Chapter 60: Dilemma

~7 min read 1,211 words

Anlan Da Material Plane:

The teleportation array of the Water Divine Plane dimmed its teal light, and a man with a topknot stood within the array.

The Plane Guardian looked at the man before him and asked, "Who are you, and why have you come to the Anlan Da Material Plane?"

"Kaxius?" the topknot man, who was naturally Fei Zeer, replied, "Are you a High God? When did you ascend?"

"Do you know me?" Kaxius was surprised, then sensed that the soul aura of the man before him was somewhat familiar, yet he could not recall at once.

Fei Zeer smiled, "I am Fei Zeer. Over 1.3 million years ago, I went directly from here to the Divine Plane; at that time I was still a Sanctuary."

"You were a Sanctuary 1.3 million years ago?" Kaxius seemed to recall, exclaiming, "I remember now, but you should have gone to the Netherworld then. How did you return from the Water Divine Plane?"

Fei Zeer laughed, "What's so strange? I can return to the Material Plane and move between Divine Planes; it's perfectly normal."

Having followed his teacher, he had indeed become experienced; teleportation between Divine Planes costs a billion Netherstones per use, whereas traveling to the Material Plane costs ten trillion per use—a thousand‑fold difference. Ordinary Seven‑Star Demons are reluctant to return to the Material Plane even once.

"That makes sense." Kaxius, still curious, asked, "You have now fused several mysteries and can return from a Divine Plane?"

"You ask too many questions." Fei Zeer, also a bit puzzled, asked, "Kaxius, I'm curious as well—why would an independently ascended High God like you choose to become a Plane Guardian?"

Generally, those who become Plane Guardians are mid‑rank Gods, because High Gods—especially those who have independently ascended—are already supreme in the Divine Planes; why would they bother coming to the Material Plane to watch a teleportation array?

Even for safety, staying in a city is far better; with a typical High God's power, buying a house and living long‑term in a small town is no problem—cities are full of treasures and amusements.

Kaxius smiled faintly, "That's none of your business. Since you've returned, you can go back for revenge. I recall you were being hunted before you went to the Netherworld, right?"

In the Anlan Da Material Plane, your strength is more than enough to roam freely, but do not go to Wuyou Island in the East Sea; if you go, you're courting death.

"I'm going to court death?" Fei Zeer laughed heartily, "Even on the Divine Planes, there are only a few places that would dare call it a death‑march."

With his Water Triple Fusion power, plus the soul‑defense artifact his teacher gave him and some life‑saving treasures, even ordinary Seven‑Star Demons might not be his match.

And Seven‑Star Demons on the Divine Planes, aside from a handful of true extremes, pose little danger; the natural environment is unlikely to threaten such beings.

"I'm only warning you to avoid trouble." Kaxius finished, his form flashing as he surged at Fei Zeer at breakneck speed, slapping a palm that tore a huge fissure in the Material Plane's space.

Fei Zeer's complexion shifted slightly, his entire body erupting in teal light, and he launched a punch of equal force.

"Boom—" palms collided; Fei Zeer was blasted back a dozen steps by the sheer force, and Kaxius was likewise repelled.

"You—" Fei Zeer exclaimed in shock, "Your power is already close to that of a Seven‑Star Demon? Then why—"

"You're similar, no wonder you can return from a Divine Plane." Kaxius ceased his assault and smiled, "On Wuyou Island there are masters stronger than me. I think you're a rare genius of this plane—the first in countless billions of years to return from a Divine Plane. Don't go looking for death."

"Fine, I won't go to Wuyou Island." Fei Zeer finally agreed.

Kaxius's face also broke into a smile, "Then go about your business. Your enemy is now only a mid‑rank God; killing him will be a breeze."

"Kill? That would be too cheap for him." A murderous glint appeared in Fei Zeer's eyes; although he was here to carry out his teacher's assignment, he could still pursue his own aims.

Water Divine Plane, within an underwater palace:

Fei Zeer faithfully reported to his teacher everything his Water Divine avatar had seen and heard, then asked, "Teacher, should I go check that Wuyou Island?"

"No. If you go, you'll surely be spotted." Xiao En shook his head, "What's the situation around the plane's teleportation array?"

Fei Zeer replied, "When I was near the array, I used divine perception to scan; within a radius of a million li there are other High Gods, but they ignored me;"

"Besides Wuyou Island, I also happened upon a few High Gods elsewhere; they're aligned with Kaxius, they know me, I detected them with my divine perception but received no response, and several were rather unfriendly toward me;"

"Given that Kaxius has already sparred with me, this only shows that their strength may not be inferior to mine."

"There are so many masters; you can't handle them. Stay safe on your continent and mind your own business." Xiao En said.

Fei Zeer added, "Teacher, although I may not match them, I feel they're far from being your match either; if you went, killing them would be a piece of cake."

He naturally knew his teacher had trained him for the secrets of his own Material Plane, and he was curious why so many masters were on his plane yet none had ever dominated it over countless years.

"That's not your concern," Xiao En shook his head, "You can cultivate a good rapport between your Water Divine avatar and the Plane Guardians—offer them all the delicacies and fine wine, then gather intel to see if there's any useful information. I need to find a way to reach the Anlan Da Plane; only then can we uncover what's happening."

The only way to reach the Material Plane is via the teleportation array, and once you pass through it you'll be exposed directly to the Plane Guardians. Though one can conceal soul aura and alter appearance, a non‑native of this plane crossing over can still raise suspicion.

His own strength is indeed great, but if he provokes the Lord of Light, even if he obtains a Divine Avatar in that plane, he'll be trapped for life, unable to refine the Divine Core there; entering a spatial turbulence to refine it would invite the Lord of Light's pursuit, and should he be caught, he'd be no match.

Not to mention, he still doesn't know what kind of sealing sigil the chief deity Fei Si Te left on his plane, nor does he have absolute certainty he can break it; without that, he cannot rouse the guardian deity's army at will.

What's more, he currently still does not know what the seal magic array left by the Fisster Main God in his own plane looks like, and he lacks absolute confidence to be able to solve it; before that, he must not casually disturb the guarding main god army.
