from the sun rays. White fluffy clouds floating in their altitude, it was a clear sky of any normal day.

Neveah had not been expecting this sight at all, last she remembered, she was in the drawing room in the Scabbard Tower.

’Did they toss me out to the fields or something?’ Neveah thought with a raised brow.

Neveah chuckled quietly to herself at the absurdity of her own thought. She did not think she had done anything so irreparably annoying just yet.

Neveah squinted slightly as she sat up, the sound of dried leaves crunching drew Neveah’s attention to her immediate environment.

Neveah glanced around to find that she was laid down on the forest floor, in a clearing surrounded by towering trees.

Surrounding her was a bed of dried leaves and Neveah could tell she had been laid right on it.

Neveah raised a brow, unsure of how she came to be in such a location or why she was even here.

But Neveah’s instincts did not alert her to any danger and so Neveah flopped back down to the bed of dried leaves, heaving a sigh.

’The air was clean, far too clean to be within Scabbard.’ Neveah noted unconsciously.

Not even the White Dunes still had such clean air, not with the canyon lifting up layers of dust that clogged the air.

It had been too long Neveah breathed in such clean air, tainted only by the scents of nature all around her.

Neveah could not help the urge to take a moment to savor it, if only for just a minute.

’I am already here after all, wherever here is.’ Neveah justified herself.

"Are you sure we do not want to find out where we are immediately?" Neveah’s wolf thought to her in concern.

"I will figure it out in a moment." Neveah murmured to her wolf, letting her eyes go closed once again.

"This is very careless of you. We could be anywhere." Neveah’s wolf thought back to her.

But Neveah had already begun humming quietly to herself, it had been far too long she had found such serenity and peace of mind.

"It is only a moment, the world will not burn down to the ground." Neveah thought back to her wolf.

"Besides, I still need to contemplate on how exactly to find out where we are... who knows? Her eyes grew wide when she stared up into a familiar pair of mismatched orbs.

Neveah’s heart skipped within her chest, and then began beating at an accelerated rate before it stopped and then continued right on once again.

"J... Jian?" Neveah stuttered out in surprise.

Jian smiled slightly, tilting his head to the side, his silver tresses spilling over his shoulder.

"Do you realize how long I have waited for you?
