Chapter 1379: 1338 Mouth-to-Mouth Phlegm Suction (Part 2)
Zheng Ren probed deep with his right hand, stimulating the patient's throat so the upper respiratory fluid coughed out on its own. Meanwhile he inhaled forcefully, creating negative pressure in his mouth, performing mouth-to-mouth phlegm suction.
After three seconds, Zheng Ren lifted his head, picked up the sterile gauze covering the patient, and wiped his mouth.
A large mouthful of sticky bloody phlegm was sucked out.
He took a deep breath and repeated the procedure.
After sucking out five mouthfuls of phlegm, Zheng Ren felt the small patient's agitation lessen considerably.
Looking at the small patient, she was in hemorrhagic shock and unconscious, but the secretions blocking her upper airway had been sucked out, her breathing was basically smooth. Her body began to strive to breathe fresh air, improving the hypoxic state.
A weak "hoo-hoo-hoo" sound continued; although the crisis was resolved, it wasn't over yet.
Zheng Ren directed the stretcher to keep sprinting toward the operating room.
"I wonder... is that doctor going to eat people?" Watching the stretcher dash by, the onlookers gasped and chattered.
"You really don't understand anything; that's artificial respiration."
"Nonsense, artificial respiration requires chest compressions; just breathing is useless."
No one knew what Zheng Ren was doing; he alone directed the rescue.
The small patient was unfortunate to encounter a faulty lift chair, but fortunate to have met Zheng Ren, so she didn't die for no reason.
The little nurse called the elevator, not letting the stretcher wait.
Some people were angry they couldn't get on the elevator, but when the bloody stretcher was pushed over, everyone fell silent.
Except in rare cases, no one would contend with emergency resuscitation patients for the elevator.
All the way to the operating room with the patient, Zheng Ren finally let out a breath.
It should be fine; he watched the patient being taken in, grabbed a nurse, and said, "Please help me get a bottle of saline."
Zheng Ren's hands were stained with blood and the patient's respiratory secretions; the nurse gave him a disgusted look and walked away without a word.
How helpless... Director Wang? Zheng Ren only then noticed Director Wang had disappeared.
Where should I go to change clothes?
The unfamiliar operating room, the unfamiliar and unfriendly nurse, Zheng Ren covered in blood and secretions, feeling somewhat lost.
"Bang~" The operating room door opened, and Director Wang and Liu Xu zhi rushed in.
Old Liu was somewhat better, but Director Wang's face turned purple; after running all the way, he barely managed to catch up with all his strength.
After all, he's over fifty, long lacking exercise, his body can't keep up; Zheng Ren understands that.
"Boss Zheng, you run really fast." Director Wang said, panting.
"Take me to change clothes; have the general surgery staff gone up? Is the blood ready?" Zheng Ren asked.
Director Wang remained completely unaware.
The rescue was essentially out of control, and Zheng Ren also felt helpless.
No one followed him; he hardly looked like a hospital director. Zheng Ren smiled wryly. He guessed Fan Tao had dragged him from home, and the people in the director's office knew nothing of this.
Led by Director Wang to the changing room, Zheng Ren found a faucet and rinsed his mouth vigorously.
Mouth-to-mouth phlegm suction felt awful, Zheng Ren thought. Fortunately the patient survived; otherwise his mood would be worse.
"Boss Zheng, did you just perform artificial respiration?" Director Wang asked while changing clothes.
"Phlegm blocked the airway, I sucked it out." Zheng Ren rinsed his mouth three times, wiped his face with cold water, took off his isolation gown, hastily wiped his face, and put on a new isolation gown.
Director Wang only knew about mouth-to-mouth phlegm suction, but hadn't expected to see it; he stared for a moment.
One shouldn't think about it; the more one thinks, the more nauseating it becomes.
Yet the effect was immediate; earlier the little girl's face had turned purple from suffocation, she kept convulsing on the stretcher. Zheng Ren truly feared that during the agitation he might hit the electroplating rod, then re-inflict a new injury on the abdominal cavity.
"Director Wang, has the patient's blood been sent for testing?" Zheng Ren asked, knowing the director hardly knew anything, but trying anyway.
"It should have been sent."
"Push that side, check the results for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, and AIDS." Zheng Ren said.
Although the system panel didn't label them, what if these infectious diseases were missed by the big pig trotter?
During the rescue he hadn't thought of it, and then he had no time to consider it. But after relaxing a little, Zheng Ren immediately realized this point.
"Oh oh, okay, okay." Director Wang replied promptly.
These tests are available at the Xilin Town People's Hospital; if not done, we'll do them all.
"Boss Zheng, will the patient survive?" Director Wang asked again; this was his point of contention.
Fortunately Boss Zheng of 912 was there; otherwise the child might now be undergoing corpse preparation.
Zheng Ren sighed.
If this side of the rescue were more proficient, there should be no problem.
Whether in Hai Cheng or at 912, there would be no possibility of death.
But in this remote small hospital, Zheng Ren himself had no confidence. It wasn't that he doubted his own rescue skill or level; who knows what else might turn up inside!
The hardest part had been solved by himself... anyway, better to take a look. The level of this emergency rescue is too poor; without watching the surgery finish, he wouldn't feel at ease.
Post-op...
Sigh, Zheng Ren sighed and said, "Director Wang, are you familiar with the provincial ICU?"
"I..." Director Wang immediately understood Zheng Ren's meaning, thought a moment, and said, "I'll call for help and request a teacher to come assist."
"Hmm." Zheng Ren felt reassured this time.
It's just a simple trauma, not especially complex; plus the patient is young, so recovery should be extremely swift. Once the surgery is done, if a Provincial Hospital Inpatient Chief–level doctor from the ICU stays here to guard, the problem won't be big.
After changing clothes, Zheng Ren and Director Wang walked into the operating room.
There are few operating suites, only five. The last suite's light is on, indicating surgery is underway.
Zheng Ren walked straight over.
"Boss Zheng, your interventional surgery was really well done." Director Wang didn't know what else to say, so he gave a lukewarm compliment.
Oh, I came from general surgery, I do Interventional surgery, which counts as having entered the field midway. Zheng Ren said.
Dean Wang was stunned for a moment, then immediately Understanding. He is a professor from 912, looks young, but I cannot be disrespectful.
He rushed ahead of Zheng Ren, running and stumbling, and opened the sensor door.
Here we have a newly built laminar flow Operating Room from A Few Years Ago||Term, the best within a hundred-mile radius. Dean Wang introduced.
Zheng Ren had no concept of this at all.
The Operating Room is laminar flow, isn't that supposed to be? But think about it, in this small town, having a laminar flow Operating Room is also not easy.
Entering the Operating Room, the endotracheal tube had just been inserted, the anesthesiologist was adjusting the ventilator parameters, and a book lay beside him.
Zheng Ren saw this and his heart turned cold halfway.
Dean Wang had been observing Zheng Ren's expression, and he quickly explained: "We can't administer general anesthesia to children here; if there are similar patients, we send them to the provincial hospital."
