Chapter 2048

Boom, boom, boom...

Sounds of roaring came, and after lasting at least half a minute, the explosion sounds subsided.

Blood mist exploded, and the surrounding trees and vegetation were blown into fragments.

If it were just 109 points of real strength and 115 real stamina attributes, Su Xiao would definitely be able to slaughter these Undead in a short time.

Even if these Undead mastered various mastery abilities, Su Xiao would at most feel it was tricky. What was truly difficult about these Undead was their immortality.

Most Fifth Tier contractors might not necessarily have attributes as high as these Undead, and coupled with infection and immortality abilities, they became even more difficult to deal with.

Moreover, these Undead acted in groups. With over a hundred Undead pouncing, even Su Xiao could only temporarily avoid the sharp edge. If he were not careful, he might be focused-fired by over a hundred Undead with long spears.

Not only that, Su Xiao also had a feeling that there seemed to be some connection between these Undead.

Blood mist drifted away, and black threadworms wriggled on the ground. These black threadworms were pitch black, with smooth and hard outer skin. After drilling into an enemy's body, the enemy would feel how strong their power was, as well as the severe pain, despair, and helplessness of such a foreign object drilling inside the body.

A dense patch of black threadworms covered the ground, looking abnormally terrifying.

Crack~

The sound of crystal shattering came, and finally it exploded with a bang, blowing away a large patch of black threadworms.

Su Xiao stood on a piece of ground not occupied by black threadworms, and the surrounding black threadworms surged toward him.

Blood dripped down Su Xiao's chin. He tilted his head and spat out a mouthful of blood. The blood had just fallen into the nearby black threadworms when it was swallowed up.

Su Xiao's gaze swept around. He was not lightly injured. The self-detonation of the 48 Undead just now seemed to have a small impact range, but in reality, the power was extremely strong.

Under normal circumstances, an Undead self-detonation could cause about 1000 points of shock damage + virus erosion damage. Su Xiao did not receive virus erosion damage, and the shock damage, after being reduced by his layers of abilities, coupled with his already strong body, meant the actual shock damage received was only 425 points.

425 points of self-detonation damage seemed like nothing, but what if 48 Undead self-detonated continuously?

At the very beginning, 10 Undead self-detonated simultaneously. This wave had the strongest impact. Fortunately, Su Xiao used the Dragon Shadow Flash ability to penetrate space at zero distance, dodging this strongest self-detonation in a penetrated state.

Immediately afterward, Su Xiao consumed nearly one-third of his mana to generate a crystal layer around him, which was how he resisted the subsequent 38 Undead self-detonations.

Undead could not only self-detonate; 100 seconds later, their shattered bodies could re-gather together, after which they would fall into a weak state.

The surrounding black threadworms surged toward Su Xiao. Su Xiao stepped on the ground, and the Green Qing Qing Gang Ying energy surged toward the surroundings, forcing back thousands of black threadworms.

The forest wind blew, and a few green leaves fell, only to be swallowed by the black threadworms instantly. These things were clearly capable of decomposing organic matter.

What was puzzling was that the 70-plus Undead around did not take the opportunity to attack Su Xiao with long spears, but instead surrounded him, watching coldly.

Su Xiao wiped the bloodstains on his chin. He had already thought about what these Undead wanted to do, which was to assimilate him, and through the black threadworms, make him become an Undead as well.

However, compared to this possibility, Su Xiao felt that the Undead around seemed to be vigilant about something, which was why they didn't attack with full force.

"Mogro..."

Su Xiao looked around. His large-scale perception ability was not strong, but he vaguely sensed an aura. This aura was very similar to Mogro's, but it was also somewhat different. Compared to Mogro, this aura was more erosive.

Su Xiao temporarily ignored that aura and focused on the battle at hand. Conventional attacks had very poor effects against these Undead because they had two types of health.

First was the conventional health, which was vitality. Any attack could reduce the Undead's conventional health. After the Undead's conventional health was exhausted, they would "die." This death was not losing mobility, but continuing to act on the premise of dropping treasure chests.

The second type of health was real health. To completely eliminate the Undead, killing all the black threadworms inside their bodies, which were the undead worms, was the key. It was precisely these undead worms that allowed the Undead to act freely after their heads or other vital parts were slashed off.

The real damage of Green Qing Qing Gang Ying had a miraculous effect against undead worms. The problem was, Su Xiao didn't know where the undead worms were located inside the Undead.

The location where the undead worms were concentrated was the vital part of the Undead.

Su Xiao's gaze swept around. If he knew where the vital part of the Undead was, he wouldn't be unable to deal with these Undead.

The Undead's attack ability was extremely strong, while Su Xiao was even stronger.

The first blade slashed and broke, the second blade killed instantly, and after that, the Undead's actions were completely driven by the undead worms inside their bodies. This was the most troublesome part.

Su Xiao's strength crushed individual Undead, but apart from the eclipse period, the Undead's attack power could be described as off the charts. Throwing technique + infection + undead worms parasitizing inside the long spear—this triple attack superposition was something ordinary people couldn't hold up against.

The scene fell into a stalemate. Around Su Xiao were surging undead worms and large patches of broken flesh, and in the outer circle were Undead one by one.

Su Xiao's thoughts turned rapidly. There would be such a situation highly likely because there were leaders among the Undead, and these Undead all looked the same, making it very difficult to find the leader.

"U ma su, ba ba lu ka (unknown language)."

A shout that sounded quite primitive came. Just as this sound fell, Su Xiao felt a sense of crisis.

A large group of undead worms suddenly stopped surging. A moment later, they gathered in one direction, finally converging together, gradually forming a huge monster.

In an instant, the undead worms formed a tall humanoid creature. Its height was at least 10 meters or more, it had no head, there was a huge eyeball on its chest, and its two arms were abnormally thick. The left arm was entirely flesh structure, and the right arm was composed of undead worms.

【Warning: Undead have formed 'Fission Body Type 2'.】

【Hint: Fission Body Type 2 is a leader-level unit.】

【Hint: Fission Body Type 2 can evolve to overlord level.】

……

Seeing the Fission Body Type 2 in front, Su Xiao finally knew why he had always had a sense of crisis with his hair standing on end. Compared to the siege of the Undead, they were stronger after gathering together.

The neck of Fission Body Type 2 opened, revealing a bloody mouth. Pale red mucus formed a stringy shape between the bloody mouth, looking extremely disgusting.

"Roar!!"

Fission Body Type 2 roared, and a pale red air wave spread, enveloping Su Xiao inside.

【Warning: The concentration of plant virus in the air has increased significantly.】

【Warning: The Hunter has a 23.5% chance of being infected!】

【The Hunter is about to be infected, judging...】

【The 'plant virus' in the Hunter's body has been cleared by Green Qing Qing Gang Ying energy.】

……

Su Xiao blocked in front with one arm, and a stinging pain came to his eardrums. Soon, the roar of Fission Body Type 2 stopped.

Clang.

The blade light slashed across the torso of Fission Body Type 2, blood splashed everywhere, and that eyeball with a diameter of two meters was slashed and exploded, quickly deflating.

"Woo?"

Fission Body Type 2 was clearly stunned, reaching out to press its chest, seemingly noticing that the eyeball on its chest had been slashed and exploded. It was very angry.

What was worse was that the loud noise produced by the battle here attracted other Undead in the nearby area. According to what Bubu Wang saw, just in the direction it was in, over two hundred Undead rushed over, and there might be more in other directions.
