1799 Just looking at two tables and you'll get it—still need to practice? (Monthly ticket 17000 extra update ×34)

"Yo, really? One look and you get it?" Lin Ge laughed.

"Pretty much." Su Yun said: "Director Lin, I won't chat idly anymore—I'm having trouble keeping up on my end."

"You do your thing." Lin Ge strolled around the operating room with a smile.

"Lao He, you're quite skilled with the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation." Lin Ge and Lao He chatted.

"As long as Zheng Lao Ban needs it, we must be proficient. All aspects of anesthesia management must be flawless." Lao He said, smiling.

"As for that." Lin Ge looked at Lao He helplessly and asked.

"As for that, Zheng Lao Ban." Lao He suddenly said: "I found 22 cases of intubation misplaced into the esophagus. For abdominal surgeries, postoperative drainage volume will increase. I'll send you the detailed discussion by email."

"Yo, Lao He, you're really on top of things." Su Yun lifted her head, twisted her neck, and said: "I've never wanted to do neurosurgery; look at my thoracic side—the operating field is spacious. As long as the anesthesiologist does single-lung ventilation well, that space! It's like a luxurious seaside villa."

"Neurosurgery is quite difficult, but when you switch this approach to other surgeries, the trauma is much smaller." Zheng Ren said, "Irrigation."

"Just finished the anastomosis—do we not need to observe for a few minutes?" Su Yun asked.

"I observed while doing it. It's just a shunt—you've done plenty in thoracic surgery." Zheng Ren's eyes were glued to the microscope, his hands making barely perceptible movements.

"Boss, when I practiced surgery back then, I clamped gauze strips on soft tofu. How did you practice?" Su Yun asked.

"Just looking at two tables and you'll get it—still need to practice?" Zheng Ren said casually.

"……" Su Yun had nothing to say.

This is his longest retort; hearing Zheng Ren say it now, it sounds grating and awkward no matter how you hear it.

Irrigation showed no active bleeding; Zheng Ren folded back the meninges and placed them on the brain surface, then replaced the bone flap that had been sawn off.

The most difficult part of the surgery was declared over.

"If a head CT after 24 hours shows no problems, the patient lives." Zheng Ren took off the live‑stream glasses, rubbed his eyes, and said, "Microsurgery is really tiring."

"It's tiring to keep up with you." Su Yun said: "You've made such a fuss."

Zheng Ren smiled, stood up, and said, "Director Lin, thank you."

"No need for thanks." Lin Ge patted Zheng Ren's shoulder and said, "Guarding clinical work is what the Medical Department should do."

Saying that, the two walked out of the operating area and came to the operation room.

Professor Zhang happened to hear Lin Ge's last sentence.

Guarding… why don't I feel it myself?

"Professor Zhang, the surgery is over; the patient is still in sinus rhythm, and postoperative evaluation suggests no problems." Zheng Ren said politely, completely lacking the arrogant, overbearing demeanor he had during emergency resuscitation.

Professor Zhang was speechless.

In his perception, Zheng Lao Ban should have mocked him after coming out, yet Zheng Lao Ban spoke so gently, even seeming grateful.

Professor Zhang stared blankly at Zheng Ren.

"Um… Professor Zhang, anything wrong?" Zheng Ren saw Professor Zhang's odd expression, checked his system panel, confirmed nothing was wrong—not a cerebral infarction or similar acute episode—then asked.

"Zheng… Zheng Lao Ban, why are you being polite to me?" Professor Zhang said sheepishly.

"You did a great job on the arterial bypass anastomosis this afternoon in the ER." Zheng Ren said, "If the anastomosis isn't done carefully, when I squeeze the heart the coronary artery could rupture and the patient would really die."

Professor Zhang had nothing to say.

Doing the bypass with care—that's supposed to be the norm, right?

Just thinking about how I earlier wondered if Zheng Lao Ban would blame systemic heparinization, Professor Zhang felt ashamed and wanted to disappear.

Capable and even‑tempered—no wonder Lin Ge is so eager to curry favor.

Dealing with someone like this, at least you don't have to worry about them tripping you up. Professor Zhang gave a sheepish chuckle and whispered, "I've actually been thinking about giving up on resuscitation."

"Normally, giving up would be the right call." Zheng Ren said solemnly, "In Hai Cheng, without an IABP or ECMO, the patient couldn't be saved."

Saying that, Zheng Ren glanced at the operating room.

Inside, four or five people were bustling about.

The surgery was done, but the two anesthesiologists including Lao He, Xie Yiren, the circulating nurse, Su Yun, Zhao Yunlong, and others were still finishing up.

That's the background that made the surgery successful.

Zheng Ren still had a sense of it; if this were Xilin Town, the patient couldn't be saved no matter what.

"Zheng Lao Ban, how did you determine there would be cerebral hemorrhage?" Professor Zhang puzzled over this.

"Because the patient never recalled having chest tightness or chest pain." Zheng Ren said: "Concealed medical history means that each time the heart is ischemic and cardiac output drops, there's a transient consciousness disturbance. The patient just doesn't remember; Western literature has statistics on this…"

When Zheng Ren talked about this, he was virtually unbeatable.

With his excellent memory, plus the System Library and some time to sync, Zheng Ren simply left Professor Zhang bewildered.

"Your… foundational knowledge is rock solid." Professor Zhang blurted out.

Lin Ge chuckled, "This isn't basic knowledge—Professor Zhang is probably totally confused." He laughed and said, "Let's go, change clothes."

"Director Lin, I'm heading out soon; please keep an eye on Fugui'er and Old Liu at home." Zheng Ren said.

"Oh? Where are you going?"

"On a mission." Zheng Ren simply said.

Lin Ge nodded.

What could possibly go wrong with Zheng Lao Ban's people? Even if Professor Rudolf Wagner had a mishap during surgery… it's not impossible, just extremely unlikely.

"Don't worry, I'll stay in touch with Director Kong regularly. If there's anything you can't solve, just have Dr. Chang come find me." Lin Ge readily agreed.

Zheng Ren also had nothing to say.

Back home everything's on track—honestly, there's nothing to worry about.

Arriving at the changing room, before even entering, Manager Shaolow burst out head down, moving so fast he almost bumped into Lin Ge.

Zheng Ren stopped Manager Shaolow and asked, "Manager Shaolow, what are you doing?"

"Y‑yeah, Zheng Lao Ban, you're not supposed to be on the operating table, are you?" Manager Shaolow stammered, then froze.

"The live broadcast just ended?" Zheng Renye was stunned for a moment, immediately recalling what he and Hu Yan Hui had said: "It's like this: the live broadcast of a female patient's emergency rescue always requires caution."

"Oh oh."

"The company's side delayed several Minute, did some trimming, not involving Shou Bing or rescue, so there shouldn't be a big problem." Zheng Ren said with a smile.

"Zheng Lao Ban, the bridge work on the M4 segment, you did a truly damn awesome job!" Chief Shao suddenly remembered what he wanted to say.
