Chapter 7: Radish Great Sword
System Announcement: Congratulations to the Huaxia region player Shen Wang, the first to reach level 10.
System Announcement: The first player to reach level 10 has appeared; the Level Ranking List is now open, the reputation system is open, and the world channel is open.
System Announcement: The National War System has not started yet; the world channel is limited to communication among players of this service.
A series of system announcements bombarded the players, leaving them dazed and sluggish.
So quickly, a level‑10 player appeared.
But Su Sheng didn't stare blankly; a flash of golden light, and as the Big Rabbit fell, a flood of experience instantly raised Su Sheng to level 6.
He reached out and scooped everything up—regardless of what it was—the items the Big Rabbit dropped were all shoved into his inventory, then he turned and ran.
A crowd of players had already gathered; if they didn't run, they'd just wait for death.
When the players finally came to their senses after the barrage of system announcements, all they saw was the back of a knight bolting away.
"Damn! The BOSS was solo‑killed by that knight!"
"How is that possible? How did he do it?"
"In front of so many of us, you tell me the BOSS was solo‑killed by a knight?"
"Why does it feel like I haven't woken up? This is still the Teng Long Company game I know, right?"
The dazed players wore bewildered expressions.
…
Su Sheng, who had already run out, glanced at the system announcement.
Shen Wang, huh, seems like an old acquaintance.
Shen Wang, Huaxia's top guild, Chairman of Huan Yu.
System broadcast announcement, Shen Wang: Everyone, pardon me, I inadvertently took first place again; Huaxia's top guild Huan Yu is recruiting talent, let us 'Zhu Lu' the world!
Su Sheng saw the scene, curled his lip, and thought the big guild really had money.
The world channel had just opened; speaking there costs 1 Gold Coin per sentence, with a 1‑minute cooldown, while broadcasting a server announcement costs a thousand Gold Coins.
In 'Zhu Lu', the currency is based on hundreds: 100 copper coins equal 1 silver coin, and 100 silver coins equal 1 Gold Coin.
Su Sheng had been grinding monsters for so long, and with the loot from that Big Rabbit BOSS just now, he only had six Gold Coins in total, five of which came from the Big Rabbit.
And in the early stage of the game, with the Recharge System still closed, Huan Yu actually spent a thousand Gold Coins to post an announcement; it really was extravagant.
But thinking about it, even the ninth‑ranked Peak Guild, that mysterious Newbie Village, can gather a few hundred people.
Let alone Huan Yu, the top guild.
By this time, they had walked far, and the surrounding forest grew increasingly dense.
Su Sheng glanced at the map.
Wild Boar Forest, red marker.
Obviously, for the current stage, it should be a dangerous area.
Ahead, faint silhouettes of monsters could be seen, sizable, apparently wild boars.
At least no players followed; it's time to see what the Big Rabbit dropped for me.
Then Su Sheng plopped down under a big tree; after pouring his whole body into that tense nerve battle for so long, he felt a bit weary.
First comes experience: because Su Sheng solo‑killed the BOSS, the level‑10 BOSS's massive experience lifted him from level 5 to 6, and his experience bar is already near full, soon reaching level 7.
Besides the five Gold Coins…
Next are the items.
A huge Rabbit Head.
Big Rabbit Head (green)
Category: Ingredient
Description: Perhaps you can use it to make a spicy rabbit head dish.
If you have the Chef secondary profession, this thing should be cookable into food with temporary added attributes.
This is also one of the highlights of a secondary profession: besides restoring hunger, it can grant temporary attributes.
Secondary professions and the like can only be explored after level 10; for now, stash it in the warehouse.
Then the second item is equipment, a very familiar thing.
The big radish the Big Rabbit was holding.
Radish Great Sword (green)
Attack: 50
Bonus: Strength +5
Requirement: Two‑handed
Level: 10
Description: Don't think it's sharp just because it's a radish; it's not keen, but its great clumsiness makes a heavy sword without a blade—one big club can smash you dead.
Good stuff; no wonder that Big Rabbit had high attack and low defense—its attack power came from this.
Calling it a two‑handed great sword is less accurate than calling it a two‑handed club.
Unfortunately it's a two‑handed weapon; although usable, it forces you to forgo a secondary weapon shield.
Thus this big radish actually suits the Warrior class better.
Next is the second item, a round, miniature rabbit head.
Is it another ingredient? How can one rabbit have two rabbit heads?
Rabbit Head Shield (green)
Defense: 40
Bonus: Constitution +5
Level: 10
Description: omitted
Good buddy, I guess I misunderstood, this is a small shield.
Just looking at that fluffy rabbit appearance, it's hard to associate it with a shield.
Speaking of which, if it can drop a shield, why is that rabbit's defense so low?
Afterwards, Su Sheng's mind conjured the image of that Da Tuzi BOSS hugging a Big Radish and hopping about.
Alright, both hands are holding the radish, even if you had a shield you wouldn't have hands.
However, unfortunately, it requires level 10 to use.
Next is the third item, a pair of wristguards.
Rabbit Fur Handguards (white)
Defense: 10
Level: 10
Description: omitted
White equipment, no additional attributes, that's it.
A level 10 Normal BOSS dropping two green, one white, three pieces of level 10 equipment is not bad.
After all, you can't expect too much from a Newbie Village BOSS; it's just a shame that this radish big stick can't be used by myself.
Su Sheng's mind involuntarily conjured Shen Wang's ID; this guy seems to be a warrior player, and in Heroes he was a top-tier warrior player.
I believe he'll still follow the old path in Chasing the Deer, and he's already level 10; if we can get in touch with him, we could probably sell this radish big stick for a good price.
Unfortunately, such celebrities will immediately block friend requests; unless they are celebrities with honorary nicknames, otherwise ordinary players really can't add such celebrities.
If Su Sheng were using an honorary nickname, perhaps he could add Shen Wang as a friend, but since it's already sealed, there's no point bringing it up.
Afterwards, Su Sheng also thought of his own Huan Jie's studio; as a studio, they definitely have warrior players, and this radish big sword could be put to use.
However, we currently don't know Huan Jie's game nickname, so we can't add as a friend either.
Alright, I'll keep it for now; later after logging off the game I'll ask Huan Jie's game nickname and then decide.
Anyway, the radish big sword requires level 10 to use; Huan Jie and her team's leveling speed couldn't possibly be as fast as Shen Wang's.
Now, I'll just continue leveling up.
Strive to reach level 10 quickly, equip that rabbit head shield and Rabbit Fur Wristband; to others it's just defense, but for Su Sheng it's both offense and defense.
First allocate points; the two free attribute points from level 6 haven't been added yet; after putting them into physique, physique reached 21 points, plus the wooden shield's defense 1 point, offense and defense reached 22 points, HP 360.
Then Su Sheng rolled up his sleeves and headed toward the wild boar in the forest ahead.
