Chapter 673: January 10: A Poet Is Calling Out

~3 min read 477 words

January 10: A poet is calling out.

January 10: A poet is calling out.

The sky remains overcast, with not a glimmer of sunlight visible, nor a trace of spring.

Spring, where are you?

Who is shouting loudly on the early spring earth――――

I say, winter will pass and spring won't be far off.....

I say, time is delivering spring, moment by moment.....

I say, how lovely is a spring morning? Birds sing on the branches, the willow breeze blows gently; the fluttering sleeves, a quiet mood, the beautiful person, the beautiful story, once again moving and living in this world......

I say, this vast world is ever-changing, and I am merely a detail in the stories of countless beings.

I say, don't measure your life with "yesterday was…, today will be…, tomorrow will be…".

The Lord says, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add a single moment to your lifespan? Why worry about clothing? Consider how the lilies of the field grow: they neither labor nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. O you of little faith, the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will God clothe you? Therefore, do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day's trouble is sufficient for that day.

Yes, Lord, you are right; we are worrying about tomorrow—worrying about what we will eat, drink, wear, and live in. We cannot be like the birds, free of worry, soaring effortlessly in the sky. We are human; besides eating and wearing clothes, we have a special mission: we must make our earthly home even more beautiful! Our dissatisfaction is also our driving force!

Listen, a poet is calling out――――

"Earth, my mother!"

I have been, I am, I will be,

Food is you, clothing is you, dwelling is you,

How can I possibly repay your deep kindness?

………………………………….

Earth, my mother!

From now on I will repay your deep kindness,

I know you love me and yet you make me work,

I will learn to labor like you, never ceasing!
