Chapter 1297: Terrifying Hero Unit Boss

Can hold on!

Mo Wen, great god, can hold on!

Seeing the numbers popping up above Su Sheng's head, the players from Beibang and part of the Huaxia players all showed smiles on their faces.

Although this is just the boss's normal attack, the damage is quite exaggerated.

But… they had already seen before, when Su Sheng faced the boss in the second wave of the city shop siege, after the top Huaxia players activated their state and shield, Su Sheng's heaven-defying performance.

Calculating it this way, the crisis posed by this lord-level boss doesn't seem that exaggerated.

Even, they might possibly be able to directly take down this lord-level boss.

Lord-level boss—just thinking about it gets them excited.

Of course, the boss regenerates 2 million HP per second; even if they can't take down this boss, as long as Mo Wen the great god holds up front.

They can last for an hour, absolutely no problem.

But…

Is the real situation really like that?

Only those who haven't seen it or don't really understand hero units are optimistic.

They probably still haven't realized what Su Sheng said in the public channel just now… Hero unit, what does it mean?

The top players of Huaxia, as well as some players who understand hero units, are not at ease… Mo Wen the great god held up, but they cannot.

…

"Heh… interesting!"

On the boss's side, looking at Su Sheng before it, it grinned, showing a bit of interest.

"Demon-Suppressing Army? Centurion?"

"Even more interesting!!"

"Kekekeke~"

"You're worth me getting serious a bit!!"

"Raging demonic flames!"

This boss directly let out a roar to the heavens, and then black demonic flames rose all over its body.

Ding~

Environmental prompt: Affected by demonic energy erosion, demonic qi suppression effect 20%.

Resistance offsets 15%, actual effect 5%.

Su Sheng frowned slightly; originally this environment's demonic qi suppression was only 10%, his Demon-Suppressing Army centurion insignia had 15% magic resistance, allowing him to ignore it directly.

But now, the boss opened a buff, pulling the environmental suppression effect directly to 20%, exceeding his Demon-Suppressing Army centurion insignia's magic resistance threshold.

Moreover… the boss could actually discern his Demon-Suppressing Army identity—no wonder it's a hero unit.

Su Sheng reflexively pulled out a magic resistance potion… As the Yanhuang Guild Leader, Su Sheng certainly has plenty of anti-magic potions, high-quality ones too… It's just that, so far, the highest-quality anti-magic potion Chen Jianping can make is still only purple.

"Continue~ Let's play with you!"

"Roar!"

Although hero units are not affected by hate value, some of their actions still cannot be judged by common sense; they are like real humans, possessing extremely high intelligence, having their own personality and preferences, and also a way of thinking.

It's quite obvious that now this demon race's lord-level boss has taken an interest in Su Sheng, thus choosing to continue fighting Su Sheng instead of immediately attacking the city.

To some extent, this is also a good thing; if this boss rushed straight for the city… I'd estimate no one could stop it, including Su Sheng!

In the boss's hand, that black giant axe likewise covered in black demonic flames swung down at Su Sheng, extremely fast, carrying a tremendous momentum.

Su Sheng dared not be careless in the slightest, raising his shield high.

At the same time, he also put a shield on himself… the lion-like beast's Fireworks Blessing!

Boom!!

Another loud boom, the boss's axe fiercely smashed onto Su Sheng's shield!

Su Sheng, bearing the elephant passive, remained unmoving, yet at this moment the damage numbers popping up above his head were quite exaggerated!

-98031!

One axe strike! Ninety thousand!

Even though the lion-like beast's shield offset part of it, this damage is still very exaggerated.

Not only that!

Ding~

Combat prompt:

Received attack from the lord-level boss, Abyssal Magic Puppet, triggering demonic flame effect…

Demonic flame: continuous burn, dealing 1000 damage per second, and reducing received healing effectiveness by 30%, shield effectiveness by 20%.

Duration: 10 seconds!

Su Sheng felt his teeth ache; this boss is somewhat abnormal.

Lord-level boss, a proper lord-level boss after the fourth rebirth stage, and still a hero unit—indeed not something current-stage players can touch.

After the previous undead bone dragon, although knowing that lord-level bosses are all abnormal.

But only after personally experiencing it does one realize how abnormal it is.

For a moment, Su Sheng also felt immense pressure.

As for counterattack?!

So far, Su Sheng has no interest in that… unless a means to suppress regeneration can be effective, otherwise the damage he deals isn't even enough for the boss to heal in one second.

Moreover, going by the current situation, he should not be able to hold on!

Because, the distance where Su Sheng is has already exceeded the attack and healing range of the ranged players on the city wall.

Without the priest's healing, Su Sheng simply cannot endure.

Thinking this, Su Sheng immediately controlled the lion-like beast to start retreating.

Seeing Su Sheng's movement, the BOSS let out a vicious laugh, took big steps forward, and chased after him.

"Come on, I want to see how many axe blows you, a centurion, can withstand."

"But you're a bit slow."

"Kekeke~"

The Demon Race BOSS gave a strange laugh; its huge body made its movement speed look clumsy, yet each step it took covered an enormous distance.

Although Su Sheng was retreating, he dared not be careless at all, at least keeping his raised shield from being lowered.

Although moving broke his defensive stance, raising his shield to block still greatly reduced damage.

If he didn't raise his shield, even with Su Sheng's attributes, taking an axe hit head-on could possibly kill him instantly, especially since Su Sheng's condition is not slow right now.

Although he had a survival skill, this fourth wave BOSS battle had just begun, and hastily using his survival trump card like this—how would he fight later?

But the BOSS had already closed in, and it would not show mercy!

The giant axe wrapped in black demon flame swept horizontally at the waist!

Su Sheng didn't have time to think further, his eyes narrowed…

Shield Strike!!!

Clang!!

This time, the shield violently collided with the giant axe.

Block Exemption!!

Four large characters popped up above Su Sheng's head—indeed one of the little tricks he had developed, using attack instead of defense, the Shield Strike skill combined with the Block Force Dissipation Technique to achieve a perfect defense.

Although… Block Exemption had been triggered, but Su Sheng discovered a problem…

It was that the Demon Flame's effect had been refreshed!

Originally there were still 8 seconds of Demon Flame effect left, but now it had been refreshed again to a duration of 10 seconds.

Su Sheng slightly narrowed his eyes and took a look at the boss, whose whole body was ablaze with demon flame.

In other words, as long as the BOSS is in this raging demon flame state, is its demon flame effect triggered 100% of the time?

Thinking this, Su Sheng felt even more headache.

Retreat!!

However, the speed of his retreat did not decrease in the slightest; on the contrary, it became faster.

"Oh?!"

"Not bad! You've got some skill, human!!!"

"So close!! Just a little more and I could have pleased you!!!"

The BOSS stepped forward again, both hands raised high, the giant axe in his hands flashing with a black light… skill effect!!

Skill!!

Su Sheng's expression turned grave!

"Try a little harder to please me!!!"

The BOSS roared, and the giant axe in his hand came down with the posture of 'Mount Hua Splitting', smashing down fiercely.

Withstand?!

Su Sheng's current HP is not full…

The two attacks just now had shaved off a lot of Su Sheng's blood; although he used potions, the demon flame effect prevented much recovery.

Can't withstand it!

Looking at the descending giant axe, Su Song had a premonition that even if he raised his shield to dissipate force, but now lacking his defensive stance, with his remaining HP, he likely couldn't withstand this axe blow.

Then he could only… cheat!!

Su Sheng's retreating motion suddenly stopped, and he stared fixedly at the falling axe.

Even if he kept retreating, he couldn't get out of the axe's attack range.

The BOSS's body is too huge, and this axe is also too large.

The axe wreathed in black demon flame swiftly fell, just at the moment it touched Su Sheng's shield in his hand.

Roar!!

The lion-like beast beneath Su Sheng suddenly let out a furious roar!!

Prayer. Divine Beast's Blessing.

Consuming 1000 points of Prayer Power!

Within a ten-yard radius, friendly targets including himself become invincible for 1 second.

Invincible!!

As the axe fell, two golden characters popped up above Su Sheng's head.

Huh?!

This scene made the BOSS let out a very human-like little 'eh', shifting his gaze from Su Sheng's body to the lion-like beast beneath him.

"A divine beast?!"

"Interesting, a divine beast that hasn't grown up yet!"

"Kekeke~ I'm getting a bit excited!!"

The BOSS laughed maniacally, stepping forward again.

And Su Sheng then patted, the lion-like beast beneath him…

Flap Wings!!

Sweep~

The Suanni surged into the heavens!

Can't let it get bigger; must retreat to the back. Only with the priest's resources can we hold on.

Otherwise, I'd truly be sliced to death by this BOSS.

"Don't run!!"

The BOSS watched Su Sheng ride the Suanni take off, showed no sign of panic, and instead strode forward to chase, while its other empty hand suddenly reached toward Su Sheng's direction.

Boom!!

All of a sudden, the black Demon Energy spreading across the arena roiled, quickly coalescing into a terrifying black misty giant hand that lunged at Su Sheng.

Su Sheng saw this and couldn't help his brows twitch.

Nima…

Are hero units this perverse?

But it gave Su Sheng no time to think; he immediately controlled the Suanni to try to dodge.

The seated Suanni flicked its wings, performed a deft sideways flip, and evaded the black giant hand.

But unfortunately…

Although Su Sheng was agile, that black giant hand controlled by the BOSS was equally swift.

The giant hand snapped back, shadow‑like, and directly made a horizontal grab.

Boom!!

This time, Su Sheng couldn't dodge; the giant hand seized him and yanked him hard.

Ding~

Combat Tip:

Received, anti‑air attack…

Flight mode canceled.

Pa‑ji~

Su Sheng and Suan Ni were violently pulled to the ground by the black giant hand.

-20338

When the black giant hand grabbed Su Sheng, it dealt no damage.

But being yanked down from high altitude and slammed onto the ground caused basic fall damage… At the height the Suanni was flying, a regular player would probably have died outright; Su Sheng only lost 20,000 HP, his base stats are truly overpowered.

After landing, Su Sheng felt a tingling on his scalp.

But immediately afterward, a Purification descended, accompanied by Healing Technique that fell onto Su Sheng.

The demon flame on Su Sheng was instantly dispelled, and his health was fully restored.

Su Sheng was stunned, then quickly came to his senses.

Returned to…

Although he was pulled down from mid‑air by the BOSS, the distance he had previously created meant he barely made it back within the support range of the players behind the city wall.

"Mo Wen Chairman, you can still hold on, right?"

At this moment, Shen Wang, the Twelve-winged Angel, and Lang Xing Tianxia, three of them on mounts, approached from the side, their expressions solemn as they stared at the BOSS ahead.

Su Sheng shook his head slightly: "It's hard to deal with, and he's only interested in me right now."

Shen Wang and the others frowned upon hearing that.

Hero units and intelligent BOSSes are really tough! And this thing is so perverse, can we really block it?

Is this Demon Siege just trying to prevent anyone from clearing it?

…

…

It's not just the Beibang server; Su Sheng can't stand it…

The other two servers also facing the fourth wave of Demon Siege were in utter ruin at this moment.

Over at A San's side, they had already suffered heavy losses while defending the third wave of Demon Siege.

Now, facing this final lord‑level BOSS, the situation is even more unbearable.

The lord‑level BOSS on A San's side also hasn't broken through the city yet, but is steadily advancing toward the city.

Then, under the lead of high‑level players on the Eagle Sauce Server, massive groups of A San Players charged toward the BOSS.

Stop this BOSS!!

But the outcome was obvious; even Su Sheng struggled against the BOSS, how could they possibly hold it back? The result was obvious; even Su Sheng struggled against the BOSS, how could they possibly hold it back?

Thus, under the BOSS's terrifying giant axe, A San Players fell in massive numbers. Thus, under the BOSS's terrifying giant axe, A San Players fell in massive numbers.

The Demon BOSS swept through as if in an uninhabited realm, cutting a swath.

…

Little Days was experiencing a similar situation.

Facing this terrifying BOSS, no one could withstand even a single round's force.

I am not Thanos, I tried to go up.

The result was that I was immediately forced into a Survival Tactic, retreating in a mess.

Then, Gongben Yida Liu tried to kite upward using his speed.

But clearly, the BOSS wasn't interested in him; after all, he's a hero unit with no Hate Value. The BOSS ignored him entirely and pushed straight toward Little Days' National War Main City.

How could it be described as just 'tragic'?

Little Days and A San's side—whether they could actually hold this Guo Gan organized city—immediately became uncertain.

…

Not to mention their two servers, even if a large number of Huaxia top players had gathered in the Beibang Main City, now everyone's brows are tightly furrowed.

Although the walls are still intact, everyone understands that in front of this boss, these walls are no different from paper mache.
