Chapter 2559: May you and I be treated gently by this world
May you and I be treated gently by this world.
This title is a bit strange, but it's what I had in mind today.
I've mentioned the situation these past few days; tomorrow I'm leaving to attend the annual meeting, which is likely the longest stretch I've been unable to write since starting the book.
Double monthly tickets must surge; I need to earnestly seek votes with the right attitude.
The manuscript I have on hand should barely last until I return, but it seems a bit short; I need to write a few chapters in Modu.
After updating early in the morning, I proofread it once; upon seeing the last line, I already had three comments for this chapter.
I realized there was a problem then; after looking again an hour later, I had twelve comments for this chapter.
Hmm, it was past 3 a. m.
I hesitated, hesitated, and finally at 6 o'clock decided to add an extra chapter anyway. I also know this goes against many things, like the idea that anticipation drives continuous updates.
Since I have a manuscript, I'll release it—at least to the end of a plot segment. The aftereffects of upcoming interviews and news broadcasts can be discussed these next few days.
After updating, my palms were sweaty; the pressure these past few days has surged.
But my mood was pleasant, and I recalled a sentence—May you and I be treated gently by this world.
Everyone goes to work happy, striving to earn money to support the family and live life:)
Hmm, that final symbol looks very old; does it look familiar to you?
Since I'm opening a single chapter, let me add a couple of sentences—what Zheng Lao Ban would say after winning the Nobel Prize has always been my anxiety. This quote is from Wang Fei; I originally wanted to say it at the award ceremony on December 10, but it always felt too stiff, lacking leeway, not particularly beautiful.
Two months ago I thought of a better, more fitting phrase with some leeway and aftertaste, so I moved this paragraph to have Zheng Lao Ban say it as he walks out of the operating room.
The upcoming plot will be written sunny and bright.
May you and I be treated gently by this world.
As above, written in a single chapter after the 14th update.
