Chapter 64o, the Two Demon Chiefs laughed and said...

In the previous Classic of Documents, it was said that the Sun Wukong hanging in the cave used his own monkey hair to turn into a fake Sun Wukong, while the real Sun Wukong leapt outside the cave to challenge the enemy formation.

The little demon guarding the mountain gate outside the cave reported to the drinking great demon and second demon the situation of Sun Wukong outside the cave in detail.

Upon hearing that another Sun Wukong had arrived, the great demon was greatly startled.

The second demon said: "Brothers, don't panic. Just keep drinking and eating. Even if ten thousand eight thousand Sun Wukongs came, you wouldn't fear them. Don't I have the Mountain-Guarding Treasure Red Gourd? After I finish my drink, I'll go outside the cave and use the Red Gourd to capture that Sun Wukong—that's all. What do I have to fear from a bird? Even if all the little monkeys of Huaguo Shan came, I wouldn't fear them. When soldiers come, we meet them with generals; when water comes, we block it with earth. If Sun Wukong comes, I'll stop him!"

This second demon usually talks nonsense, speaking with exaggerated grandeur, able to turn sesame into watermelon. After drinking a few more cups of liquor today, his speech became even more baseless.

Thus, alcohol is not a good thing; it is a secondary poison.

The second demon raised his wine cup and said to the great demon: 'Elder brother, our bond is deep; let's drink this in one gulp. After you finish this cup, I'll take the Red Gourd to capture Sun Wukong and bring him back.'

The great demon, invigorated by the second demon's words, said: 'Second brother, you're loyal. Come on. Bottoms up! Bottoms up! Bottoms up!'

The great demon was also a wine bag and rice sack, a clumsy lecher. Having just heard that another Sun Wukong had appeared outside the cave, he was startled, but after the second demon's boast, he was no longer afraid. Then he and the second demon drank several rounds of liquor.

After the second demon had eaten and drunk his fill, he staggered, picked up the Red Gourd, and said: 'You brats, where is the monkey head on Huaguo Shan? Let me go capture him.'

The little demon guarding the mountain gate said: 'Second demon chief, that monkey head has been shouting outside the gate for a while.'

'Good! You brat, go tell that monkey head whether he's come looking for death. Tell him to scram immediately; wherever he came from, let him go back there. Otherwise, he'll regret it.'

'Yes!' The little demon guarding the mountain gate replied repeatedly, ran out of the gate to tell Sun Wukong the second demon's words, urging him to run fast, otherwise if the second demon came out, Sun Wukong's life would be over.

No sooner said than done; in the blink of an eye the second demon emerged from the gate and stood before Wukong.

The second demon sized up Sun Wukong. The Sun Wukong outside the cave and the one hanging inside were quite similar. The one inside was a bit thinner, while the one outside was a bit fatter and taller. Actually, the Sun Wukong outside and inside the cave were exactly the same—just one Sun Wukong. It was the second demon who mis saw, his vision blurred from drinking too much liquor, making him dizzy.

The second demon pointed at Sun Wukong and said: 'Where do you come from, monkey? Report your name quickly, or you'll die.'

Sun Wukong saw the second demon swaying from drink and laughed: 'I am the eldest brother of Sun Wukong from Huaguo Shan; the one you captured and hung in the cave is my second brother. Having heard that my second brother was captured by you, I came from Huaguo Shan to rescue him. Demon, sharpen your eyes; quickly release my second brother, and you'll get a reward; otherwise, I won't spare you.'

The second demon laughed: 'Ha! You seem to have some background and speak boldly. Today I'll let you, the eldest brother, taste the might of this second demon of Pingdingshan.'

Wukong also laughed: 'My boy, if you have any special tricks, bring them out and let this old monkey have a taste! Show me some respect. My second brother is faithfully protecting the Tang monk on his journey to the West to obtain scriptures; you bandits, ruffians, scoundrels, and corrupt officials insist on capturing his master and disciple to eat them—isn't that wicked?'

The second demon laughed: 'How dare you, monkey, speak without knowing good from evil? We demons come into this world to do evil; we ourselves are evil, and this evil exists specifically to oppose goodness. Without evil, where would goodness come from?...'
