——Liu Guozong Spring Diary Fifty-one

Someone told me such a story: there was a little girl who took the 1 yuan her mother gave her, went to the downstairs store to buy snacks to eat. Beside the street she saw an old beggar who was begging along the street.

The little girl felt great sympathy for the old beggar before her; she walked up to the old beggar and said to her, "Granny, I'll give you one yuan, you give me back five jiao, okay?" The old beggar happily accepted.

The little girl took the five jiao change from the old beggar, bought a string of candied haws, and ate it, feeling very sweet and happy.

I was moved by this simple story. How pure and lovely this little girl is; she devoted half of the love in her heart to the weak, and kept half for herself.

She made me understand what true love in the human world is in today's consumer society.

The Buddha said: Even a small good deed should be done.
