Chapter 1627: with translation of chapter title
1573 Intervention Department, just hearing it sounds improper.
Picked up Heizi, sent Zheng Ren and others to the hospital, Xie Yiren went home alone.
Today there was no Shou Bing; her going to the hospital was just idle chat, better to go home and have a good talk with Heizi.
When Zheng Ren got out of the car, he rubbed Heizi's dog head, and said solemnly, "You can't be so mischievous from now on."
Heizi let out a yawn, turned his head and ignored Zheng Ren.
Closed the car door, seeing Xie Yiren go away, Su Yun smiled and said, "Boss, you can't do that."
"How?"
"When a child makes a mistake, you need to show parental authority, give them a good spanking." Su Yun urged.
"..." Zheng Ren said nothing and walked toward the Inpatient Department.
"If you keep spoiling her like this, something big will happen."
"I disciplined her, didn't you see?"
"I'll be damned, you call that fondling?" Su Yun muttered.
Returning to the ward, Liu Zewei's busy forehead gleamed with oil a bit more.
After admitting six patients, taking histories, writing charts, doing communication, explaining conditions, preoperative preparation, preoperative discussion, and various signatures, by the end of the day Old Liu finally felt the hardship of a trainee doctor.
Chang Yue came in, changed clothes, then went to write charts and chat with patients' families.
The opening of the Community Hospital means from now on we'll be busy nonstop, with no time for idle chat.
Zheng Ren, however, is the most leisurely of them all.
He sat by the window, watching Chang Yue and Liu Zewei busy writing charts, Professor Rudolf Wagner organizing the TIPS Surgery forms and the documents provided to Sweden, feeling content and at ease.
Even if later there are six TIPS Surgeries a day, Zheng Ren doesn't think it's a big deal.
Actually, judging from the current situation in the department, the professor bringing Liu Zewei upstairs is already enough.
For each surgery, I just need to sit below and watch leisurely; going up really has nothing to do.
Delving into the System Library to read, Zheng Ren feels this is the best leisure.
More than an hour later, someone spoke at the door; Zheng Ren came out of the System Library and looked up.
She was a female patient over 50 years old, standing beside Liu Zewei's desk, asking, "Doctor, take a look at what illness I have."
"Are you a patient?"
"Yes, I am a patient," the woman said firmly.
She had several acne lesions on her face, looking like teenage acne, giving off the smell of chronic inflammation of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands.
"Which bed is it? I don't remember," Liu Zewei said, rubbing his bald head, some Doubt.
Although these past two days have been extremely busy, I still remember what patients look like; this woman looks especially unfamiliar, I have no impression of her.
Especially at her age, to actually have teenage acne on her face is quite rare.
"Which bed is it? No, no, I'm from the nearby residential area. Which bed is what place, how have I never heard of it?" the woman said.
"I'm asking you, are you an inpatient?" Liu Zewei thought there must be some misunderstanding, so he began to sort it out bit by bit.
"No," the woman said: "My lower back has been hurting for several years. Everywhere I go they say it's a lumbar disc protrusion and want me to do many tests. I feel something's off, so I haven't done them."
She went on talking, and Liu Zewei directly interrupted her, asking, "You're not an inpatient? Nor are you a companion of an inpatient?"
"Yes, that's right, I'm not, I just came to see a doctor. A healthy person has no reason to be hospitalized. Doctor, you can't curse me." the woman said.
"..." Liu Zewei gave Zheng Ren an innocent look and said, "You're not an inpatient; please go to the outpatient clinic up front, we are the Inpatient Department."
"You don't have anything else to do, can't you just take a look at me?" the woman said indifferently.
"We are the Inpatient Department; we only treat inpatients, we don't see outpatients." Liu Zewei repeated, "Moreover, I'm busy, not idle at all."
As he spoke, Liu Zewei's words already carried a hint of gunpowder.
"Auntie, come over here, they're busy." Zheng Ren waved.
"You?" the woman glanced at Zheng Ren, full of distrust.
"The department head has a real temper, this little doctor doesn't even know how to treat patients." she muttered.
Zheng Ren didn't think much of it; he just found her System Panel interesting.
"Auntie, do you know which department to go to for a bulging lumbar disc?" Zheng Ren asked with a smile.
"Orthopedics Department," the woman said firmly.
"Then what department is this?"
"Intervention Department, ah, I'm not illiterate." The woman began to get a little unhappy.
Zheng Ren felt his temper had really improved; he wasn't angry, but rather curious and asked, "Auntie, please sit, tell me, you came to see an Orthopedics Department condition, why are you here in the Intervention Department?"
"Orthopedics is so busy, doctors are definitely on the Operating table. Your Intervention Department, just hearing it sounds like it's not a proper department, surely everyone is idle." The woman praised her own cleverness.
This was tantamount to pointing at someone's nose and scolding them; the doctors in the office were eager to retort with a couple of sentences.
But Zheng Ren merely smiled and asked, "Then if you see an unreliable doctor, can you feel at ease?"
"You really think you can cure my illness?" the woman wore a expression saying 'do you have a clue?', the teenage acne on her face seemed to look down on Zheng Ren, "I'm just here to ask casually."
"Whether there are dates or not, let's first strike three poles and then talk?" Zheng Ren asked with a laugh.
"How can you speak like that?" the woman became increasingly unhappy, "Aren't doctors supposed to heal and save lives?"
"Yes, yes." Zheng Ren said with a smile, "Tell me where you feel Uncomfortable."
"My lower back has been hurting for almost ten years. Isn't it all from overworking when I was young?" the woman complained, "These past two years the pain has gotten worse, and no matter where I go, it hasn't been cured."
"Is the pain regular?" Zheng Ren asked again.
Liu Zewei looked at Zheng Ren in astonishment, "Shouldn't this kind of patient just be driven away? Talking to her so much is completely meaningless."
She has a disc problem, yet she came to the Intervention Department, or rather to see a doctor in the Intervention Department ward.
Zheng Lao Ban's temper really is getting better and better.
"What's the rule?"
"It's that after activity it gets heavier and heavier, and after work the pain becomes very severe."
"Yes!" the woman immediately said: "Carrying some things... a few days ago I went grocery shopping, a few jin of stuff, carrying it home made my butt hurt. I looked it up online, this is a typical symptom of a disc problem."
"Hmm, indeed it is." Zheng Ren said.
"What is it?" the woman unhappily said: "Are you making me see a doctor, or are you seeing a doctor for me?"
"Does your chest hurt?"
The woman's face turned grim, she sprang up with a whoosh, looking wary.
After a pause of several seconds, the woman shouted sharply: "Rascal!"
Having said that, she turned and left.
Her step was spry, you couldn't see any problem at all.
