Can God do this kind of rough work?

Liu Guozong

After waking from a dream, I heard the window's "chickens clucking", knowing I was still alive in the human world, while in the dream I was in heaven.

It's a pity that in heaven I didn't see the Garden of Eden that God originally created for humanity; I didn't see all kinds of pleasing trees, let alone the fruit of the tree of life distinguishing good and evil; I also didn't hear the sound of river water. God said there would be gold, pearls, and agate by the river.

I didn't see any of those. Xiawa and Yadang also didn't know where they went.

I once read such a passage describing heaven:

In heaven, one need not work, need not study; nothing requires effort. In heaven, people eat bison meat and whale meat, drink the nectar God brewed especially for the righteous; people sleep until dawn, and no one needs to do anything.

I once had doubts about this description: if nobody works, does nothing, does not study, where would the food come from? Where would so much bison meat and whale meat come from? Even if there were that many bison and whales, people would have to catch, slaughter, fry, and roast them—so who would be the ones catching the bison and whales?

If in heaven everyone's nectar is brewed by God, then God couldn't do anything else; just brewing this wine would be enough to keep him busy.

God is the master of heaven and earth; how could he do such rough work?

If I saw the God who brews wine, I would certainly ask him in person to clear up my doubts.

And I didn't see any of those.

The scene I saw in heaven was like this: there was a crowd of people surrounding me, I couldn't tell their gender—there could be men and women—but I couldn't make out their faces.

I also couldn't hear their voices clearly. They just kept shouting, clinging to me, demanding that I tell them how: "to enter heaven."

I was made dizzy by their constant nagging, because I didn't know where heaven was or how to get in. But no matter how I explained, they wouldn't listen; they unanimously believed I knew where heaven was and knew the way to enter.

Being entangled by them made me feel very pleased, happy, and honored.

While I was feeling pleased, happy, and honored, "Suddenly my soul trembled and my spirit stirred; startled, I rose and let out a long sigh. All I felt was that the pillow and mat beneath me had lost their former mist and clouds."

I woke up, and nothing remained; everything had vanished like smoke. When all that was in the dream drifted away from me, I did not feel empty; instead, I felt fulfilled.
