Chapter 262: Robin, Well Done!
In his normal state, even at full burst, it would be difficult to capture Kaido because this guy was no pushover.
His physical prowess, Haki, and Devil Fruit ability were all formidable, and he was a massive tank.
To subdue him, Cyrus would need to activate Unbending in his current state, and while a regular explosion might suppress Kaido, defeating or killing him was impossible.
Besides, even if he were to fight Kaido, Cyrus preferred the battlefield to be in Wano Country.
"I thought you would make a move to capture Kaido of the Beasts," Issho said, feeling surprised that Cyrus had let Kaido leave because in Issho's view, Cyrus should have no problem restraining the Emperor if he wished.
"I traveled all the way from the Sabaody Archipelago and circled the area searching for you all, so it is draining, you know. Besides, he is one of the Emperors of the Sea in the New World, and he is not someone you can capture," Cyrus explained as he looked at Issho.
"But how did you run into this guy?"
Cyrus was curious because it seemed too coincidental.
Although Kaido was known to roam across the New World, the seas were vast, so encountering him felt like luck.
"I'm not sure either. He attacked from the sky, and I had no choice but to respond," Issho said as he shook his head.
He had fought Kaido for a long time, but they exchanged few words and focused on combat.
"This is considered the Big Mom Pirates' territory!" Cyrus stroked his chin.
"You mentioned that those two were once in the same pirate crew, so maybe he left from Big Mom's side?" Issho guessed.
"That is a possibility," Cyrus replied, and after saying this, he flew off in a specific direction.
"Let's go back to the ship first, and we will discuss our next moves there."
Hearing Cyrus's voice trail off from afar, Issho turned and followed as the two used their Devil Fruit abilities to glide through the sky.
...
Pinecone Island.
It was one of the outer islands of Totto Land and was renowned for its high-quality pinecones.
Though pinecones were a common sight, the island's unique environment and tree varieties produced superior ones.
Even before Charlotte Linlin occupied it, the island's pinecones were famous, and the island's name itself proved this.
Now, however, these premium pinecones were supplied to Whole Cake Island.
"Treinta Fleur: Strangle!" Robin crossed her arms, and a series of bone-cracking sounds echoed around her.
"These guys don't seem fazed by Cyrus's reputation at all," Robin remarked after her attack, while Baby 5 fired from both hands to send gunshots ringing out.
Earlier, Robin had steered the ship closer to the island, only to be met with an attack.
"I don't care who you are! This is the territory of Big Mom, Queen of Totto Land, so anyone who comes here must abide by our rules!"
Just as Robin's sarcastic remark left her lips, laughter erupted from behind the surrounding pirates.
"Men, seize them and deliver them to Whole Cake Island! Then we'll earn our ticket to the tea party!"
At the captain's command, the pirates cheered, because being invited to a tea party was a mark of becoming a core member of the Big Mom Pirates.
Ignoring their fallen comrades, the pirates brandished their blades and charged at Robin and Baby 5.
In terms of overall capability, pirates of the New World surpassed those from Paradise and the Four Blues, at least on average, and the pirates surrounding them now were all burly and robust individuals.
Crack!
A stone hurtled toward Robin faster than a bullet, but Baby 5's arm transformed into a shield to position itself beside Robin.
Clang!
A loud impact forced Baby 5 back several steps until she stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Robin, and the projectile embedded itself in the shield formed by Baby 5's arm.
"Hahaha! I am the Slingshot Man who ate the Slingshot Fruit! You had better not resist, or I can't guarantee what will happen!"
The speaker had a lanky build, and his arms stretched upward like pulled rubber bands while a fist-sized stone rested between his overlapping hands.
"If we surrender, you won't hurt us, right?" Robin spoke up.
Baby 5 blinked in confusion and turned to look at Robin, only to see her crossing her arms over her chest while countless arms sprouted from the ground behind her.
"Mil Fleur: Barrage!"
Without waiting for a response, Robin struck.
Innumerable pale giant arms erupted from the earth to arc through the air before pummeling everything in their path.
Their blinding speed created afterimages, and their tremendous force made the ground tremble until every pirate stood within the range of the arms generated by the Hana Hana no Mi.
The Slingshot Man was about to launch his stone when he felt hands restraining his arms, and turning around, he saw several arms emerging from the ground to immobilize his hands.
Before he could react, more arms sprouted across his body to twist and pin him in place, and had his physique been less robust, the sound of snapping bones would have echoed through the air.
Only when the surrounding screams faded did Robin dispel her ability.
Gasping to steady her breathing, Robin lifted her gaze forward, because coating her ability-generated arms with Armament Haki still drained her.
Still, it was far more manageable than before since she could never have achieved this level in the past, and it proved that Cyrus's intensive training had paid off.
Robin stepped over the fallen pirates and stopped before the immobilized Slingshot Man, who glared at her with fury.
Robin paid no mind to his hostile stare.
"Did you attack us under Big Mom's orders?" Robin inquired.
She was concerned about this because she had followed Cyrus all this way, and it seemed Cyrus had no conflicts with Big Mom.
If there was one, it would be the gigantification experiment on Punk Hazard, but it was probably not that.
"Let me go! Big Mom is not someone you can oppose, and attacking me is equivalent to declaring war on Big Mom!" the Slingshot Man shouted as he struggled a few times but failed to break free from the arms.
"Does Charlotte Linlin know you are this impressive?" an exasperated voice sounded.
Hearing this voice made both Robin and Baby 5 look delighted, and they turned to see Cyrus standing not far behind them holding his sword, though they did not know when he had appeared.
"Hey, Robin, you did well this time," Cyrus praised with a smile when he saw her turn around.
