Chapter 1079: Bone Dragon! Bold Plan!

The city wall is breached!

All the Undead Calamity skeleton units crowded toward that direction.

Fortunately, at this moment there were still many players inside the city wall who rushed forward immediately, and additionally the NPC troops were on standby.

These NPCs are all level 70 or above, with some even reaching level 80.

Thus these NPCs' output is much more brutal than that of current players; it's just a pity that their numbers are relatively small.

Su Sheng controlled the Justice Beast to leap up, directly jumping to the position of the gap, thrusting with his spear… Domineering Fierce Lion!

Su Sheng, the NPCs' output is even more ferocious!

Currently there is only one gap, and its range isn't too large. With Su Sheng's addition and the NPCs' assistance, they managed to hold this gap.

However, after Su Sheng stayed here to guard the gap, the players on the front battlefield lost Su Sheng's firefighting, and the casualty rate increased by about twenty percent.

Don't underestimate this twenty percent; in such a large-scale battle, even a slight tilt can cause a huge impact.

Also thanks to that earlier wave, the players who suffered more casualties have already gone elsewhere via the Teleport Array; these are the solo players who came later to provide support.

Moreover, the loot dropped by these skeleton frames is still quite good, with many people showing off their purple drops on the public channel.

You should know that for ordinary purple equipment, basic monsters basically don't drop it; only bosses drop purple-tier or higher gear, and the chance for a monster to drop purple is extremely low.

Even a couple of lucky players showed off orange epic gear they obtained from skeleton giants; Su Sheng also glanced at the attributes of those orange epics, which, although somewhat low, are still epics.

Precisely because the gains are also not low, many solo players are able to persist.

But as the number of casualties among players increased, more Undead Calamity skeleton units arrived at the city wall, frantically attacking the wall formed by Zhu Que.

Meanwhile, the skeleton archers and mages among the Undead Calamity, and even the throwing axes of the skeleton giants, were coming one after another toward the wall.

In a short time, the durability of the wall here in Zhuque Main City rapidly dropped.

Su Sheng, blocking this gap, couldn't help seeing this scene and felt somewhat anxious.

But right now he also has no other option; if he left, this gap would very likely be breached, because during the battle those NPCs have already sustained some damage.

Relying solely on the players' own skill, they might not even be able to hold this gap; just two or three skeleton giants could break it.

Although Zhuque Main City could still fight if it entered street combat, there are still endless waves of Undead Calamity skeleton units coming from behind.

If they actually managed to break through the Chengzhu fu and destroy the territory stone, that would be troublesome.

But if things continue like this, this side of the wall simply cannot be held.

Just as Su Sheng had this thought.

Boom—

A loud boom came from not far away next door; another section of the wall collapsed, and some ranged players on that wall fell down and turned into white light.

Su Sheng saw three skeleton giants standing in front of that wall.

Regarding this, Su Sheng was also helpless; although he had earlier guessed they definitely couldn't hold, he didn't expect it to happen so quickly.

Moreover, this seemed to be a beginning… the main city is large, so this side of the wall is also wide; Su Sheng was forced to guard this gap, and thus he only noticed the surrounding situation.

But boom after boom came from the distance as well, obviously indicating that more walls had collapsed.

Su Sheng took a moment to glance at the public channel; in a short time, six gaps had collapsed.

And large numbers of Undead Calamity skeleton units poured into Zhuque Main City through the gaps.

Just a moment ago, three gaps had already been lost.

If this continues, Zhuque Main City will be broken.

However, at this moment, a private chat message came in.

At such a critical moment, who would send me a private chat?

Su Sheng thought of something, opened the private chat, and took a look.

Anyway, so many gaps have already been broken and lost; whether this gap is lost or not actually doesn't matter much anymore.

Upon seeing the incoming private chat message, Su Sheng's face finally showed a hint of a smile; after so long, he finally received a piece of good news.

The message was from the brother in charge of surveillance over there; the good news is that the Teleport Array has finally been completely shut off.

But shortly after, that brother sent another message and a screenshot, and Su Sheng could no longer smile.

In the screenshot, there was a huge skeleton frame, but it was not a humanoid skeleton frame.

But a dragon, a Western dragon…

Bone Dragon!!

Is this the final boss?!

This is the thing that appeared last before the Teleport Array was closed.

That brother secretly fired a crossbow bolt…

But that brother was immediately sent away by a breath of oblivion dragon breath.

Undead Bone Dragon (Lord-class Boss)

Level: 80

???

????

Lord-class Boss!!

Compared to the final boss of the previous Demon Siege, this is even more extravagant; the previous Demon Siege's final boss was merely a level 70 Lord-class Boss.

Now this level 80 Lord-class boss has appeared, making it hard to defeat.

Su Sheng still remembers that Xuan Wu-formed Xuan Wu mechanical beast; when dealing with that level 70 Lord-class elephant, they barely managed.

Moreover, where is the Zhu Que-formed city-defending mechanical beast? Su Sheng hasn't even seen it yet.

However, the one silver lining is that the Teleport Array has been shut off, meaning the skeleton units are no longer endless; killing one reduces their number by one.

Just Su Sheng heard a few booming sounds, and the city walls were collapsing.

Su Sheng activated the Lion's Wing Flap Skill… and soared into the air.

Then Su Sheng clearly saw the situation at Zhuque Main City at this moment… including the gap he had just defended, a total of eight gaps had collapsed.

Now five gaps have already been lost, and a large number of Undead Calamity skeleton units are frantically pouring into Zhuque Main City's streets through those five gaps.

Besides the gap he had just defended, there are still two gaps holding, and in one of those gaps Su Sheng saw an old acquaintance.

An NPC, the Chief of the Demon Suppression Office of Zhuque Main City… Lin Qiankun, that Fangshi profession NPC.

Although Lin Qiankun is a Fangshi profession, his rank should be high, and he is also a hero unit; each of his strikes can kill many undead skeletons, so that gap has not been lost.

As for the other gap that is still held, Su Sheng saw a man wearing red armor, wielding a greatsword and swinging widely, who also successfully defended a gap.

Although Su Sheng has never seen him before, he has seen related posts about him on the game forum; this person is the Lord of Zhuque Main City and also a hero unit NPC.

I don't know if they can handle the final undead bone dragon.

It seems we might not even get to the undead bone dragon stage.

Skeleton units from the other five directions have already begun a massive influx into Zhuque Main City.

If this continues, the Main City is truly in danger.

Is there any way to break the situation?

Su Sheng, hovering in mid-air, looked down following the direction of the Undead Calamity; it was still an endless sea of skeleton units.

Although the Teleport Array has been shut down, the remaining Undead Calamity units are still numerous, appearing endless.

Given this number and the current situation, it seems we won't even need to wait for the undead bone dragon to appear—Zhuque Main City will fall.

Looking down along the city wall, dense melee players are fearlessly blocking the undead units; but looking down again along the city wall, dense melee players are fearlessly blocking the undead units, yet their attributes are far inferior—at this stage the undead units' attributes are already exaggerated, and because the city walls have collapsed, the players' battle formations have become somewhat chaotic.

Thus the white light of player deaths flashes almost continuously.

Although there are many players, the attrition rate is also very fast.

Many revived players originally came from the two side city gates, then proceeded to support the front battlefield; but now, because the city walls have breached, many newly revived players are rushing toward the already lost five gaps.

As a result, on the front battlefield side, subsequent reinforcements have basically stopped coming.

Thus, as players continuously die, revive, and then support the gap positions, the pressure on the front battlefield keeps increasing.

Moreover, because the city walls have collapsed, many ranged players have silently descended from the walls, since after the collapse that height is enough to kill squishy ranged players outright.

This makes the front battlefield situation even worse.

As for the main force players of the four major guilds, they have already scattered and are fighting independently in this chaotic battlefield.

There's no way to maintain a normal battle formation under these circumstances.

The only ones still able to maintain a battle formation are the two—one on the left, one on the right—constantly providing fire support: Huan Yu and Qingming Star.

They have never gone to the front battlefield from the start; they remain on the flanks, constantly weakening the Undead Calamity's offensive power.

According to Su Sheng's current estimate, this simply cannot be blocked.

The five waves of skeleton units that have entered the city keep advancing, steadily approaching the Lord's Manor.

We need to think of a way to break the situation!

Su Sheng hovered in the high sky, surveying the whole scene, frowning in thought.

Gazing at the distant horizon…

Suddenly, a bold plan formed in Su Sheng's mind.

But whether this plan can succeed remains a question, after all the teleport gate has already been closed.

Moreover, if the plan fails, perhaps my Yanhuang Guild will never recover.

However…

If the Teleport Array had not been closed, Su Sheng might not have had this idea; but now that the Teleport Array is closed, these skeleton units are no longer endless—eliminating one reduces their number by one—so Su Sheng came up with this notion.

Since there is an idea, let's act on it!

Regardless of success or failure, Zhuque Main City must be preserved; Su Sheng has never been indecisive!

Afterwards, the garlic paste controlled by Su Sheng flew straight toward the Teleport Array location of Zhuque Main City.

Many players noticed Su Sheng's movement and couldn't help but wonder, "What is Master Mo Wen trying to do?"

Then, under everyone's gaze, the garlic paste controlled by Su Sheng flew straight into the Teleport Array.

"Is Master Mo Wen trying to flee the battlefield?!"

No, Master Mo Wen is not that kind of person.

Xingchen, Shen Wang, and the familiar members of the Yanhuang Guild all know Su Sheng would never desert in battle, yet they are also puzzled by his action—what on earth is Su Sheng up to?

…

At this moment, Su Sheng has already appeared in Yanhuang Town.

Su Sheng had no time to linger; he mounted the garlic paste and charged straight toward the town center.

"Your Majesty YiSiLanDiEr!!"

As soon as he reached the vicinity of the town center, Su Sheng anxiously called out.

An elderly scholar emerged from the town center's main gate, looking at Su Sheng with doubt.

"Explorer, why the hurry? What's the matter? You aren't supposed to be resisting the undead at the Main City?"

"The undead are simply too numerous and terrifyingly strong; Zhuque Main City is likely to fall."

Su Sheng answered truthfully.

Upon hearing this, YiSiLanDiEr couldn't help but raise his eyebrows: "That shouldn't be; where is the Zhuque army?"

"Huh? What Zhuque army?"

Su Sheng was taken aback; could YiSiLanDiEr be referring to those NPCs of Zhuque Main City? Those NPCs indeed have considerable strength, generally far surpassing ordinary players.

However, the number of those NPCs is really too few, each individual is too strong, facing this endless skeleton army, they are also somewhat lacking strength, ah.

Looking at Su Sheng's expression, YiSiLanDiEr roughly guessed what it was: "The Zhu Que army isn't here, and the Demon-Suppressing Army isn't either?"

Hearing YiSiLanDiEr's words, Su Sheng remained completely baffled, shaking his head blankly.

Tsk… no wonder, this small wave, an Undead Calamity of this scale could be easily dealt with if either the Zhu Que army or the Demon-Suppressing Army were present.

YiSiLanDiEr spoke.

"Is it really that exaggerated?" Su Sheng looked astonished.

"Otherwise, why do you think humanity could survive the Demon Race's onslaught?"

"The Four Great Main Cities are the widows of the four ancient kingdoms, and the Zhu Que army was the main force of the ancient Zhu Que Kingdom."

"But they're probably on the front lines right now."

YiSiLanDiEr spoke.

"The front lines?"

Su Sheng was completely baffled.

But YiSiLanDiEr didn't say more, looking at Su Sheng: "You came over to ask me to go help, right?"

Before Su Sheng could answer, he saw YiSiLanDiEr shake his head and sigh.

"If it were earlier, I might still be able to help, but now I can't leave Yanhuang Town."

YiSiLanDiEr looked at Su Sheng and spoke.

"Huh?" Su Sheng became even more confused; although his intention wasn't to ask YiSiLanDiEr to go to Zhuque Main City for help, he also hadn't expected that YiSiLanDiEr couldn't leave Yanhuang Town.

YiSiLanDiEr looked up at the spirit god tree on his head, without saying more.

But seeing his action, Su Sheng also had some guesses, estimating it was related to that spirit god tree.

YiSiLanDiEr must be bound to that spirit god tree or something, which is why he can't leave Yanhuang Town.
