1o1 article,

Cannot go "blindly venturing" or "recklessly venturing".

Liu Guozong

Liu Guozong, "Rather be shattered jade than intact tile." The people of the CCTV series "Chuang Guandong" choose the way of "shattered jade". Not venturing, one just waits at home to starve to death, freeze to death; to be bullied to death, trampled to death. Die like wild grass, self-growing and self-perishing, dying silently and unnoticed. Not venturing, one can never turn the heart's dream into reality; having a dream but not striving, not struggling, not sacrificing one's life for it, that dream, no matter how beautiful, is merely clouds in the sky, ripples in the water.

But, this "venturing" comes at a cost. This cost is to use life as "collateral". Even a woman as fragile as unable to withstand the wind says; "In life, be an outstanding person; in death, be a heroic ghost."

But, "Chuang Guandong" is not about going "blindly venturing", "recklessly venturing". "Chuang Guandong" is to venture with a goal, with direction; it is to venture carrying a beautiful dream. Just as in the Bible, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, first choosing the forward destination—the beautiful land of Canaan. The "destination" must be good; choosing the wrong "destination" leads onto the evil path, and no matter how hard you strive, it is a dead end.

In my mind, every person who ventures Chuang Guandong: "Whether he is strong or weak; every bright person, whether noble or humble; every person who loves a genuine life, whether he is before people or a bandit refugee; every person solemnly standing before day and night, whether he is a philosopher or a vineyard keeper." They are all "outstanding individuals".

Lin Ken and the spy

Liu Guozong

During the Meiguo Bei Fang Nan Fang civil war, Bei Fang captured a Nan Fang who came to Bei Fang to spy on military secrets, destroy military facilities, spread rumors and deceive the masses. This spy, imprisoned in jail, knowing his crimes were enormous and heinous, impossible to return alive. He constantly cursed Lin Ken in prison, accusing him of false benevolence and righteousness, wearing a false mask, practicing false morality, violating the will of the Nan Fang people, being a historical sinner, the public enemy of the people. But the fact is: Lin Ken advocated abolishing slavery of black people and gave them freedom; he is a historical meritorious official, a friend of the people.

The prison officials in charge could no longer bear it; each one gritted their teeth in hatred, everyone said: "Let's execute him by shooting!" However, executing such a spy requires the president's order. Thus, the prison officials took the Nan Fang spy's unrepentant behavior in prison and various slanderous insults toward the president, reported them to the president, and requested the president issue the order: "Execute him!"

When the Nan Fang spy heard that the prison officials had already requested President Lin Ken to have him executed, he cursed even more fiercely: "Just go ahead and die well."

Soon the prison officials finally received the president's written order. The prison officials, holding the president's document, came to the cell door where the Nan Fang spy was detained, and said to the spy who cursed Lin Ken as a turtle: "The president's order has been signed; your death is imminent. Don't spout nonsense anymore; prepare to die! If you have any words to pass to your family, speak quickly, otherwise it will be too late." Upon hearing that the president's order had arrived, the spy's soul fled heavenwards.

When the prison officials opened and announced the president's order, however, it was another result: "Immediately release him, restore his freedom, provide sufficient travel expenses, and escort him home."

Lin Ken's magnanimity earned him acclaim from the Meiguo Bei Fang Nan Fang peoples. In the acclaim of the Bei Fang Nan Fang peoples, Lin Ken also won victory in the North-South war.
