Chapter 616: Breaking the Stalemate (4000 characters)

Exempt!

Two large characters floated out.

Everyone was stunned.

Li Wenwan also posted the monster's attributes at this time.

Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit. Rock (Special Monster)

??

??

??

Except for a name, everything else is question marks; there's no level, no attributes.

Strange!

Su Sheng frowned.

Magic attack exempt... their team is almost half crippled.

Because Li Wenwan, Lu Zhe, Su Ba, Bai Pangpang are all magic damage.

Swish~

At this moment, a sharp stalactite was flung directly at Li Wenwan.

Su Sheng directly pulled the reins!

He moved sideways a distance and blocked in front of Li Wenwan, raise shield! Defensive stance!

Falling Demon Body!

Facing this weird thing, Su Sheng didn't dare be careless at all!

Boom!

Su Sheng's whole body was knocked back a stagger!

-39976!

Forty thousand!

Su Sheng's brow furrowed!

What the hell is this!

Instantly forty thousand!

Too exaggerated!

If this continues, Su Sheng can't withstand it at all!

Because Bai Pangpang can't heal enough!

One priest can't withstand it!

Even in Mounted State, with Priest Buff, Su Sheng's HP is just over sixty thousand; one more hit and he'll die.

But take this opportunity!

Su Sheng directly attacks!

One spear! Lion's Fang!

Pfft!

The spear plunged into the Demon Energy and sank in, with no feeling at all!

Exempt!

Also a bunch of exemptions popped up!

Huh?

After seeing this exempt, everyone was stunned.

What the hell?!

Physical output is also exempt!

How do we fight this?

"Retreat first!" Su Sheng called for everyone to retreat!

Swish swish!

But this time Lu Zhe's Long Sword swung, blades of sword light slashed down!

Pfft pfft~

Lu Zhe's sword light slashed the monster, causing the Demon Energy to surge, but that's all!

Dense exemptions popped up!

Still can't inflict any damage!

What the hell thing?

Su Sheng's brows locked tightly.

"Xiao Zhe, retreat first, we'll study later."

Retreat first!

Su Sheng said to Lu Zhe.

Lu Zhe nodded, then sheathed his sword and ran.

Bai Pangpang gave Su Sheng the healing skill on hand, and also ran away.

Su Sheng's HP was raised a bit, but at most only two hits!

Plus Xiao Jia Huo's Fireworks Blessing!

At this moment Su Sheng also began to retreat!

Fortunately this fellow looked relatively clumsy, after all it had no definite shape, just a mass of strange Demon Energy coiling around a bunch of stalactites.

In the end the group also withdrew smoothly into the Cave Passage.

At this moment the strange Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit seemed unaware of the target, and the Demon Energy slowly contracted back into the Demon Energy Well.

Whoosh~

The stalactites that had been coiled fell scattered on the ground.

Seeing this, Su Sheng frowned and pondered.

Su Ba opened his mouth, but ultimately held back.

"How do we fight this? Both magical and physical attacks are exempt," Li Wenwan said gloomily.

This must be the most troublesome monster they've encountered on their journey.

As the Fourth Heavenly Calamity, it fears neither heaven nor earth, only fears you cheating by hiding its health bar!

This Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit, let alone a health bar, has virtually no information beyond its name and is doubly immune.

"Logically, the designer couldn't create an unbeatable boss; given this situation, there must be some mechanism we don't know,"

Su Sheng said.

Mechanism monsters are the most troublesome.

Su Sheng was also gloomy.

"We still have time, we can test it slowly," Bai Pangpang said.

After a while, Su Sheng still couldn't think of a solution; they must uncover this monster's mechanism.

"You open the recording, I'll try again!" Su Sheng said to the crowd.

"Alright!"

Then Su Sheng spurred his horse forward again.

He entered the Cave space; the stalactites lay there quietly, and the Demon Energy Well was also silent.

Su Sheng kept vigilant, inching toward the Demon Energy Well!

But after thinking, Su Sheng dismounted in one motion.

Although the Mounted State had relatively high HP, it was of little use against this strange Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit.

Better to fight on foot, more agile; this Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit is bulky and not very nimble.

Only the mechanism is nasty, and its attack is high!

Boom!

As Su Sheng approached the Demon Energy Well again, massive Demon Energy surged out!

Here it comes!

Su Sheng remained vigilant!

Swish~

Sure enough, the erupting Demon Energy coiled directly around the ground stalactites, and the special monster Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit reappeared.

Swish!

This time, at the moment the Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit formed, a sharp stalactite, under the Demon Energy's control, thrust toward Su Sheng.

Su Sheng sidestepped!

Swimming Dragon Body!

In foot combat state, Su Sheng calmly dodged this level of attack.

Then Su Sheng swung his spear, smashing it onto the stalactite!

Clap!

Shards splashed!

But...

There was no reaction at all; even the words "exempt" didn't appear.

Su Sheng frowned; previously attacks on Demon Energy were exempt, now attacks on stone elicited no reaction at all?

Then Su Sheng drew his spear and thrust it into the Demon Energy again.

Puff~

Again, there was absolutely no sensation.

The big word "exempt" seemed to taunt Su Sheng.

Boom boom boom!

At that moment, the Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit seemed enraged.

Stalactites rained down one after another.

Swimming Dragon Body~

Su Sheng swayed left and right!

Screech~!

A scorching Fire Phoenix flew over from extreme distance.

Boom!

It slammed into the Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit, the Fire Phoenix exploded, and flames swept the sky.

It looked grand in scale!

But...

That's all!

Exemption!

A massive exemption, so dazzling!

Li Wenwan stood at the extreme range, a wave of frustration.

Magic damage immunity, physical damage immunity!

What about true damage?!

Su Sheng thought of something!

"Xiao Jia Huo! Dragon Breath!"

Su Sheng directly commanded the Mythic Lion to start attacking!

Dragon Breath is true damage!

Clank clank~

The Mythic Lion flew up!

It spewed a mouthful of Dragon Breath straight forward!

Puff~

Dragon Breath struck the Demon Energy!

At the moment Dragon Breath met the black Demon Energy, the energy seemed to encounter its nemesis; under the erosion of Dragon Breath, the Demon Energy quickly melted away!

Su Sheng saw this and his face lit up; it worked!

But...

Su Sheng glanced again and frowned!

Although the Demon Energy melted quickly under Dragon Breath, no damage still emerged!

No damage! No "exemption" either, just rapid dissolution!

What is going on?!

Su Sheng's brows tightened!

Boom!

A few seconds later, a mass of Demon Energy entwining the stalactites was completely melted away by Dragon Breath!

Consequently, that huge stalactite lost its support and fell down!

But the ten seconds ran out, and Xiao Jia Huo, looking hollowed out, fell back, feebly draped over his own head.

Xiao Jia Huo's Dragon Breath can now only sustain ten seconds!

Swish swish~

And the Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit seemed to enter a berserk state!

Lines of attacks rained down like droplets!

All of them were Demon Energy entwining stalactites, crazily smashing down!

Su Sheng twisted his brows; it's too dense!

Lion Hunt!

Su Sheng directly activated Acceleration!

Then he vanished like a wisp, retreating!

Li Wenwan, unwilling to give up, attacked once, found it still ineffective, and withdrew early.

As Su Sheng also retreated, the Demon Energy dissipated again, shrinking back into the Demon Energy Well.

Clap clap~

Those unsupported stalactites fell again.

"Did you record it or not?"

Su Sheng asked.

"Recorded," Lu Zhe replied.

"Alright, we'll study it again, see how to break the deadlock; logically there should be no unbeatable situation."

Su Sheng said.

But even until the game time ended, Su Sheng had probed twice and still hadn't found a way to break the deadlock.

Even so, Su Sheng got a tingling scalp and flung a Divine Thunder Magic Light outright.

It worked!

It instantly blasted a large swath of Demon Energy, causing several stalactites to fall.

But that was all; like Xiao Jia Huo's Dragon Breath, there was no damage and no exemption appeared.

It really left Su Sheng completely frustrated.

But the game time was almost up.

"Let's log off for today! Go back and study the video carefully; Xiao Zhe, send the video over," Su Sheng said to everyone.

"Okay," Lu Zhe nodded.

Everyone felt a bit frustrated.

At first they only thought the game time wouldn't be enough to defeat the final boss, but they didn't expect this weird Dungeon to hit them head‑on.

Not to mention beating it; they couldn't even find a way to break the deadlock.

After logging off, they chatted a bit with Huan Jie.

Su Sheng was reviewing the last two hours of game footage.

After pondering, Su Sheng saw no issue.

Finally, Su Sheng simply gathered everyone together.

"What a weird monster."

After hearing Su Sheng's statement, everyone became curious.

They all knew that Su Sheng had been tackling a very difficult Dungeon these past few days.

They didn't expect the final boss of this Dungeon to be so hard to deal with?

The monster has double immunity!

True Damage can take effect, but no damage comes out.

Everyone is seeing this weird mechanic for the first time.

The group repeatedly studied the video.

"Has everyone watched the Cave? Any traps or the like?" Chen Guan asked while watching the video.

"We've seen it all; apart from a Demon Energy Well in the center, there's nothing else—just stalactites," Su Sheng replied.

Those stalactites—Su Sheng tried attacking them several times but to no effect.

"Hm?!"

Su Sheng suddenly frowned and looked at the recording again.

Before, being too involved, he seemed to have overlooked something!

Now, from a spectator's perspective, he can see something.

Demon Energy Well!

Su Sheng's eyes lit up: "I think I see where the problem is!"

The entire Cave has only this one Demon Energy Well! If there's any breakthrough point, it's the Demon Energy Well!

Moreover, the Demon Energy always retreats back into the Demon Energy Well each time; in short, the key point is that well.

"What a case of being too involved; I didn't think of this at the time," Su Sheng said with a helpless smile.

"The breakthrough point should be this Demon Energy Well."

My brain hasn't been working these days; has it rusted?

True...

However, this Demon Energy Well blends seamlessly into the Cave space, not looking out of place; it appears just like ordinary scenery.

Everyone was tangled up in the boss's dual immunity, so it's normal they temporarily ignored the Demon Energy Well.

"Right, it seems the only point is the Demon Energy Well."

Lin Huan, looking at the situation in the video, said.

"Log in tonight and try it; then we'll know," Su Sheng nodded.

Sure enough, sometimes you have to look at the problem from a different angle.

Being too involved clouds judgment, while a spectator sees clearly; the ancients' saying still holds some truth.

Regarding the guess that the Demon Energy Well is the breakthrough point, Su Sheng is about ninety percent confident.

Now we just wait to log in tonight!

When the game time arrives!

Su Sheng logged in directly.

Farming~

Everyone appeared inside the Cave.

"Brother Su!"

As soon as he logged in, Lu Zhe looked at Su Sheng and called out.

"Hm? Xiao Zhe, what's up?" Su Sheng looked at Lu Zhe.

"I think I know the breakthrough point of this mechanism; it should be that Demon Energy Well!" Lu Zhe said.

"Hm?" Su Sheng raised an eyebrow.

"You thought of it too?" Su Sheng said, surprised.

"Ah?" Lu Zhe was startled: "Brother Su also discovered it?"

"Yes, I realized it while offline watching the recording," Su Sheng nodded, looking at Lu Zhe in surprise.

Given Lu Zhe's situation, he couldn't watch the recording while offline.

So the only possibility is that after going offline, Lu Zhe was still reviewing last night's events.

Replaying it in his mind!

After all, for Lu Zhe, his life now consists of his parents and the game "Zhu Lu".

"Zhu Lu" is a rebirth for Lu Zhe.

"Let's go, we'll find out by trying," Su Sheng said with a smile.

Let's go!

Su Sheng entered the Cave space again, moving toward the Demon Energy Well.

If all goes well, we should be able to clear this Dungeon today.

This Dungeon has taken many days from start to finish; it should end now.

As Su Sheng approached.

Boom…

Demon Energy surged with a boom, once again swirling around the stalactites scattered on the ground.

An irregularly shaped ultimate Demon Energy spirit reappeared.

But this time, Su Sheng completely ignored the Demon Energy spirit before him.

Charge!

He dodged the stalactite attack of the Ultimate Demon Energy Spirit, then arrived near the Demon Energy Well.

The long spear smashed down directly.

Boom~

The spear tip directly struck the Demon Energy Well's position.

-883

Sure enough, three‑digit damage appeared.

Su Sheng's eyes lit up!

Nice partner!

The Demon Energy Well is the main thing.

A long stretch of HP—or rather, a durability bar—appeared above the Demon Energy Well's head.

Natural Demon Energy Well (orange, special landmark)

Durability: 20000000

Description: Demon Energy influences the environment, and some things are quietly changing; this is a naturally generated Demon Energy Well that nurtures Demon Energy and has given birth to a certain spiritual awareness.

This guy! He's really made people search hard.

Su Sheng directly activated a skill.

Boom boom boom!

Successive attacks bombarded the Demon Energy Well.

-1733

-2031

-993

-3077

…

That is, the Demon Energy Well's defense seems very high, comparable to those Demon Energy Spirits.

Su Sheng's successive attacks none broke ten thousand.

Others saw this situation, and obviously their eyes lit up.

Sure enough, the breakthrough point is the Demon Energy Well.
