Chapter 1216: Update Explanation
Update Explanation
It's National Day; my parents rarely get a break, they said they want to go out for a walk and asked if I'd like to join.
I instinctively said I don't rest—I won't rest at all this year.
Then I suddenly realized that, in order to type and write books, I've already sacrificed almost all my free time; I can't even keep my parents company on holidays.
Seven hours of high-intensity typing a day, and when I'm not writing I'm still pondering the plot—it's truly more exhausting than a regular job; at work you can slack off, even get paid to take a bathroom break.
Being busy is fine, but I'm busy without achieving anything.
It's been half a year since I released the book; over 2.7 million words look like a lot, and I need to update faster. But what's the use? Average subscriptions are only 150—only 150 people are willing to spend seven cents per chapter to read my book. Half the group reads for free, half reads pirated versions, and they keep urging this and that every day; I might as well pay to write the book.
Sometimes I really want to quit; going to an electronics factory to tighten screws would be better than writing.
These few months I'll finish updating the book; the next one will be as fate decides, I'll also update daily—anyway there's nothing to hope for, so I'll return to my hometown to farm, just not starving.
I also advise friends who want to write books: if you haven't fallen into the pit, don't enter; it's really disheartening, basically like going out to sell being disliked for being ugly, having a poor physique, being bad at work—no customers, no dignity, no money.
