Chapter 1: Dream
East Blue, Goa Kingdom, Black Reef Village.
The sky was gray and hazy, as if draped in a thin veil, and rain was drizzling down, washing over the dark and cramped alleyway. Luo Di opened his eyes hazily and slowly sat up; a heavy sensation came from his brain, leaving him dizzy as if he had been struck by a few heavy clubs.

"Ah! Please, let us go!"
"Hehehe, to think you'd dare resist our Hyena Gang—what a bunch of lowly commoners!"
The sounds of beating, begging, and cruel laughter and insults alternated, sounding especially noisy in the rain. The air was filled with the stench of cheap alcohol and blood. Corpses and severed limbs lay scattered everywhere on the ground, and the rainwater had already been dyed red with blood. Most of the men had missing limbs, while the women were barely clothed, covered in traces of humiliation.
Am I... dreaming?
The chill of the rain hitting his skin and the rot entering his nostrils made Luo Di a bit more sober. His vision gradually cleared, and just as he was marveling at how realistic the tactile sensation of this dream was, the scene around him made his stomach churn.
"Huh, this guy isn't dead yet?"
A sharp voice came from nearby. Luo Di looked toward the sound and saw a tall, thin man holding a short blade looking at him with a cruel grin, licking the corner of his mouth like a hungry wolf seeing a lame little rabbit.
Feeling his scalp tingle from being stared at, Luo Di stood up and squinted at the tall, thin man.
One shouldn't feel fear in a dream, right?
The tall, thin man was already striding toward him.
His other accomplices nearby were busy and hadn't noticed the situation on Luo Di's side at all.
Having lived in a harmonious society for many years, Luo Di had long forgotten the feeling of fighting; the life of a corporate slave had worn away his edge. But this was his dream, and it was said that one cannot feel pain in a dream.
Thinking of this, Luo Di set his mind at ease and assumed a stance to catch a blade with his bare hands.
In a flash, a colorful, transparent mist suddenly appeared behind Luo Di, vanishing in an instant.
As the mist cleared, a phantom appeared in the air.
Its purple-blue skin was extremely striking, and the knotted muscles piled beneath golden shoulder guards were as rigid as if chiseled by an axe. Tufts of spike-like black hair danced in the air, and it stood tall like an ancient divine statue, revealing an unquestionable majesty.
At this moment, he seemed to have established some kind of connection with the phantom in the air. Before he could think it through, the tall, thin man had already closed in, and the short blade in his hand slashed vertically toward Luo Di's head.
Luo Di subconsciously raised his hand to block, and the tall, thin man grinned, looking at him like he was an idiot.
To think he wants to catch my blade with his hand—how is that any different from seeking death?
But the next second, he froze.
In his eyes, his blade had stopped ten centimeters above Luo Di's head, and no matter how much force he exerted, it could not advance even an inch further.
And in Luo Di's eyes, the opponent's blade had been caught by the materialized purple-skinned muscular man.
A memory overlapped with the figure before him, and Luo Di's eyes suddenly brightened.
This is... Star Platinum?
Having watched various anime for years, he was naturally no stranger to Star Platinum, but he hadn't expected it to appear in his dream this time. He mimicked Jotaro's manner from the anime and attempted to control Star Platinum.
Exerting force...
Crack.
The blade was crushed directly. Before the tall, thin man could react, Star Platinum raised its fist and rained blows down upon him like raindrops.
Bang, bang, bang...
The tall, thin man was smashed backward like a bent shrimp, plowing heavily for several meters and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Ugh~"
As the dust settled, the tall, thin man's face was already shattered, his eyeballs bulging out. His body trembled incessantly, but no sound could come from his throat, and he soon lost consciousness completely.
Swish, swish.
The rain continued to fall. The other accomplices nearby were attracted by the commotion and all walked toward Luo Di's position. They held short blades, steel pipes, axes, and other cold weapons, each looking fierce and murderous.
"Was that commotion caused by him?" said the scar-faced man in the lead.
A lackey pointed at the corpse of their accomplice on the ground, eyes widening: "That guy is A Shui!"
"A Shui was actually killed by a lowly commoner."
"He must have been careless and didn't dodge."
"Damn it, he still owes me money."
The villains discussed among themselves. The scar-faced man's expression darkened, and he looked coldly at Luo Di: "Did you do this?"
It was a dream anyway, so Luo Di felt no fear. He curled his lips into a wicked smile: "Yeah, he's still warm. I'm waiting for you all to go down and keep him company."
"Get him, grab him! I want to cut out his tongue first," the scar-faced man ordered.
"Kid, taste the consequences of angering our Hyena Gang!" a lackey roared, rushing forward with a short blade, while the others followed closely, charging toward Luo Di's position.
There was no time to think. Luo Di looked at the crowd attacking him and clenched his fists. An invisible magnetic field tightly connected him to the Star Platinum in the air. He exhaled, closed his eyes, and then opened them abruptly.
"Haa!!!"
Luo Di shouted, and Star Platinum in the air instantly moved to block in front of him. Facing the attacking Hyena Gang members, its fists smashed out like a rapid-fire cannon.
"I'm done being human!"
"Ora ora ora ora..."
Accompanied by shouts and battle cries, the Hyena Gang members instantly fell to the ground in different directions. Some had dents smashed into their heads, and blood and brains mixed on the ground, only to be washed away by the rain and then pool together again.
The scar-faced leader saw this scene and was instantly stunned on the spot. Their Hyena Gang might not be famous in this bay, but they were certainly notorious; usually, no other gang dared to resist them, let alone a commoner.
Yet, the young man before him displayed strength that made them shudder. Just by standing there, he had wiped out all his subordinates, and his group had absolutely no power to fight back.
The scar-faced man felt his feet leave the ground, and his whole body was hoisted up. A sensation of suffocation came from his throat, as if clamped by iron pliers. He struggled subconsciously, grabbing at an arm that felt like steel bars in the air.
"Ugh~"
While the scar-faced man, gripped by the neck by Star Platinum, was still struggling, Luo Di had already slowly walked in front of him. He turned to the side, lifted his chin to reveal his profile, placed his left index finger between his brows, and said indifferently:
"Remember my name, and the story I bring to you. Savor it well in hell."
Although I didn't actually say my name.
Crack.
The sound of bone fracturing rang out; the head of the Scar-faced man, whose neck was being gripped, tilted to the side, and he completely ceased to breathe.
The rain gradually stopped, the dark clouds dispersed, and sunlight shone straight down from the firmament; a rainbow manifested behind Luo Di, and he was bathed in the seven-colored light and rain.
Bang!
Luo Di was still savoring the words he had just spoken when delivering the fatal blow to the Scar-faced man, feeling that he was simply incredibly cool.
Perhaps he should strike a few more cool poses.
He looked around; the wind was blowing with a howl, and amidst the black, rusted pipes and the abandoned junkyard, even after being washed by the rain, the air was still filled with a foul odor, and apart from the corpses and severed limbs, there was also a group of people standing there in a daze.
Most of them were injured; some knelt on the ground weeping, grieving for their deceased loved ones, while others felt fortunate to still be alive, then looked at Luo Di, their eyes filled with astonishment and gratitude.
It had been a long time since he had such an exciting dream... As a corporate slave who had been struggling in society for many years, Luo Di felt a deep sense of comfort.
