Chapter 2812: Tier 8 Trial

Light and shadow shuttled before his eyes. Su Xiao felt the space-travel device beneath him vibrate slightly, and then the scene around him returned to normal. He was already in the back room of Reide's smithy.

"Bai Ye, thanks for this time."

Reide was in a good mood. Although there had been an episode along the way, Su Xiao had given him enough face. It hadn't been in vain that he had always helped Su Xiao repair and forge equipment for free. Besides that, whenever Su Xiao obtained mineral-type items, Reide would buy them at 7% above market price.

"If you have any equipment that needs repairing, just say the word."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course, I'm a man of my word."

"Hmm."

Su Xiao took off his 【Wild Hunt Night】 long leather coat and tossed it to Reide. During the battle with the King of Doin, the durability of this equipment had dropped significantly. Since Reide had previously been on the verge of a mental breakdown repairing this coat, Su Xiao had been prepared to find another repairer, but since Reide had offered, he wouldn't be polite.

Reide held the 【Wild Hunt Night】 long leather coat, looking as if he had turned to stone. He really wanted to slap himself in the face right now.

After leaving Reide's smithy, Su Xiao noticed that there were far fewer people in Samsara Paradise. This was because the contractors had all entered mission worlds. Every time a mission world opened, it opened many worlds at the same time. Those who remained in Samsara Paradise were basically just staff members.

A staff member with arms crossed, humming a tune, walked past Su Xiao. This staff member's expression was exceptionally relaxed; after all, the lunatics (contractors) had all entered mission worlds.

It could be said that over 98% of staff members were quite normal. Although they occasionally entered mission worlds, the main missions they received were relatively simple. Initially, it was just running errands, and by the final stage of the mission, they would at most eliminate a few ordinary enemies, not even encountering elite units.

Su Xiao hadn't entered a mission world because he was about to participate in the Tier 8 promotion trial. Up to now, he had no information about the next world; no prompts had appeared, and he didn't even know when he could enter the world.

At this moment, Su Xiao still had 611 Soul Coins left. No one was setting up stalls on the trading street, and while there were stalls in the trading market, those were transactions between staff members, and there was nothing Su Xiao needed.

As for going to the fifth floor of the Land of All Living Things, Su Xiao weighed it in his heart and decided to keep these 611 Soul Coins. Ever since he met Wusan-xiong, Su Xiao would always leave a certain amount of Paradise Coins before entering a mission world; now it was Soul Coins, as that skydiving experience was too unforgettable.

With nothing to do, Su Xiao walked into a narrow street and pushed open the door to a restaurant.

"Welcome to—eh? Eh, eh, eh?"

Seeing Su Xiao walk into the restaurant, Xia, who was holding a game controller behind the bar, was very surprised. Beside her was a girl with thick-rimmed glasses and messy hair.

"You should have entered a world by now."

Xia put down the game controller and tied up her hair, preparing to cook in the back kitchen.

"We've all been demoted to staff members."

Baha flipped through the menu, while Amu grabbed several menus.

Xia smiled, noncommittal. She didn't believe that Su Xiao had been demoted to a staff member.

Under Xia's already somewhat numb gaze, Amu, Xiang Ignoring Bubu Wang, and Baha finished ordering. She was already used to it; due to the high-intensity cooking, her physical attribute had even increased by 1 point.

Before long, delicious dishes were served. Amu started devouring them first. By the time Amu was half-full, Xia was already sitting across from them at the dining table, a strand of her hair sticking to her cheek due to the sweat from her face.

After a hearty meal, Su Xiao lit a cigarette and rested in his seat for a while before walking out of the restaurant.

"Xia, they haven't paid the bill yet. They're eating for free. Do you want me to go warn them?"

Behind the bar, the girl with messy hair and thick-rimmed glasses, holding a game controller, spoke up.

"Stay calm. It's not eating for free..."

"As your friend, how can I stay calm seeing you being bullied?"

The bespectacled girl narrowed her eyes, her gaze somewhat dangerous.

"Very reliable. But, his name is Bai Ye, he's a regular customer, he pays the bill every 1000 Paradise Coins."

Hearing this, the bespectacled girl fell silent for a moment.

"I think I'll just keep playing games. It's dangerous outside."

In his exclusive room, Su Xiao waited for over an hour before finally receiving a prompt from Samsara Paradise.

【Prompt: Hunter is about to return to the real world. Transmission has begun.】

Just as Su Xiao saw this prompt, he was transmitted back to the real world, and the entire squad was transmitted back with him, with Amu in a disguised state, while Xiang Ignoring Bubu Wang, Baha, and Beini didn't need to disguise themselves.

"Meow?"

Beini, returning to the real world for the first time, looked around. Su Xiao's brow was tightly furrowed; this new world was too peculiar. He had waited for so long, yet there was no entry prompt, and instead, he had been sent back to the real world to wait.

【Prompt: Hunter will undergo the Tier 8 promotion trial in 4 hours.】

【Because Hunter's combat power exceeds Tier 7, the Void Tree has determined that Hunter will be delayed in entering the??? world, and the entry location will be extremely far from over 99% of contractors.】

Seeing these two prompts, Su Xiao understood why he had been delayed in entering the new world. The notary for the new world was the Void Tree, which was quite interesting.

Clearly, contractors had already begun entering the world he was about to enter, and the order of entry was based on their own combat power. Weaker Tier 7 contractors entered the world earlier, while Su Xiao's side had been pushed back by a full few days.

A peaceful life in the real world began. It is worth mentioning that Su Xiao discovered a new cold drink shop had opened across the street, run by a pair of siblings who were both new contractors.

Time passed quickly. On the evening of the second day, Su Xiao received a prompt from Samsara Paradise.

【Prompt: A new world is about to open. Hunter will return to Samsara Paradise. Please ensure there are no witnesses nearby.】

【Prompt: The new world is a super-large world, involving confrontation with external forces, resource competition, etc.】

【Paradise Merit System is about to open.】

【World Conquest War is about to begin.】

【Transmitting... Transmission location: Samsara Paradise.】

【Transmission complete.】

【Void Tree notarial process in progress...】

【Notarization complete. During the World Conquest War, Samsara Paradise, Death Paradise, Sanctuary Paradise, and Apocalypse Paradise are prohibited from providing any form of assistance to their respective contractors.】

【War location: Demon Spirit Star.】

【War intensity: High!】

【According to Initial Law No. 1548762, the Void Tree is an absolute neutral party.】

【Hunter is about to participate in the Tier 7 World Conquest War.】

【Prompt: You have obtained Common Language Lv. 70 (Temporary Skill), which will be forgotten after the World Conquest War. This is an ability granted by the four-party notarization (Samsara, Sanctuary, Death, Apocalypse).】

【Prompt: Long-distance transmission preparation complete. First stop, Starry Sky Transfer Station. Disguise function enabled. 6 Tier 8 contractors from Sanctuary Paradise, Death Paradise, and Apocalypse Paradise will arrive at the Starry Sky Transfer Station with Hunter.】
