Chapter 79: Graveyard of the Gods
Blood Dragon Valley:
"What? Our clan members were surrounded and killed?" a silver-haired man asked in surprise atop the great hall.
The person below the hall replied, "Yes, but oddly it wasn't aimed at the Four Beast Clan's army, but at ordinary clan members, along with many mid-level deities; even the strongest, Martin, is only a five-star demon level;
They were merely on a chance trip to Sea Oak City for leisure or shopping, and unexpectedly were attacked by a strong individual who also wielded Lord God power, resulting in heavy losses, though the attacker did not slaughter our mid-level deities."
The silver-haired man furrowed his brows and said oddly, "A super expert using Lord God power just to slaughter a few hundred ordinary high-level deities of our Four Beast Clan? And they aren't even soldiers; that doesn't make sense logically."
"Do we know who the opponent is? What rule are they cultivating?"
The Four Beast Clan has countless enemies across the divine planes; occasional ambushes are normal, but spending such a huge price just to kill some ordinary clan members is completely uneconomical;
Even within the Four Beast Clan, those with abundant Lord God power are not allowed to misuse it; setting aside family prestige, exchanging Lord God power for the lives of a few hundred ordinary members would be seen as a loss; and for others, even those of prefect-level, they are reluctant to waste Lord God power.
The person below replied, "They are cultivating the Death Rule, but we don't know who; the opponent hides their appearance with divine power, though a soul aura is present; the metallic being inside is not a frequently traveling warrior, so we can't identify them—only when we encounter them next can we recognize them."
"In that case, it's hard to trace who struck," the silver-haired man said, also a bit troubled; there are too many in the Nether Realm cultivating the Death Rule.
On this divine plane, the larger the clan or faction, the less they dare offend the Four Beast Clan, because they have roots; if discovered, it would become a great war—though for some reasons they might not annihilate the opponent, they could still cause massive losses.
But if it's a lone wanderer, that's troublesome; even if we know who they are, they're hard to locate, and a plane-wide manhunt would require them to come to a city; such a costly manhunt can't be used often, because the Four Beast Clan has too many enemies, making it ineffective.
And now, not knowing who the opponent is makes it even more blind.
At that thought, the silver-haired man ordered, "Immediately send several elders to the site to see if there are any traces or signature techniques that could infer the assailant's identity;
Furthermore, from today onward, any metallic being leaving must be led by at least one six-star demon plus some soldiers to ensure safety."
"Understood, Elder," the person below responded.
The silver-haired man asked again, "What about those escaped high-level deities, how are they now?"
The person below said, "According to reports from some divine avatars in Blood Dragon Valley, after they scattered and fled, the attacker seemed to pursue only one direction, where several high-level deities are; their fate is unclear;
Other ones without avatars are uncertain, while many mid-level deities on site have currently returned along the original path."
"Send people to retrieve those mid-level deities; their solo movement is risky," the silver-haired man thought and said, "Any reachable high-level deities should also be recalled, or sent to Sea Oak City, but inform our branch to see which members have fallen."
Within the Four Beast Clan, many possess only a single talent; some, due to long-term security and pride, keep the main sanctum and divine avatars together, even several avatars together—if those are killed, they are truly dead.
Outside Sea Oak City, inside a small metallic being, Bach looked at Alphonse lying before him, instantly awakened him with a burst of soul power, then performed a soul seed.
"Greetings, Master," Alphonse said after kneeling.
Bach coldly said, "Alphonse, you must go to Sea Oak City immediately, report to the Four Beast Clan's branch that you are safe, and then stay in Sea Oak City for a while."
"Understood," Alphonse replied, then instantly flew out of the metallic being.
Bach sighed inwardly; the Lord God's considerations far exceeded his own. He had intended to take Alphonse directly to the teleport array, but the Lord God halted him, ordering him to first report safety in the city; otherwise, if Alphonse were missing too long before returning, it might raise suspicion.
Decades later, the dimensional teleport array of the Canglan Material Plane flashed, and two figures emerged;
"Greetings, Sir."
The plane's guardian was a mid-level deity, who could not even dream that someone would return from the divine plane to his own.
"Go," Nether Serpent naturally ignored the mid-level deity, leading Alphonse directly to a spot above the ocean, then produced a parchment and set it ablaze.
In an instant, a massive surge of Lord God power gathered, tearing a great rift in the sky of the material plane, revealing a terrifying spatial turbulence within, and deep inside the turbulence seemed another figure.
Alphonse's body was also seized by an invisible force, instantly pulled into the spatial turbulence, then the rift healed as if nothing had occurred,
Nether Serpent watched all this without moving, simply waiting there.
On the Azure Origin Plane, space abruptly ripped open, and Shawn, carrying Alphonse, whom he had soul-seeded again, flew out of the rift.
Upon arriving in the imperial palace main hall, Shawn tossed the earlier Buwite data and asked, "Alphonse, among these people, who remains in the Nether Realm and who has gone to other planes?"
Alphonse took the data, scanned it with divine perception, and replied, "Master, most of them are in the Nether Realm; only six have gone to other planes."
"Other planes? Which planes?" Shawn asked.
Alphonse responded, "It should be Hell and the Water Divine Plane; three returned to the Heaven Sacrifice Mountains, and three went to the Water Divine Plane's Azure Dragon Continent, Ice Moon Mountains."
"Ice Moon Mountains? That should be the area overseen by Gaia of the Four Beast Clan," Shawn retorted.
Regarding the Four Beast Clan, many top experts of the divine planes know basic details; they have headquarters in each plane, with Hell naturally being the Heaven Sacrifice Mountains, the clan's central hub, where the Four Beast Clan's Lord God is said to reside;
Blood Dragon Valley is the Nether Realm's Four Beast Clan center, while Ice Moon Mountains serve as the Water Divine Plane's hub, managed by Gaia, daughter of the Azure Dragon Lord God.
Alphonse said, "Yes, Grand Elder Gaia oversees the Ice Moon Mountains."
"Then who are the six who went to Hell and the Water Divine Plane?" Shawn asked again.
Alphonse replied, "To Hell went Fred, Amb, Luwasi; to the Water Divine Plane went Yve, Marcel, Andre."
"These?" Shawn said, having already known the internal experts of the Four Beast Clan through Buwite.
Alphonse answered, "Yes."
Shawn's voice continued, "Forget those six for now; I want to draw out all the others here at once. How do you think we should proceed?"
Killing them is simple, but not within Blood Dragon Valley; even if my Great Perfect Divine Avatar infiltrates, it's hard to slaughter that many without any energy fluctuation;
If any Lord God discovers this during the process, the Four Beast Clan will know; even if the victims are minor, it would be an affront to the Lord God;
Therefore, only the Nether Serpent Clan or a group of experts I have soul-seeded can carry out the killing, provided the targets are drawn outside.
Alphonse thought briefly and said, "Master, these people do come out often, but they apply randomly and are assigned trips randomly; it's unlikely to draw them all out at once;
However, after I return, checking who is in each travel batch is not hard, and I can inform you."
"No, they must all come out at once," Shawn continued, "Since the Four Beast Clan arranged it internally, someone must be responsible, right? Find a way to draw them out; I will arrange more soul seeding."
Acting now once will likely have already alerted Blood Dragon Valley; repeated attempts will raise defenses dramatically, possibly even preventing clan members from leaving, thwarting my plan;
Only by extracting them all at once can we marshal all forces for a single overwhelming assault, slaughtering them completely; that would essentially solve the problem, since those people were already reduced by Shawn to a single divine avatar—dead is dead, even if a few remain, we can deal with them later; the risk of exposing my possession of the supreme Lord God relic becomes minimal.
Alphonse thought again and said, "Master, this itinerary is just a routine matter; no one would deliberately gather a group together, especially since their travel applications have different times;
To ensure they travel together, it would require Valley Lord Dimit of Blood Dragon Valley to intervene; given our metallic being was attacked this time, it would likely draw his attention, making his involvement reasonable."
"So we need to soul-seed the Valley Lord of Blood Dragon Valley? That's difficult," Shawn frowned.
The Valley Lord of Blood Dragon Valley is the peak seven-star demon of the White Tiger Clan, akin to Elder Bru of the Azure Dragon lineage in the original work; his status is eminent and his strength great. Such a master cannot be soul-seeded by Nether Serpent, and he lacks no Lord God power, surrounded by many other masters; even if the Nether Serpent Clan were fully mobilized, defeating him is hard, let alone soul-seeding him.
Unless he acts personally, but the risk of being discovered is high, and in the Nether Realm one cannot act covertly.
AlFangsi said, "Master, there is indeed a way. Elder Dimi Te has only one divine avatar, and his sanctum's true form has always been together; only then can he wield his innate divine ability. We just need to lure him onto the material plane."
"How do we lure him?" Shawn retorted.
AlFangsi said, "The Prime Artifact will definitely work. Besides Buweit, our clan actually has many members searching for some Prime Artifacts left after a former Lord God fell, though the chance of finding them is very low."
"An unclaimed Prime Artifact? That's actually a good idea," Shawn thought instantly and said, "Then I'll send you back to the material plane we just left, and then…"
Several decades later, AlFangsi returned to Sea Oak City, and then followed the Four Sacred Beasts Clan's metal lifeforms back to Blood Dragon Valley;
The journey was safe, and AlFangsi asked a few people, learning of certain matters;
During this period the clan had added soldier guards, and many metal lifeforms gathered together; thus, even without a seven‑star‑level master, even an ordinary upper‑tier god, if numerous enough, can, by the Primordial God's power, drive back seven‑star demonic monsters.
And the decades of peace led many clan members to think that the previous raid was likely carried out by a wandering master offended by the Four Sacred Beasts Clan—a headache for any great clan, since the divine plane is vast, and a master without a clan is the hardest to track down for revenge.
After returning to the clan, AlFangsi behaved normally, but also applied for a meeting with Blood Dragon Valley's master Dimi Te.
Inside the great hall of Blood Dragon Valley:
"AlFangsi? He used to be… right?" Dimi Te asked, recalling the name.
The person below replied, "Yes, his divine avatar barely possessed five‑star demonic monster strength, but since the strongest avatar perished, it no longer needed to be on duty. Sixty years ago an unknown master attacked our metal lifeforms; he was among them, later fled to Sea Oak City, initially refused to return—likely fearing another ambush—until recently he came back."
"One who has sacrificed for the clan must not be mocked," Dimi Te said coldly.
Though the Four Sacred Beasts Clan is arrogant, it remains united internally; when its members are bullied, they act collectively outward, which is one reason the clan can dominate the divine plane.
"Indeed." The subordinate also sensed the valley master's displeasure.
Dimi Te asked again, "Did AlFangsi say anything that he needed to see me for?"
The subordinate replied, "No, he refused to say, only that it was an important matter."
"Fine, have him come to see me," Dimi Te agreed.
Half a day later:
"I have met Elder Dimi Te," AlFangsi bowed and said.
Dimi Te smiled and asked, "AlFangsi, now that you've seen me, what is it?"
Facing someone who once lost his strongest divine avatar for the clan and was once a six‑star demonic monster, even a powerful elder like Dimi Te must grant him some respect;
This is a basic internal requirement of the Four Sacred Beasts Clan: to respect former strong ones and those who sacrificed for the clan.
"Elder, while I was in Sea Oak City, I happened to meet a man who came from the material plane. At that time he asked me for a bit of assistance to stay in the city, and in return he gave me information about the Prime Artifact." AlFangsi said.
"Prime Artifact? What do you mean?" Dimi Te hadn't been very interested at first, but upon hearing the name, his tone changed immediately;
For the elders of the Four Sacred Beasts Clan, they essentially have no shortage of Primordial God power, so the only way to further increase strength is through the Prime Artifact;
However, the Prime Artifact has restrictions; the Primordial God cannot simply grant it, and these people lack even the qualification to enter the planar battlefields.
AlFangsi replied, "It's true. That man is an upper‑tier god of the material plane, quite powerful. He swore a supreme divine oath; their plane has a place called the Gods' Cemetery;
It is said that, billions of years ago, after a Primordial God fell, it was left behind, and within lies the Prime Artifact that the Primordial God left after death."
