512 chapters, another newly appeared in the Absolute Flirting Valley…

――――A red apricot branch sticking out of the wall

Just now I slightly diverted the topic: Zhuangzi, speaking to King Wen of Zhao about the Heavenly Sovereign's Sword, the Feudal Lords' Sword, and the Commoners' Sword, crossing over to what Confucius said.

Actually it's not that far off, because Zhuangzi and Confucius are fellow disciples; they both studied under Laozi and learned the arts. They both learned well, each achieved some accomplishments, and each founded their own school.

Confucius founded the school called Confucianism; Zhuangzi, together with his teacher, founded the school called Daoism.

This is something everyone knows, no need for me to elaborate. I only say that everyone still doesn't know, and moreover wants to know――――

Besides teaching his disciples scholarship, what else did Laozi teach his disciples? Did Laozi show favoritism toward that disciple?

Laozi only ever took two disciples in his lifetime—namely the two just mentioned. One is Zhuangzi; after studying under Laozi, the teacher gave him an online name, Zhuang Zhou, and he himself came up with a pen name, Zixiu. These are just random nonsense, meaningless; perhaps it's just a fashion. Like those bizarre online names nowadays—for example, 'Liu Guozong, Six Willows Mister'—what does that signify? It's like a little weed by the village stream, growing silently in the sunshine, sometimes blooming tiny wild flowers, releasing fragrance from life; still silently. Truly fun......

Later, Zhuangzi, in a desolate village ridge, became Laozi's disciple to study the arts. Zhuangzi greatly admired his teacher, inheriting and even innovating upon the teacher's teachings—'The Dao that can be spoken is not the eternal Dao; the name that can be named is not the eternal name'—and so, disregarding poverty, he went on a carefree roaming.......

Laozi saw that Zhuangzi was a good person, very loyal to the Dao he founded, so he especially favored Zhuangzi and personally taught him, hand over hand, the three sword styles he had secretly learned—namely the ones he spoke of to King Wen of Zhao: the Heavenly Sovereign's Sword, the Feudal Lords' Sword, and the Commoners' Sword.

Laozi thought Zhuangzi was a good person, very loyal to the Dao he had founded, so he especially favored Zhuangzi and thus personally taught him the three sword techniques he had secretly learned, hand over hand: the 'Emperor's Sword', the 'Feudal Lords' Sword', and the 'Commoner's Sword'—the same three he had taught Zhao Wenwang.

In Jin Yong's 'The Return of the Condor Heroes', he described various sword styles: some that kick up sand and stones, some that cut stone like mud, some that are unpredictable, and some…

I have read Jin Yong's 'The Return of the Condor Heroes' many times; in hot weather I sweated profusely, yet I could find nowhere the sword techniques Zhuangzi spoke of—the Heavenly Sovereign's Sword and the Feudal Lords' Sword.....

The sword techniques Jin Yong wrote are nothing special. Just a few flashy moves to scare people, and that's it. Not impressive, just for amusement. They all belong to the Commoners' Sword. So I always thought, if Jin Yong knew that Zhuangzi had the Heavenly Sovereign's Sword and the Feudal Lords' Sword techniques, he would certainly seek instruction from Zhuangzi. Then he would hide these techniques in an ancient tomb deep in the mountains, in the Absolute Flirting Valley, placed there by a reclusive master. And have Xiao Longnu guard it, finally presenting it to Yang Xiaodi, who loves him eternally........

The sword techniques Jin Yong wrote are not that good. Just putting on a show, doing a few moves to scare people, and that's it. Nothing special, just to fool people. All belong to the 'Commoner's Sword'. So I always think, if Jin Yong knew that Zhuangzi had the sword techniques of the 'Emperor's Sword' and the 'Feudal Lords' Sword', he would certainly ask Zhuangzi for instruction. Then he would hide these sword techniques in an ancient tomb in the deep mountains' 'Love-less Valley' kept by a reclusive master, and have Xiao Longnu guard it, and finally offer it to and hand it over to Yang Xiaodi, who loves him eternally........

It's a pity that the Great Hero Jin didn't write it, or perhaps he still doesn't know, whether there exist such sword techniques as the Heavenly Sovereign's Sword, the Feudal Lords' Sword, and the Commoners' Sword?

I have long known of these three sword techniques; I lack the patience to write them, or perhaps I have the patience but lack the talent of the Great Hero Jin. The latter is the truth. So I will let Zhuangzi, in front of King Wen of Zhao, speak out these three techniques I know, and announce them to the world.

Friends with such ambition can, based on the material I provide, create a new martial arts work even more impressive than the Great Hero Jin's 'The Return of the Condor Heroes', which will surely gain fame under heaven………………..

Zhuangzi, speaking to King Wen of Zhao about the three swords, has only spoken of two so far; there remains…………………………….
