Chapter 1648: A Little Explanation
A Little Explanation
This storyline comes from the oral account of an elderly gentleman.
It's been many years; the only things I can recall are the two cases of using ink to reveal skin parasites and the later heart parasite surgery.
I also found some foreign cases and blended them together.
Many years ago, schistosomiasis raged across the country. Countless doctors went to the countryside, wave after wave, and finally brought the rampant schistosomiasis under control.
Nowadays, it would certainly be impossible to write about, given that there hasn't been an outbreak in years.
The older generation expended tremendous effort and... sacrifice, bringing schistosomiasis under control, and in the past ten years there have been no signs of a large-scale outbreak.
So, let's go to Nanyang and bring along these two cases as well.
Those years, countless medical workers, responding to the nation's call, braved wind and rain, fought schistosomiasis under extremely harsh conditions, made enormous sacrifices, and finally achieved victory.
Knowing that few people understand this part and it lacks relatability, I have only ever seen one case of liver fluke disease, but not writing about it still weighs on my mind.
Everyone, please look at this; the gu poison segment probably won't be touched again. As for parasites, I'll likely still write about them occasionally.
That's it for now.
Paying respects to the elders who, decades ago, disregarded their own safety to heal and save lives.
Salute!
