221 chapters, O youth goddess....

221 chapters, please, spring goddess...

――Liu Guozong Spring Diary Chapter Fifty-Three

In ancient Greek mythology, there is a story of returning to youth from old age. The hero Iason, seeing his dear father at the victory celebration, felt deep sorrow as he was about to depart from this world.

Iason wept and begged the heavenly messenger Mei Ya, to take a few years from his own lifespan and give them to his father, who was in his twilight years, so that his father might regain youth. The heavenly messenger agreed to his request and prayed to God.

Iason knelt on the hard ground, stretched his hands toward the starry sky and prayed: "O night, please guard my secret; O earth, please prepare for me boundless magical herbs; O starry sky, please lend me a flying dragon chariot that can travel ten thousand miles a day; O youth goddess, I now need immortal dew, to make the elderly regain youth and return to boyhood."

Look, what a beautiful wish. Let the elderly gain youth and return to boyhood. Can this dream be realized?

The poet said――

"When all my relatives feel

my day-by-day aging.

When all my friends see

the wind and frost I have endured

Those fleeting years, oh,

How can I meet you?

When time comes surging like a tide,

O watcher on the shore,

you still hold in your heart

that mountain-like lushness?

Return to youth......

"
