Chapter 615: with translation of chapter title

"Mang Mei, why are you hitting me?" Xiao Feng said glumly.

"I didn't, Xiao Feng big brother... sigh, Dun Dun, why are you hitting me?"

Mang Mei was replying to him, but mid-sentence she suddenly came under attack.

Dun Dun said innocently: "It wasn't me! I was just admiring Senior Xiao Feng's gorgeous looks!"

Everyone:...

"Oh shit, Old Zhang, you actually poked my butt—are we still brothers?" Li Li also let out a sudden strange cry.

"Something's off, this place is off!"

Xing Yun Miao was flying at the rear, but because the mist blocked the view, she couldn't see anyone.

But she could see that there was no one near Li Li, and it definitely wasn't Zhang Fan attacking!

Xiao Feng also realized something was strange, frowned and said: "It must be the fifth boss impersonating teammates to attack us—everyone keep an eye on your HP and be careful!"

"Ah! I got killed!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Xing Yun Miao let out a sudden scream, her health bar emptied, and she was instantly killed at full health.

"What's going on, Sister Miao?" everyone wondered.

Xing Yun Miao's corpse fell from the sky, and her unicorn mount was automatically retrieved.

She exclaimed in shock: "The notification I got said Xiao Feng was attacking me, and one skill hit me for 1.6 billion!"

"Holy shit!"

"Holy shit??"

"Could it be that the number‑5 boss can copy our attributes and sneak‑attack others?"

They all considered that possibility.

It was impossible for them to attack each other—they hadn't lifted a finger just moments before.

Yet the damage they took was just as real—Mang Mei hitting Xiao Feng, Dun Dun hitting Mang Mei, the damage was exactly the same as if they themselves had struck.

When it came to Xing Yun Miao, the damage attributed to "Xiao Feng" hit her and instantly killed her!

"Everyone gather, heal up, boost defense, watch for stealth!" Zhang Fan shouted.

"I got hit by Senior Li's attack!" Dun Dun shouted right after.

Everyone stopped advancing, began to tighten their formation, and moved toward the direction where Xing Yun Miao's corpse had fallen.

Poof!

Xiao Feng was shot again by "Mang Mei" with an arrow, taking another several tens of thousands of damage.

The distance between them closed, and they could now see each other.

They lowered their altitude and descended toward the ground.

During the descent, Mang Mei's body suddenly jerked, as if struck by a spear, and a -80,000 damage appeared above her head.

"What on earth is attacking us?" Xiao Feng and the others were utterly bewildered.

"Group heal!"

Li Li raised his staff and cast a group heal.

A burst of white light spread out, each

Each person's health recovered by over 200,000.

Bang!

Just after raising his health, his body staggered, he fell off his mount's back and dropped from the sky.

"Old Xiao, save me!" Li Li shouted.

Falling from over thirty meters up wouldn't kill him, but this place is too eerie, and everyone felt a bit panicked.

Xiao Feng chased after him on the wind and grabbed the falling Li Li.

At that moment Zhang Fan said: "I feel… I might get insta‑killed."

As soon as he finished speaking.

Poof~

An invisible skill appeared, and a damage of several billion appeared above his head, following in Xing Yun Miao's footsteps, he was killed by "Xiao Feng".

"Holy shit, what the heck is up with this boss?"

Everyone became even more panicked.

After finally landing on the ground, they were already down two members.

The corpses of Xing Yun Miao and Zhang Fan were over forty meters apart, the surrounding ground was uneven, and scattered rocks lay everywhere.

"Old Li, hurry up and pull people! Use group resurrection!" Xiao Feng shouted.

Another round of "mutual attack" was about to begin, and they had to act quickly.

Li Li reacted quickly, immediately beginning to chant the group resurrection skill,

Mang Mei also wasn't idle; after stowing her mount, she immediately activated the archer class's anti‑stealth skill "True Vision".

However, even True Vision could not locate the monster's silhouette.

"I'll protect everyone!"

Dun Dun took out a new shield, activated the knight's damage‑bearing skill, a halo of light appeared around him, linking everyone together to share the damage.

With a thought, Xiao Feng's primal-attribute divine power flowed forth, and a layer of Spiritual Barrier spread outward from him as the center.

Through sensing with his divine power, if the Spiritual Barrier touched a monster, he could immediately detect it.

The Spiritual Barrier instantly expanded to a radius of three meters, encompassing everyone, yet nothing abnormal was found.

But at that moment, another damage from Mang Mei appeared on his body!

"Mang Mei, watch out—it's your turn!"

The order of taking damage is fixed; everyone has already realized this issue.

Zhang Fan and Xing Yun Miao both got up, and their two healing skills restored HP to full.

They had just gotten up when Mang Mei lost a chunk of HP, still from Dun Dun's strike.

"This boss is ridiculous; it clearly has no invisibility, yet even Old Xiao can't detect it—how is it hitting us?" Zhang Fan wondered.

They all didn't understand what kind of mechanism this was.

"Don't move, I'm taking off my gear!"

At this moment, Xiao Feng suddenly said.

His damage is too high,

any strike instantly kills someone.

He must reduce his own stats as much as possible to prevent teammates from being killed.

He took off all equipment that boosted attack, lowering his attack to only 8000 points.

But 8000 attack can still instantly kill any teammate!

He glanced at his backpack, then pulled out two divine medicines and swallowed them.

【Reckless Potion】: Grade 1 Divine Medicine, reduces 95% intelligence, converts to 10x strength, lasts 300 seconds

【Immobile Elixir】: Grade 2 Divine Medicine, reduces 90% attack, increases 1200% defense, lasts 300 seconds

He had always thought he'd never get a chance to use this self‑attack‑reducing potion, but he never expected it to come in handy now.

The Reckless Potion takes effect before the Immobile Elixir; with no equipment equipped, Xiao Feng's attack mainly comes from his intelligence stat.

Reducing intelligence by 95% leaves only 400 points of magic attack.

With 400 attack calculated via the Source Needle, damage still reaches up to 150 million; even with teammates' high defense and damage reduction, there's still a chance of being instantly killed.

Then he reduced it another 90%, leaving only 40 attack!

At this moment, Xiao Feng is the weakest he's been since leaving the newbie village!

At this point his Source Needle panel damage is about 15 million, but taking into account teammates' defense, damage reduction, and defense buffs, he should actually only be able to deal around six to seven hundred thousand damage.

Mang Mei, who has the least HP, now has 1.1 million HP, which should be enough to withstand it.

Changing gear and taking medicine is quick; while Xiao Feng was weakening himself, Li Li took a hit.

Next was Xing Yun Miao.

Pfft~

She frowned and said, "Xiao Feng hit me for 500k damage… Dun Dun absorbed part of it."

Everyone secretly let out a sigh of relief.

At least they weren't instantly killed.

With 500k damage, she and Li Li can each fill it with a single‑target heal, so there's no danger now.

But this is only a temporary lifesaver; it can't solve the difficulty of this stage.

"Let's head deeper into the valley; the boss probably isn't nearby," Xiao Feng proposed.

"Yeah, everyone stick close together so it's easier to heal."

The six team members huddled together, Xiao Feng leading the way, Zhang Fan bringing up the rear, and the two healers in the middle providing healing and defense buffs.

Zhang Fan took damage from Xing Yun Miao, Dun Dun from Li Li—none of it fatal.

Xiao Feng thought of a problem: "A normal team wouldn't have someone with my high attack; this mutual‑attack mechanic wouldn't instantly kill anyone. So this should just be an entry‑level test, not core gameplay. Let's hurry and find the boss before my buff potion runs out."
