Chapter 2927: with translation of chapter title
"Old Liu, call the police." Gao Shaojie had no better option; he leaned close to Liu Zewei's ear and whispered the suggestion.
Calling the police……looks like that's all we can do. Probably it won't be effective, and we don't know how the follow‑up situation will develop.
Liu Zewei sighed in his heart, not looking at Professor Qin; he silently noted down this person's name and this incident in bold letters on the little black notebook in his mind.
He took out his phone, just about to dial, when a commotion came from the doorway.
What the hell is this, making a racket all day long—do they even know they're supposed to keep quiet in a hospital? Their quality's gone to the dogs! Liu Zewei cursed in his heart, wanting to continue dialing.
Suddenly he felt Gao Shaojie bump into him.
"Huh?"
"Old Liu, look." Gao Shaojie said softly.
Liu Zewei turned his head and saw Dahungya leading the way, his security uniform crisp. But the outfit looked mismatched on him—far from dignified, it gave the impression of a monkey wearing a hat.
Behind Dahungya followed four or five burly security guards holding batons, looking the part.
Liu Zewei knew the hospital's security guards, hired through a labor company, were just trying to make a living; during medical disturbances they never fought to the death.
Nobody's having an easy time, and no one blames them for it. Especially the guards Dahungya brings, they've mastered every trick to cut corners, yet they never do anything serious. Expecting them to chase off these troublemakers? Dream on.
Liu Zewei even knew this guy had some high‑level directors' and professors' private registration slips, the kind used for after‑hours overtime consultations.
As Dahungya's group approached, Liu Zewei held no hope.
But Dahungya didn't glance at the old woman who was burning paper, twitching, and acting with strange strength; instead he walked straight toward Liu Zewei.
"Director Liu, long time no see." Dahungya walked up to Liu Zewei, stood at attention in a polite but awkward manner, and gave a weird salute.
Since you don't strike a smiling face, Liu Zewei knew Dahungya's courtesy was due to Zheng Lao Ban. He gave a wry smile, nodded, and wanted to continue his call.
"Professor Gao!" Dahungya saw Gao Shaojie and became even more enthusiastic! This made Liu Zewei feel a bit Uncomfortable.
"Huh?" Gao Shaojie startled slightly.
"Aren't you following Zheng Lao Ban? Why are you back? Is this a home‑visit?" Dahungya asked with a grin.
He said this while reaching out his hand.
Gao Shaojie pretended not to see, smiling politely, and didn't extend his hand.
Dahungya had no idea what "awkward" meant; he stepped forward, gripped Gao Shaojie's hand and shook it lightly twice, counting it as a handshake.
"Professor Gao, is Zheng Lao Ban doing well these days? Busy or not?" Dahungya asked enthusiastically again.
Professor Qin smirked to the side, but he didn't want to offend these guards. Gao Shaojie frowned and said, "Are you here to handle this matter?"
Dahungya slapped his head, making a pat‑pat sound, and said, "Look, I got caught up in catching up."
As he spoke, Dahungya burst into a hearty laugh. If he hadn't laughed, it would have been better; when he did, his mouth full of yellow teeth was exposed, with a few cavities, and just looking at it you could almost see the tangible stench of bad breath.
Being able to pull this off is pretty badass, Gao Shaojie thought. If Zhu Liangchen had half of Dahungya's thick skin, Zhou Chun Yong would have long been flipped to the ground and rubbed hard—scrubbed however he liked.
"I heard Director Liu had something going on, so I rushed over. We're old acquaintances, and thanks to Zheng Lao Ban's favor, I'll definitely step in to settle this." Dahungya's every sentence ignored Zheng Lao Ban, peddling connections left and right.
Hearing Dahungya say that, Liu Zewei's finger paused on the phone.
He felt a bit surprised; the first thought that came to mind was—could it be that these people were hired by Dahungya to stir up trouble so he could swoop in and win favor with Zheng Lao Ban through Gao Shaojie?
Although thinking that way is a bit dark, it's not impossible.
Seeing Liu Zewei and Gao Shaojie looking doubtful, Dahungya chuckled, turned, and shouted, "Damn, who brought these mangy dogs here! This is a hospital—don't you know? What are you howling about?"
The woman over sixty turned a deaf ear, seeming not to have heard Dahungya at all.
"Shut up, didn't you hear me?!" Dahungya stepped forward and kicked the woman's backside—not hard, just leaving a dusty footprint.
Gao Shaojie was speechless—was this a gangster showdown? He really wanted to cover his eyes and pretend he hadn't seen anything.
"Damn, all of you get lost—playing at spirit tricks when I was doing this you lot were still wearing split‑crotch pants, pissing and playing in the mud." Dahungya stared at the two burly men approaching him, showing no fear; his backup stepped forward, right hand gripping a baton, left hand palming it.
Those two guys had no idea why the usually timid hospital security were suddenly so bold; they hesitated and stopped.
"Ga shui li sang?" Dahungya asked as if speaking bird language.
The two men stared at Dahungya, blank‑faced, not knowing what he was doing.
"Damn, you can't even say a proper underworld phrase and you come out here to con people? Get lost, don't cause trouble." Dahungya said scornfully: "You're barely even getting the mourning cry right—keep pretending and you'll give yourself away!"
As he spoke, his gaze had already turned to the sixty‑something woman.
Gao Shao Jie was utterly speechless—Dahungya's mouth was nothing but profanity, as if he couldn't speak without dropping a "ma". Just now he was spouting gangster slang like a secret code; it made no sense.
He helplessly glanced at Liu Zewei, saw Liu Zewei also looking bewildered, then turned his gaze to Professor Qin.
Seeing Professor Qin's look of disdain, Gao Shaojie knew that Old Liu would likely face even more resistance later. When a department head fails to show strong, decisive means—solving problems with thunderous force—the team‑leading professors below will see it as cowardice.
Such cowardice sends a signal that this person is a soft persimmon. At least, when future conflicts arise, they'll have a bit more backbone.
"You kicked me?" the old woman snapped, turning her head and glaring at Dahungya with vicious eyes. Her yellowish pupils were cloudy and chaotic, devoid of any life, matching Dahungya's teeth.
"I kicked your old ass, and you're still thinking of biting me? Your voice is normal now—why are you still putting on a spirit show? Damn, if I didn't kick you you'd really think our Medical University Affiliated Hospital is easy to bully?" Dahungya spat out words Gao Shaojie couldn't understand, his mouth full of contempt.
