Chapter 1197: with translation of chapter title
Liu Zewei was very excited; the teaching Shou Bing he had long awaited finally arrived.
Once I watched Gao Shaojie surpass from a position slightly weaker than mine, yet there was nothing I could do; the technical barrier is not so easily surpassed.
From then on, he had this plan.
Just that when people reach middle age, making decisions is easy, but actually implementing them is especially laborious.
All the way from Hai Cheng to Sheng Cheng then to Di Du, a man in his forties, considered to have abandoned family and business.
Not for money, not for fame, only to pursue progress in Technique. This point, Liu Zewei sometimes thinks, he also feels proud of himself for being able to make such a choice.
After disinfecting, laying out the drapes, Liu Zewei also felt some emotion; these little chores, he hadn't done for many years. Looking back at Zheng Lao Ban checking the films one last time, he called out, Zheng Ren went to scrub his hands.
Liu Zewei stood before the operating table, his excited hand trembling a bit; he hesitated a moment, not knowing whether he should stand in the surgeon's position or the assistant's position.
Zheng Ren finished scrubbing, Hu Yan Hui put the live broadcast glasses on him; seeing Liu Zewei standing outside the operating table, hands raised, looking uneasy, he smiled and said: "Old Liu, I'll do the first case, you watch closely. The remaining five, you do and I'll guide."
"Okay." Liu Zewei immediately agreed.
This should be the closest I've recently gotten to watching Zheng Lao Ban's Shou Bing; I must watch carefully, not missing any detail.
Calm mind, Liu Zewei began preparations.
Zheng Ren took the surgeon's position, greeted Hu Yan Hui, the live broadcast began. Liu Zewei instantly felt immense pressure, just like when he first performed Shou Bing years ago.
Before, he was just a small doctor in the Radiology Department.
After failing the college entrance exam, he went to a school that had just been upgraded to a bachelor's level, studying a relatively obscure major: radiology imaging.
Fortunately, this was the only specialized imaging major in the country at the time; after graduation he was directly assigned to the Radiology Department of the Provincial Hospital.
Ordinary people would just get by at this point, but Liu Zewei didn't. He was unwilling to spend his life merely as an imaging doctor; he wanted to get on the operating table to perform surgery, to become a respected doctor.
After careful analysis, at that time Interventional surgery had just begun worldwide. He didn't rush, but accumulated technical expertise. After waiting about ten years, when Interventional surgery entered the country, Liu Zewei knew his opportunity had arrived.
He began reviewing for exams, became a graduate student in his thirties, and only returned home after obtaining his Doctorate. But when he graduated and came home, what awaited him was a divorce agreement.
The separation lasted too long; any feelings would deteriorate. As for this, Liu Zewei also had no recourse.
He also admitted he was at fault, and believed that after becoming a Team-leading Professor at the Provincial Hospital, everything would get back on track, and past matters would not happen again.
But only when he saw Gao Shaojie's technical level greatly improve did he realize that his deep-seated frenzy for pursuing Technique had never changed.
The growth path of a mature doctor is so long that……
"Pa." His wrist ached, Liu Zewei startled.
"Shou Bing, focus, don't be tense." Zheng Ren's indifferent voice came over.
Liu Zewei sweated profusely; was he really tense? Possibly, otherwise why would he think of his ex-wife from over a decade ago?
He didn't continue lamenting, but immediately cooperated earnestly with the Shou Bing.
Puncture, place the puncture kit, step on the line, inject contrast, reach position, puncture, deploy stent. Each step is simple, clear, and obvious.
There isn't a step Liu Zewei doesn't know, yet he feels he didn't understand any step.
All the steps he had rehearsed countless times in his mind; plus watching Gao Shaojie do it, doing it himself, and also Zheng Lao Ban's Surgery live broadcast—he missed none. He originally thought his level wouldn't be as high as Zheng Lao Ban's, but watching he could still understand.
But,
The more he understood,
the more he felt he didn't understand.
The turbulence problem caused by portal blood flow and vascular endothelium—how did Zheng Lao Ban solve it? It looks effortless, but Liu Zewei knows the simpler it appears, the more technical substance it contains.
Shou Bing looks simple, but behind it lies unknown amounts of effort and painstaking dedication, only then can it appear effortless.
The first Shou Bing ended without incident.
Liu Zewei didn't have time to raise questions; he began sending the patient off the table, and Doctor Shen Boshi took the patient back to the ward.
The second Shou Bing was finally about to begin. The patient lay on the operating table; Liu Zewei didn't directly scrub and disinfect, but went to Zheng Ren's side, pointing at the portal vein position on the film, voicing his inner doubt.
"Here." Zheng Ren thought a bit, somewhat regretfully saying: "Old Liu, you came late."
Liu Zewei's heart jolted; he felt as if he had missed a hundred million.
"Recently we did an anatomy lesson; it might help you. Let me think, if possible, let's schedule another anatomy lesson soon." Zheng Ren said.
"Anatomy?" Liu Zewei asked, confused.
"Um, using anatomy to clarify the site on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance diffusion; it looks very clear, doing it once you'll roughly understand what's going on. But the problem of turbulence arising from friction between blood flow speed and Blood Vessel endothelium, I temporarily can't explain." Zheng Ren said.
Having said that, Liu Zewei suddenly felt relieved.
What Zheng Lao Ban said was very down-to-earth; he couldn't explain it. In other words, it's a kind of naive feel, not some technical difficulty he doesn't know.
After asking several points of doubt, Zheng Ren gave answers one by one; Liu Zewei then went to disinfect, lay out the drapes, and prepared to begin the second Shou Bing.
In the operating room, Feng Xu Hui sat on the sofa, seriously looking through the lead glass at the Shou Bing inside.
"Manager Feng, can you understand?" Liu Xiao Jie had always been doubtful about this; she finally couldn't help asking.
"I can't understand." Feng Xu Hui answered truthfully.
"But why are you so focused?" Liu Xiao Jie felt contempt inside, yet still asked respectfully.
"I'm watching to see if Zheng Lao Ban's Shou Bing will encounter problems, what consumables are needed, and whether we have them prepared." Feng Xu Hui said; while speaking, his eyes never glanced at Liu Xiao Jie even once, fixedly staring at the inside of the operating room.
The occasional flash of the Hemostatic Forceps appears; the Shou Bing is a bit slow, but not too slow. Feng Xu Hui has grown accustomed to seeing Chief Zheng waving the Hemostatic Forceps to knock other doctors; it seems only this scene is correct.
"Tch," as if he truly understood, Liu Xiao Jie looked at Feng Xu Hui's profile, so focused and earnest; her contempt gradually turned into puzzlement and curiosity.
Every success isn't without cause; perhaps this is Manager Feng's path to success? Liu Xiao Jie prepares to study it well.
……
……
Recommend this book, "I Really Am Immortal"; a friend recommended it half a year ago; these days during rest I snatched a glance twice; the beginning is really well written, considered fairly good prose and conception. Only regrettable is lack of time; I'll have to wait until the live broadcast room finishes the book before I can read it; a pity.
