Chapter 760: Kongzi's beautiful dream
Kongzi's beautiful dream
April 11: Kongzi's beautiful dream
As long as one is a person, one will dream, and also likes to have beautiful dreams..
To dream of Zhou Gong is Kongzi's lifelong wish; to realize Zhou Gong's "Classic of Rites" ideal is Kongzi's lifelong pursuit.
Kongzi took others' ideals and wishes as his own; it shows that even a sage can be foolish.
Kongzi once said, if it does not conform to the Classic of Rites, he does not look; if it does not conform, he does not listen; if it does not conform, he does not act. This Kongzi was also pedantic; fortunately Kongzi was born two thousand years ago, if he were born in the present age, he would only be able to live in the Peach Blossom Spring of his dreams.
How could the things in that dream be true? Unless one is a poet, or those who like to fantasize. In that case, Kongzi is not only a man of letters, but also a poet.
That Kongzi is a man of letters, there is no dispute; saying Kongzi is a poet, not many would say: "This makes sense," right?
If one says that the love poet in the Classic of Poetry was written by Kongzi, would anyone believe it?
Please first look at the plot of the love poem "Guan Ju" in the Classic of Poetry——
A young man, seeing a girl gathering wild vegetables by the river, this girl was gentle and pretty, slender and fair. The young man could not help but fall in love, he fell in love.
It was unrequited love.
The young man dreamed at night of the pretty girl gathering wild vegetables by the river. During the day he could not approach the girl he admired to talk of love, so he did so in his dreams. After waking, he repeatedly thought of ideas to pursue her. At dawn he waited in the thickets by the river, tailing and following the girl.
The pretty girl gathering wild vegetables by the river finally agreed to marry the young man who pursued her. The young man finally realized his beautiful wish and ideal from his dream.
Why did Kongzi place this poem about pursuing love first among the Three Hundred Poems? Some say it expresses Kongzi's approval of free love. That also makes sense—
That young man took a liking to the beautiful girl gathering wild vegetables by the river; after a period of mutual pursuit, the girl agreed, they freely united—what a happy marriage this is.
But this reason seems a bit forced and unconvincing. I believe that love poem was written by Kongzi himself. For such an obscure and profound classic as the Classic of Documents, he could organize it and also write the Classic of Spring and Autumn Annals that astonishes everyone under heaven; such a talented person, writing a love poem is no small feat.
To say that the author of the first love poem in the Classic of Poetry is Kongzi is unreasonable; if it's unreasonable, can it be said? My basis is—
