Chapter 68: Future Schemes
Above the depths of the South Sea;
The whole sky suddenly darkened, massive streams of gray‑black water filled the heavens, swirling around the lone figure standing in the center, endless and unceasing.
In front of Xiao En, a gray‑black Divine Core radiated light; under the control of the cosmic laws, the Divine Core gradually merged into Xiao En's forehead.
A new Death Divine Core was born;
The moment the Divine Core entered his body, Xiao En felt the almost boundless willpower it contained—terrifyingly immense, far stronger than a Grand Perfection.
His Life Divine Avatar, Light Divine Avatar, and Sanctum True Form each received a share of that willpower, though slightly weaker than the one inherent to his Life Rule Avatar.
There is also the Soul Pearl, which is now gradually absorbing Divine Power and manifesting memories of past deceased Divines; after checking, Xiao En found it of little immediate use.
"The Soul Pearl is still slowly absorbing Divine Power; it seems to be healing its wound?"
After Xiao En sensed the Divine memories fading, the Soul Pearl's surface began slowly repairing the wound inflicted by the Supreme God Sword, but the pace was exceedingly slow—so slow that Xiao En could not tell how long recovery would take.
"However, the absorption rate is also slow, its impact on Divine Power is minimal, at least I can control it."
He also discovered he could prevent the Soul Pearl from absorbing power, allowing it to do so in idle times without affecting combat.
"This is the might of a Divine! ~"
Xiao En, attuned to his Death Divine Avatar's ability, willed a shift; the space ahead tore open a gap dozens of meters wide, filled with chaotic spatial turbulence and destructive force, yet he walked out effortlessly.
Countless spatial eddies battered his body, but a sliver of Divine Power within the Divine Force easily repelled them.
His divine consciousness expanded, instantly covering billions of material planes around him; whenever he wishes, he can permeate those planes and, in an instant, observe everything within.
Likewise, he discovered that in the An Landa material plane he previously occupied, after his consciousness seeped in, the angels and Divine soldiers there continued their normal duties.
Retracting his consciousness, he gazed toward the distant direction, where eleven massive spatial planes and the smaller planes between them lay: the Four Great Supreme Planes, the Seven Divine Planes, and the Plane Battlefield.
"Forget it, stay safe; I won't probe with my consciousness. If a Divine is outside the divine plane, it could spot me."
Though the chance is slim, there's no need to risk it; probing with consciousness serves no purpose.
At that moment, a massive golden torrent surged into his mind—endless golden currents of faith from countless planes—that pierced Xiao En's defenses and fused with his soul.
"This power of faith is billions of times stronger than that of any single plane I've encountered before; no wonder most Divines are Five‑Meld, and some even used faith power to break through Grand Perfection."
With his eyes closed, Xiao En attuned to the mighty faith power; in an instant, his comprehension of various system laws, regulations, and even exotic mysteries sharpened greatly.
"The heavens and earth are far too favorable to Divines."
Before becoming a Divine, he thought the world unfair; the Divine Core acted as a cheat, allowing those who had reached Grand Perfection—the pinnacle of gods—to be easily crushed once an independent Ascendant God refined a Divine Core.
Now that he himself is a Divine, the feeling is different; he has become a vested interest, though regrettably he is not the strongest Ascendant Divine Core.
Nevertheless, his soul is mutated, and his Death Rule lacks Grand Perfection, giving him limitless potential—perhaps even surpassing Ao Fu's growth.
After returning from the spatial turbulence to the material plane, he calmed his stirred emotions.
Before becoming a Divine, his sole goal was to obtain a Divine Core and refine it, setting everything else aside; now that he is a Divine, he must contemplate his future course.
What he can confirm now is that he must not reveal his Divine identity directly, lest the Light Sovereign cause trouble.
The death of Fei Si Te should be known to all Divines between heaven and earth, and the Death Divine Core in the An Landa material plane is known at least to Ao Gu Si Ta, Ao Fu, and the Death Sovereign.
Ao Gu Si Ta and the Death Sovereign have swapped control of the material plane, dispatching troops and angels to guard An Landa, awaiting Fei Si Te's magic array to lose energy; other Divines should logically be aware as well.
By extension, perhaps the divine‑plane Divines all know this, and even among the Sovereigns there may be tacit acknowledgment that this Divine Core belongs to Ao Gu Si Ta.
Although not certain, he cannot definitively rule out the possibility; if he were to leave now, the outcome is unpredictable.
Among the Four Rule Sovereigns, he only knows the Death Sovereign, and if a Divine dispute arises, he cannot be sure whether the Death Sovereign would side with him; he cannot place his life in any outsider's hands.
Of course, there is another tactic: deny outright, claim he merely found the Divine Core, since Ao Gu Si Ta lacks proof of theft—he never entered that Divine magic array—but the supreme divine oath that exists between heaven and earth makes a clean denial difficult.
Nevertheless, any reason or excuse is hollow; only strength is truly safe.
He is a mid‑rank Divine among Grand Perfections, already possessing sovereign strength; even without justification, Ao Gu Si Ta could still clash with him, so he must either be strong enough to confront him or have a powerful backing.
Another point: his relationship with the Four Sacred Beasts is strained; when he was a Grand Perfection, the beasts paid him no mind, so there's little to argue now, yet as a Divine their actions are uncertain. In his view, he is likely unable to block the beasts' combined innate divine abilities.
"Becoming a Divine brings a heap of worries!"
He is much like Belute, having obtained a Divine Core from Ao Gu Si Ta; the difference is Belute seized it, while he stole it.
However, his strength and potential far exceed Belute's.
"If my Death Rule reaches Grand Perfection, the heavens will grant another willpower, though I still can't defeat Ao Gu Si Ta."
Xiao En mused that he attained willpower through the mysterious fusion of Life and Death, breaking through to become a Grand Perfection, while his Death Rule remains at the Asura realm.
Further breakthroughs would yield additional willpower, and even a deeper fusion of Death, Life, and Light could grant more; though the probability is exceedingly low, it remains possible.
On Ao Gu Si Ta's side, his willpower exceeds that of ordinary Sovereigns; his body likely matches Ao Fu's, being of Supreme Artifact caliber, wielding a fate‑infused attack Supreme Artifact that may also carry a soul‑defense Supreme Artifact—just that alone fully counters Xiao En's ultimate technique.
"Supreme Artifact?"
At that thought, Xiao En retrieved from his spatial ring the mysterious short spear he had acquired long ago; because it can affect divine‑soul slaying, he seldom used it, and even after Grand Perfection he could not decipher its workings.
Now a Divine, Xiao En is unaffected by any evil aura; as he gazed at the short spear, a trace of Divine power gathered, bearing Divine willpower, striking the spear directly.
"Boom~" The Divine force hit the spear, sending it flying, yet the spear itself remained unchanged.
"It truly is a Supreme Divine Relic."
Xiao En largely concluded that within this world there are many wondrous artifacts that even god‑level masters cannot damage;
But anything that even a Divine cannot destroy must be linked to the Supreme God.
