Chapter 1640: Return

The bright moon hung high. In the central street of Fuyuki City, inside a church that had been almost completely blown up.

This was the Kotomine Church. On a charred bench, Su Xiao held a bunch of white flowers in his hand.

"Father, I slaughtered your only son. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to bring him to your grave."

Su Xiao casually threw down the white flowers in his hand. Back when he first entered the Holy Grail World, Kotomine Risei's help to him hadn't been small, or rather, among the many derived worlds he had experienced, the old priest was one of the two plot characters who had the best relationship with him. As for others, most were plotting against each other. Unfortunately, the old priest eventually died at the hands of his own biological offspring.

The reason Su Xiao had time to come here was because he hadn't found Matou Sakura's whereabouts. After some searching, he discovered that not only were the Mage Association meddling in this matter, but there were vaguely traces of other contractors. In this way, it was even harder to find Matou Sakura and that Heroic Spirit. Although Su Xiao's strength was stronger than these people, he wasn't omniscient and omnipotent either.

The expected battle between biological sisters didn't appear. What surprised Su Xiao even more was that Gilgamesh had actually been killed by those lone wolves. As a price, nearly twenty lone wolves had only two survivors.

Gilgamesh being killed led to Illya's situation becoming even more unstable. Although Gilgamesh wasn't a Heroic Spirit of this Holy Grail War, he still had the nature of a Heroic Spirit. His death led to the Little Holy Grail being about to be filled, which meant the Hole of Heaven was about to open.

There was no such thing as a "Holy Grail" at all, or rather, after the Third Holy Grail War, the nature of the Holy Grail had undergone a qualitative change. The person closest to the Holy Grail back then was Emiya Kiritsugu, who perceived that the Holy Grail was no longer an omnipotent wish-granting machine, so he had Saber destroy the Holy Grail.

Rumble...

Roaring sounds came. Su Xiao stood up and looked toward the east side of Fuyuki City. A "dark moon" appeared, with a cyan halo on the edge of the dark moon. That was precisely the Hole of Heaven.

"Who exactly is snatching food."

Although Su Xiao hadn't been able to find Matou Sakura, he wasn't too disappointed, because his purpose this time was to resolve the grudge with the Blood Gate. Everything else belonged to extra gains. Not finding Matou Sakura could be considered within reason; after all, he had wasted a lot of time on the Blood Gate adventure group side.

Checking the existing World Source, it had reached 51.4%. Compared to the past, the World Source this time wasn't much, but it definitely wasn't little either.

"Bringing the Little Holy Grail so far away, Tohsaka Rin wouldn't really think that once the Hole of Heaven is summoned, it will immediately spray black mud, right?"

"Woof."

Xiang Ignoring Bubu Wang beside Su Xiao barked, meaning: "Isn't this what you said?"

"Did I say that?"

Su Xiao looked at Xiang Ignoring Bubu Wang. Xiang Ignoring Bubu Wang's dog face was embarrassed. Under the lewd power of pocket money, it shook its head, its conscience aching incomparably.

Su Xiao didn't go near the Hole of Heaven, because that no longer had any meaning, or rather, Matou Sakura hadn't appeared from start to finish, not because she was timid, but because a certain high-level official of the Zhong Ta had bluntly told her what the Holy Grail actually was.

Once Stan died, his contract with a certain Zhong Ta high-level official was lifted. From that moment on, the Holy Grail War for Matou Sakura retreated from a responsibility to a training. With Su Xiao in the Holy Grail War, it was obviously nightmare difficulty, so that old magician who was a disciple-protecting maniac couldn't let Matou Sakura continue to participate in the Holy Grail War.

Back then, Kayneth participated in the Holy Grail War, and his purpose wasn't for the Holy Grail either, but because of the rapid decline of his family; he urgently needed a victory or proof that would make people awe, so as to stabilize his position as a Lord of the Zhong Ta.

【Prompt: The main task has reached the time limit.】

Judging the current progress...

The current plot progress is as follows:

1. Number of surviving Heroic Spirits: 2 (Comprehensive evaluation -5%).

2. Number of surviving contractors: 4 (Hunter has temporarily disguised as a contractor).

3. Hole of Heaven has been summoned (Comprehensive evaluation +16%).

4. Holy Grail War has not completely ended (Comprehensive evaluation -31%).

5. Little Holy Grail container has survived (Comprehensive evaluation +3%).

6. Mage Association has interfered with the Holy Grail War multiple times (Comprehensive evaluation +2%).

【Prompt: Because the Holy Grail War has not completely ended, the Hunter will enter the Starry Sky Legacy to wait for the Holy Grail World to end, and wait for the final evaluation.】

Seeing this series of prompts, although Su Xiao was somewhat novel, he wasn't too surprised. After all, his main task this time wasn't completely finished. It was within reason that he needed to wait a moment to return to Reincarnation Paradise.

Su Xiao didn't have much reaction, but the masked woman far away in the canyon had no small reaction. It was precisely because she snatched food from Su Xiao that she obtained a large amount of benefits through hidden tasks.

"Wait, I..."

Before the masked woman could finish her sentence, she was wrapped in space power. When she recovered her sanity, she was already in a starry sky. This place was somewhat similar to the Starry Sky Transit Station. The galaxy below was beautiful, and a chain as black as ink traversed the starry sky, shaking the soul.

The masked woman rubbed the back of her head lightly. Just as she recovered from the teleportation sensation, she discovered that four pairs of eyes were staring at her.

"Hello everyone."

The masked woman had already begun to pray silently in her heart: "He doesn't remember me, doesn't remember me, doesn't remember me, please don't remember me."

"Masked woman."

"Ah~"

The masked woman groaned in a low voice, as if ten thousand grass mud horses were trampling over her head.

"Apart from you, there are two others. It seems that one of you three took Matou Sakura away."

Su Xiao's expression was very calm. Everyone relied on their own ability. He hadn't found Matou Sakura, and he had nothing to regret.

"..."

The masked woman spread her hands toward Su Xiao, noncommittal.

"Everyone relies on their own ability, no one will form a grudge because of this little thing."

Su Xiao just wanted to light a cigarette, but discovered that the flame couldn't be lit here.

"You're right, everyone relies on their own ability, no need to form a grudge because of some trifles."

"In other words, it was indeed you who took Matou Sakura away."

Su Xiao suddenly turned his gaze. The masked woman cursed "Damn" in her heart, secretly scolding: "This guy is so insidious."

"It can't be counted as me taking Matou Sakura away. It was an old guy from the Mage Association. After you pushed through Ryudoji Temple, that old guy's expression was exceptionally wonderful. The Banshee he had high hopes for obviously couldn't block you, so that old guy took this desperate measure. To that old guy who had no children, Matou Sakura was the apple of his eye. Speaking of which, what grudge do you have with the Blood Gate to tear each other apart to that extent?"

"Who knows."

Su Xiao finally figured out what was going on. This Holy Grail War was simply beating people's heads into dog heads, involving both the Mage Association and the Holy Church, so that these manipulators behind the scenes couldn't sit firmly on the fishing platform.

Just as Su Xiao was pondering, two more contractors were teleported here. Both were covered in blood, and both were glaring at each other. One of them had a cold expression, like a poisonous snake, with half of his head shattered, while the other had his hands in his pockets, with a snake-tooth-shaped dagger stuck in his head.

"I *****."

The cold man had just opened his mouth, and it was a "greeting" to the female relatives of the dagger man for several generations. The dagger man just smiled and didn't ignore the cold man at all.

【Prompt: The Holy Grail World has ended.】

【Prompt: After participating in the Fifth Holy Grail War, you will not enter the Holy Grail World again.】

【Teleportation is about to begin.】

【Teleportation complete, Hunter returns to the exclusive room.】
