In ancient Greek mythology there is a story of an old child player. The hero Iason, at the celebration of victory festival, sees his dear father about to depart from the world and feels very sad.

Iason begged the divine messenger Mei Ya to take a few years from his own lifespan and give them to his wind‑candle‑aged father, so that his father could return to youth. The divine messenger agreed to his request and prayed to heaven and earth.

Iason knelt on the hard ground, stretched his hands toward the starry sky and prayed: "O night, please guard my secret; O earth, please prepare boundless‑power herbs for me; O starry sky, lend me a carriage of flying dragons that can travel ten thousand miles a day; O goddess of youth, I now need immortal dew to make the old regain youth and return to boyhood."

Look, what a beautiful wish. Let the old regain youth and return to boyhood. Can this dream be realized?

The poet said――

"When all my relatives feel

my gradual aging,

when all my friends see

the wind and frost I have endured,

those fleeting years,

how can I meet you?

When time comes flooding in like a tide,

O watcher on the shore,

you still hold fast in your heart

that mountain‑like lush greenness?

that time of youth,

Will it happen again?
