Chapter 284: It’s the Same Person
Daniel Hayes nodded. "Yep, those two were weaklings. I took care of them easily."
Hearing Daniel Hayes’s hearty laughter, Chloe Reed couldn’t help but smile along. At moments like this, she truly felt that no one could bully her so easily anymore.
...
Two bruised and swollen bodyguards stood before Walker Grant, not daring to speak.
Walker Grant took out a cigarette and lit it, his sharp, phoenix-like eyes watching them indifferently.
An invisible pressure enveloped them. The two bodyguards lowered their heads and said, "Your wife’s driver spotted us. Before we could even react..."
Walker Grant said, "You can go."
The two bodyguards were overjoyed. ’The president didn’t punish us!’
They hurried away, still limping as they left.
Walker Grant looked in the direction the car had disappeared. Chloe Reed had a new expert by her side.
’How have I never heard of someone like that?’
He took out his phone and made a call. When the other person answered, he said, "Did you do the thing I asked you to?"
"Did it," the person on the other end replied, their voice lazy. "The guy’s already in Breyburn. He should have made contact with your wife by now, right?"
Walker Grant said coolly, "I want to meet him."
"Heh... What do you mean by that? Don’t you trust me?" the person’s tone was flippant. "If you don’t trust me, then don’t use him."
But Walker Grant said, "I might have already met him, but I need to confirm it."
"Hmm?" The person was clearly taken aback for a moment, then laughed. "Interesting. Fine, I’ll send you his file. You can contact him."
"Mm."
Walker Grant hung up and finished his cigarette. His phone vibrated—the file had been sent.
When he saw the man’s rugged face in the file’s photo, his sharp eyes narrowed.
’Daniel Hayes.’
’It really was him.’
A small smile played on Walker Grant’s thin lips, and he immediately deleted the message.
...
The next day, Dylan Finch came to Chloe Reed with a stack of documents, his attitude extremely respectful. "Mrs. Grant, these are the documents Mr. Grant instructed me to have you sign. If you see no issues, you can sign them directly, and they will take effect immediately."
Chloe Reed took the contracts and looked them over. ’Good heavens,’ she thought. It was all properties from across Breyburn—wineries, hot spring resorts...
And a huge trust fund.
’The stack of documents was thick, comparable to the one her grandmother had given her.’
’Madam Grant’s assets were this extensive?’
’Then what about the entire Grant family’s assets?’
’It was truly unimaginable!’
Dylan Finch said, "This is all compensation for you. Mr. Grant said that if you do not want it, it will all be donated to a charitable foundation."
Chloe Reed raised her eyebrows slightly and said, "Then donate it all."
Dylan Finch nodded. "Understood."
"Oh, and one more thing," Chloe Reed said seriously. "Donate it all to an animal rescue shelter."
"Understood."
Chloe Reed turned around to see Kyle Coleman standing not far away, watching her with a worried expression.
Chloe Reed walked over in confusion and asked, "Mr. Coleman, what’s wrong?"
Kyle Coleman’s expression was extremely complicated. He hesitated for a long time before asking, "You’re going to see this project through to the end, right?"
Chloe Reed burst out laughing and nodded. "I’ll see it through. Don’t worry."
She was still very serious when it came to work.
Kyle Coleman instantly let out a sigh of relief.
’How much could she possibly make from filming a TV series? He had thought the salary wouldn’t even cover one of her spa days. Now it seemed he’d been overthinking it. It probably wouldn’t even pay for one of her manicures.’
’From now on, he’d have to treat her better. The project was ending soon, and it would be bad if she suddenly ran off.’
