Chapter 2408
On the main street at the front gate of Doom Town, a giant fist composed of energy descended from the sky, crashing toward the Immortal One.
With a *swish*, a long blade with traces of rust on its body slashed through, cutting the giant energy fist into two halves, which then exploded. Seeing this, Eisi, standing on a totem pole, revealed a worried look, hesitating whether to go all out. Her healing class was a fake; seeing things reach this point, she felt like charging over.
Compared to the "Mighty Milk" Eisi and Murder Bee, White Bull and the Captain were having a terrible time; the two of them were in close-quarters combat with the Immortal One.
With a *bang*, the Immortal One kicked White Bull in the chest, causing the strip-like clothing all over his body to flutter, and then backhanded a slash toward White Bull's neck.
White Bull leaned his body back with all his might, but before the enemy's blade could slash down, he felt dull impacts appearing one after another on his right leg, lower abdomen, and shoulder.
*Puchi. *
A large patch of skin and flesh wrapped in exoskeleton flew up; the Immortal One stepped on the top of White Bull's head with one foot, and with a *boom*, stomped White Bull into the ground.
The ground centered on the depression, appearing with large cracks; if this were a low-tier world, White Bull would have been stomped a hundred meters deep into the ground.
With a *wah*, White Bull spat out a large mouthful of fresh blood; black light flickered in his eyes, and a wave suddenly appeared.
"Die, die, die!"
White Bull's right hand gradually clenched tight; the Immortal One floated in mid-air, his whole body creaking.
With a *whoosh*, a blurred figure rushed in front of the Immortal One, and a fist wrapped in a metal gauntlet slammed down.
*Bang! *
The air exploded; the Immortal One tilted his head slightly, and a few gray long hairs were shattered.
The Captain retreated rapidly, aided by the recoil force generated by his own punch, but before he could land, a long blade stabbed toward his face.
With a *swish*, the long blade pierced through the Captain's shoulder, and the next moment it was pulled away. Almost at the same time, three bloodstains appeared on the Captain's body. Rapid, fierce, and sharp—this was the Immortal One.
"Bee, hurry!"
*Bang! *
After the crisp gunshot, the Immortal One staggered and shifted a few steps sideways. The long blade in his hand was held horizontally in front of his neck, with a silver bullet full of engravings embedded in it.
"Eisi, if you don't make a move, we're all going to die here today!"
White Bull roared, blood flowing down the exoskeleton on his body surface. His health was down to only 51%. Having withstood over a dozen slashes from the Immortal One, if it weren't for Eisi's healing ability, he would have died here long ago.
"I'm just a weak healing class, don't overthink it."
Eisi still stood on the totem pole with her arms crossed. Given her imposing figure, she didn't look "weak" in any way.
"After selling the furnace, you get one-third! If we don't get the key, we get nothing!"
The Captain shouted loudly. Hearing this, a smile appeared on Eisi's resolute face.
"If you had said that earlier, there wouldn't be any issues. Little Bee, confirm the situation nearby."
Eisi jumped down from the totem pole. The "Little Bee" she referred to was Murder Bee not far away.
"You really know how to order people around."
Murder Bee pointed her index finger at her temple. With a *hum*, a shockwave spread to the surroundings. Perception didn't have much effect in Doom Town; even if a perception-type came, their perception range would be suppressed to within twenty meters. Murder Bee's move was clearly not perception.
As soon as the shockwave spread, Murder Bee's pupils rapidly constricted.
"There's someone outside the high wall! Four creatures with heat signatures!"
Murder Bee's words shocked the other three. They were currently dealing with the Immortal One; being caught in a pincer attack now would mean certain death.
"Retreat!"
The Captain made a prompt decision, preparing to retreat immediately.
"No, Captain, you and I will block the Immortal One. White Bull, Murder Bee, you two go solve those people."
Eisi clearly didn't intend to retreat. Retreating now was meaningless; being blocked from front and back was already a foregone conclusion.
"Wait, wait."
Murder Bee's delicate face showed some disbelief, then a smile appeared on her face.
"There is only one contractor outside the high wall; the other three are summons."
"Damn! Summoning class!"
The Captain cursed lowly. The higher the tier, the more troublesome the summoning class became.
"Not sure which Paradise they're from, and specific data can't be detected. Doom Town is suppressing my detection equipment, but the opponent's brand is Tier 6."
When Murder Bee said this, she felt both helpless and amused. Helpless because a Tier 6 contractor had actually blundered into Doom Town, and amused because they had actually been scared to this state by a Tier 6 contractor.
It wasn't rare for a Tier 6 contractor to enter a Tier 7 world; this situation usually happened when breaking through the 150-point attribute barrier. Once such a Tier 6 contractor reached a Tier 7 world, they were just there to complete a mission and pass the barrier assessment. In this case, there would be no main mission or world settlement.
"Tier 6 contractor? Don't hold your breath next time, you scared the hell out of me."
The Captain wiped the blood off his face, his gaze fixed on the Immortal One. For some reason, the Immortal One hadn't rushed over, but was searching for something.
This was a god-given opportunity. The Captain pondered for a moment and decided to let White Bull retreat first. White Bull was the most severely injured, and Eisi was no longer hiding her strength; it was time to let this woman block the Immortal One for a while.
"White Bull, finish it quickly, and restore your health while you're at it."
While staring at the Immortal One, the Captain spoke with a half-instruction. It was just a Tier 6 contractor, easy to solve.
"Alright, I'll finish it in five minutes."
"Bullshit, I'll give you one minute at most."
"So strict."
White Bull covered the back of his neck with one hand, moving his neck which was aching dully. That kick from the Immortal One earlier had almost crushed his spine.
"Boss, it seems we've been exposed. That guy with horns is walking toward us."
"Moo?"
"Not talking to you."
Baha tapped Amu's head lightly with his wing.
"Hey, little Tier 6 brother outside the wall, want to come and fight the boss together? It's the gatekeeper boss of the hidden area. After killing it, there's a reward of Soul Coins. If you help, I'll share a few with you."
The exoskeleton covering White Bull's face shattered, revealing his honest-looking face. He was smiling, smiling very casually.
Su Xiao walked out from beside the door hole of the high wall, one hand pressing on the hilt of the blade at his waist.
"Don't worry, I have no ill intentions. In a hellhole like Doom Town, only cooperation can lead to a win-win. Am I right, little brother?"
As White Bull spoke, he walked forward slowly. He didn't dare to walk too fast, fearing Su Xiao would run away. In fact, White Bull was overthinking it.
"What you said makes sense."
A smile also appeared on Su Xiao's face. Xiang Bubu Wang, Amu, and Baha all walked out from beside the door hole.
White Bull, who was walking slowly, paused. What made him feel incredible was that he actually felt danger. He looked left and right but didn't see any other Doom Town residents nearby, which made him even more puzzled.
When White Bull's gaze turned back to Su Xiao's side, he saw four pairs of eyes glowing with red light.
"I... damn!"
White Bull turned around and prepared to retreat, rushing toward the outside of the high wall's door hole. He swore to the heavens that a Tier 6 contractor could never have this kind of aura; he could even smell a faint scent of blood.
"Brother, what's wrong with you? Leaving already?"
Baha appeared on White Bull's shoulder at some point. Tank classes weren't known for their speed, and Baha was a space-type anyway.
