Chapter 1137: Troublesome Ability

The metal treasure chest fell to the ground. In this tunnel about seven meters wide, Vanessa and the others began to move toward one side of the wall. A few seconds later, they stood in a row with their backs to the wall, very tacitly.

The reason they did this was to try their best to make Su Xiao and the cat-girl hostile, so they would fight, which would give them a chance to escape. Perhaps they could also snatch the metal treasure chest? That would be perfect. No, it should be to let both sides fight to the death, and finally, they would pick up the scraps. That would be the most perfect outcome: the treasure chest dropped by the cat-girl + a high-quality Scarlet Card + the metal treasure chest.

Since Su Xiao jumped into the tunnel, the cat-girl Neferpitou's eyes had been focused on him.

"Who are you?"

The muscles in the cat-girl's legs bulged rapidly, becoming knotted.

"..."

Su Xiao didn't speak, just threw the Duke of Silence on his back to Amu. The sheathed Checking Zhan Long Shan appeared in his hand.

Clang.

Checking Zhan Long Shan was unsheathed. Su Xiao held the long blade in his hand, pointing diagonally at the ground, and approached the cat-girl unhurriedly.

"I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I'll use it twice."

Just as Su Xiao finished speaking, a loud noise came from the front; it was the cat-girl pouncing on him.

The cat-girl's hands were stretched out on both sides of her body, her fingertips unusually sharp, like a wild cat pouncing on prey, agile and vigorous.

Su Xiao's forward pace accelerated, and he suddenly disappeared from where he was. Seeing this scene, three of the contractors were very excited.

"This might be a chance..."

Clang, clang, clang...

Crisp slashing sounds came, slashes that the eyes couldn't capture.

Two sharp nails flew up. The cat-girl leaped backward and landed in a half-squatting position. The muscles on her face twitched, as if she were enduring severe pain.

Blood dripped from the fingertips of Su Xiao's left hand. There was a wide wound on his left arm, caused by being whipped by the cat-girl's tail. He wasn't very used to fighting enemies with tails.

The tip of Checking Zhan Long Shan's blade was hooked with a tail tip about five centimeters long; this was the cat-girl's tail.

Although the cat-girl's strength wasn't as powerful as the Ant King's, she was definitely not easy to deal with. Her intuition was too sharp.

One round of fighting confirmed one thing for Su Xiao: dealing with the cat-girl required caution. A slight carelessness could cost him his life.

If it were a simple comparison of strength, Su Xiao would be a bit stronger than the cat-girl, but the current terrain was more suitable for the cat-girl to fight. The surrounding walls and ceiling would become the cat-girl's springboard, making her whereabouts very difficult to capture.

The cat-girl, half-squatting on the ground, turned her gaze to the contractors who were about to take the opportunity to slip away. She prepared to use these people to force Su Xiao to reveal a flaw.

Bang!

A pit appeared under the cat-girl, and she disappeared from where she was instantly. When she reappeared, she was already among the contractors. The dreams of three of the contractors were shattered instantly.

Su Xiao stepped forward, and the distance between the two sides narrowed to about three meters.

Although the cat-girl didn't know if Su Xiao would be held back by the people around him, it was worth a try.

However, Su Xiao was a stranger to these contractors. If these people ran, he wouldn't stop them; if these people became hostages, he wouldn't hesitate.

"Source of Brute Force."

A melee contractor intended to attack the cat-girl, but his strength was only at the early Tier 3 stage, and the gap in strength with the cat-girl was too large.

The cat-girl didn't pay attention to this contractor's attack at all, but grabbed the other party's head with one hand and blocked herself with him.

Clang.

The long blade slashed across, and the contractor who intended to attack Su Xiao to save his life died on the spot.

No one in the tunnel was innocent. These contractors appeared here to pursue profit and power, so they had to be prepared for their lives to be at stake. If Su Xiao died here, he wouldn't complain about anything. While wanting to gain something, one had to bear the risks; this was inevitable.

Su Xiao and the cat-girl fought among the contractors, and the result was predictable.

Blood splashed. The cat-girl crushed the head of a female contractor and threw the corpse toward Su Xiao, intending to block Su Xiao's vision with a large amount of blood. This was the last survivor in the team.

1 minute and 06 seconds after the battle started, the small adventure group was wiped out. Most of them died at the hands of the cat-girl. She had been using the corpses of these people to block Su Xiao's vision to find an opportunity.

The female contractor's corpse flew toward Su Xiao, but Su Xiao slashed to the right.

The blade groaned as it cut through the air, and several white hairs were cut off.

The cat-girl's body almost curled into a ball. Relying on her sharp intuition, she dodged Su Xiao's slash and pounced directly in front of Su Xiao.

If she got close, the cat-girl's advantage would be magnified several times, or even more than ten times, because she fought with her body, not with weapons.

A smile appeared on the cat-girl's face, a very cruel smile. The muscles in one of her arms bulged, becoming thicker than her legs, and she reached directly for Su Xiao's throat.

At this time, Su Xiao's long blade had just slashed out, and this slash had been dodged by the cat-girl, putting him in a stage where the old force was spent and the new force had not yet been born.

Facing the cat-girl who had pounced to within one meter, Su Xiao bent his knees, intending to push the cat-girl back. Unfortunately, the cat-girl's hand was only a few centimeters away from his throat.

If he were grabbed by the throat by the cat-girl, not to mention the damage caused by this strike, the subsequent chain attacks would be enough for Su Xiao to suffer. He wouldn't die but would lose a layer of skin, and the subsequent battle wouldn't need to be fought.

"I won."

The cat-girl's hand had touched Su Xiao's skin. Her fingers were arched, and she gripped with all her might.

The sensation of crushing bones in her imagination didn't appear in the cat-girl's hand. Her expression was first stunned, then her pupils contracted rapidly.

A sense of crisis came from behind the cat-girl. She was currently maintaining a pouncing posture, so the attack came from above her.

Above the cat-girl, the long blade in Su Xiao's hand flipped, becoming a backhand grip.

Pfft.

The long blade directly pierced the cat-girl's chest, penetrating the heart without any obstruction. As for why Su Xiao didn't cut off the cat-girl's head, it was because doing so wouldn't make the cat-girl lose her combat effectiveness immediately, and there would still be a danger of a counterattack.

Checking Zhan Long Shan stabbed into the ground, pinning the cat-girl to the ground. Because the cat-girl's body was maintaining the inertia of pouncing forward, the blade directly sliced open her chest, cutting all the way to the abdomen.

The cat-girl spat out a large mouthful of blood. Her pupils trembled because she couldn't figure it out—she couldn't figure out why Su Xiao had suddenly disappeared.

"Specialization?"

Boom!

Su Xiao stepped on the cat-girl's face, and the upper half of the cat-girl's body sank into the stone slab.

Su Xiao pulled out the long blade and slashed at the cat-girl's head.

Pfft, blood sprayed several meters high. The cat-girl's body twitched, her hands formed claws, and then they hung down softly.

Although he successfully cut off the cat-girl's head and pierced the other party's heart, Su Xiao didn't stop slashing.

Just as Su Xiao raised the blade in his hand, the cat-woman, whose upper body had been submerged in the ground, suddenly "resurrected." She slapped the ground with both hands and leaped backward.

The cat-girl was still alive? To be precise, with the Chimera Ant's powerful vitality, even if her head was cut off and her heart pierced, she wouldn't die immediately. Moreover, the cat-girl's Nen ability was very special.

The cat-girl, whose head had been cut off, stood not far away. She was holding her own head in her hand. Behind her was a red phantom. The phantom had many threads on its hands, and the threads were connected to the cat-girl, making her like a marionette. It was precisely because of this that she could continue to fight.

This Nen ability was called "Terpsichora." If given some time, the cat-girl could even use this ability to sew her head and heart together, thereby "resurrecting on the spot."
