The Quality of Life

March 21: The Quality of Life

In the spring night, I quietly hoped and waited.; hoping and waiting for tomorrow's sunshine to be brighter and clearer than yesterday's; also hoping and waiting for the people around me, that tomorrow they would be closer and better than yesterday.

I just hoped and waited ignorantly for an unknown future.

To the world, I have nothing left to say; I can only hope and wait with a sincere and reverent heart.

In the midst of hoping and waiting, my spirit admonishes: be a sincere person. For only a sincere person can exert their innate nature; only by exerting their innate nature can they become one with heaven and earth. The benevolent and aspiring of ancient and modern times were first sincere people. Whether they conducted themselves or pursued truth, they all had a sincere heart. When they pursued truth, they first started from the subtleties of things, and from those subtleties reached the realm of sincerity.

Sincerity is to perfect oneself; while truth can guide the path one should walk in life. This is my spirit's admonition to me.

My spirit also admonishes me: sincerity is the beginning and end of things; in this world, without sincerity there would be no myriad things.

Therefore, the Gentleman treasures sincerity. Sincerity is not enough merely to perfect oneself; sincerity can also perfect all things, and perfect the quality of one's life.

This quality of life is benevolence, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Therefore, we should practice truth and sincerity; we should love others as ourselves, love the world with all our intention, heart, nature, and strength……

Night, a quiet night. Birds sleep in the forest. In the quiet spring night I hope and wait; hoping and waiting for the flowers to bloom and fall.

"Bird child, oh, sleeping bird child, hear my words: do not droop your wings that strive to fly; 'also do not love sleep, lest you become poor; open your eyes, you shall eat your fill.' 'Lazy person, go observe the ants' actions, and you can gain wisdom. Ants have no commander, no officials, no king, yet they store food in summer and gather grain at harvest. Lazy person, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up?'"

Now it is a spring night, haven't you heard the saying **an instant is worth a thousand gold**?

I cannot always complain about fate, although it has repeatedly toyed with me. For fate only deceives my youth, yet has not deceived my life. "Yes, brother, I still have some left. Fate has not taken everything from me. I am still hoping and waiting, hoping and waiting for the flowers to bloom and fall, hoping and waiting for the beautiful arrival of tomorrow."

But my spirit also admonishes me: "Do not use your own language to measure past and future. For 'those who go, yesterday's day cannot be retained,' that is a period of gone and not returning time, which no one can keep; whereas the future is something no one can foresee."

Therefore, "Whatever you ought to do, do it with all your strength, for in the netherworld you must go to, there is no work, no scheming, no knowledge, and even if there is, there is no wisdom."……\\
