Chapter 851: Simplified Version

It was still that ancient battlefield. As soon as Sensing Su Xiao arrived, the blood energy of the ancient battlefield attacked him.

Sensing Su Xiao released his aura. Compared to last time, his aura was clearly stronger. However, the blood energy of the ancient battlefield was too strong, and his aura was not enough to fully resist this blood energy.

If Sensing Su Xiao wanted to swallow this blood energy through the Devouring Core or the Demon Seal, he first had to have the ability to resist it.

Now, apart from constantly releasing his aura, he couldn't do anything else. If he lost focus for even a moment, he would be eroded by the blood energy. Once fully eroded, the consequences would be serious.

The blood energy gradually permeated into Sensing Su Xiao's aura. This blood energy would affect his sanity and reason.

Blood-red patterns gradually appeared on Sensing Su Xiao's cheeks, red light shone in his eyes, and the blood energy was rapidly eroding his consciousness.

Sensing Su Xiao tried his best to maintain his sanity, but he could feel that his reason was gradually disappearing. If it weren't for the Blade of the Soul keeping him awake, he would have been swallowed by the blood energy long ago. This blood energy had already broken through the scope of mental influence.

Just as Sensing Su Xiao was about to be unable to block the erosion of the blood energy, light and shadow flashed before his eyes, and he returned to the skill upgrade pod. The blood energy in his body instantly dissipated.

【Aura Release (Passive) has been upgraded to lv. 3.】

Sensing Su Xiao leaned against the skill upgrade pod, panting heavily, his face covered in cold sweat.

Wanting to absorb that blood energy was harder than he had imagined. Let alone absorbing it, even resisting it initially was difficult.

"Continue."

Sensing Su Xiao paid another 30,000 Paradise Coins and was teleported to the ancient battlefield.

Half an hour later, Sensing Su Xiao's figure suddenly appeared in the skill upgrade pod. His face was covered in blood-red patterns, his eyes flashing with red light, like a blood demon from purgatory. He had entered and exited the ancient battlefield several times.

Green light spots wrapped around Sensing Su Xiao, and the blood energy in his body dissipated.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

Sensing Su Xiao let out a series of violent dry coughs, and drops of blood were coughed out. When he entered the ancient battlefield for the sixth time, he tried to absorb the blood energy, but the blood energy went out of control as soon as it entered his body. He didn't remember anything after that. When his consciousness recovered, he was already in the skill enhancement pod, and his body felt very heavy, as if he had just recovered from a serious illness.

【Aura Release (Passive) has been upgraded to lv. 7.】

【Warning: Hunter has been eroded by the ancient battlefield's blood energy. Pay Paradise Coins to recover?】

"Pay."

As soon as Sensing Su Xiao finished speaking, Paradise Coins dropped at an alarming rate. In an instant, 13,500 Paradise Coins were consumed.

"What the hell..."

Sensing Su Xiao couldn't help but curse. He accepted that the price of upgrading "Aura Release" was high, but why was the cost of recovering from injuries so high?

The discomfort in his body disappeared. Sensing Su Xiao hesitated for a moment and chose to upgrade "Aura Release" again.

It was still that ancient battlefield. As soon as Sensing Su Xiao arrived, he immediately sat cross-legged on the ground, subconsciously releasing his aura to resist the blood energy. He didn't use any other abilities, and even compressed his Qing Gang Ying energy near his heart.

He came here to improve his aura intensity. If he used other abilities to resist the blood energy, the Paradise Coins would be spent for nothing.

Sensing Su Xiao already felt that when he used his own aura to resist the blood energy, the intensity of his aura was gradually increasing.

Sensing Su Xiao's aura formed a circle, a five-meter-sized sphere, with pale blue threads flashing beautifully inside.

As time went on, sweat seeped from Sensing Su Xiao's cheeks. His aura had been compressed by the blood energy into a two-meter-sized sphere, and the blood energy was about to erode his body.

As the aura was compressed, it gradually became condensed, and both intensity and quantity increased due to external pressure.

The surrounding blood energy wasn't targeting Sensing Su Xiao; they were just eroding unconsciously. Even so, when the blood energy eroded Sensing Su Xiao's aura, these blood energies formed blood-red spikes that pierced into Sensing Su Xiao's aura.

A blood-colored spike gradually touched the back of Sensing Su Xiao's hand. In an instant, blood-red patterns appeared on the back of his hand and spread rapidly to all parts of his body.

When the blood-colored patterns spread to Sensing Su Xiao's neck, his cheeks began to twitch.

Swoosh~

Sensing Su Xiao disappeared from the ancient battlefield and returned to the skill upgrade pod.

The blood energy in his body instantly dissipated, and the blood-red patterns on Sensing Su Xiao's body peeled off his skin and quickly disappeared into the air.

【Aura Release (Passive) has been upgraded to lv. 8.】

Sensing Su Xiao opened his eyes. After some upgrades, he could initially resist the blood energy for a period of time. Initially, he wouldn't last more than 5 seconds before being teleported out of the ancient battlefield, but now, he could hold on for 48 seconds.

"Just a little bit more."

Sensing Su Xiao hesitated for a moment and chose to continue. Although that ancient battlefield was very dangerous, risk and reward coexisted.

Ten minutes later, Sensing Su Xiao, covered in blood-colored patterns, fell to the ground. He tried to absorb the blood energy again, but still failed.

【Aura Release (Passive) has been upgraded to lv. 10.】

【Tip: Because 'Aura Release (Passive)' has been upgraded to lv. 10, the Hunter can choose a branch reward for level lv. 10.】

a. Iron Will: Willpower +3.

b. Soul of Asura: Can mimic your own aura as a Blood Asura, enhancing the deterrence effect (this effect has no attack power).

c. Aura Amplification: Aura intensity +10%.

Three options. If it were in the past, Sensing Su Xiao would have chosen reward 'a' without hesitation. However, this time, Sensing Su Xiao had greater ambitions.

After considering for a long time, Sensing Su Xiao finally chose reward 'c', Aura intensity +10%.

As soon as he made the choice, Sensing Su Xiao's aura suddenly released.

Boom.

An extremely strong aura spread in the skill upgrade pod, and the intensity of this aura increased rapidly.

After a long while, Sensing Su Xiao let out a long breath.

"Now, perhaps there's a chance."

Sensing Su Xiao took out a bottle of chewing gum, poured one out, and chewed it in his mouth. Although his mana consumption wasn't high, he had to keep his mana at full value. When he entered the ancient battlefield next time, he would implement a plan.

"Continue upgrading 'Aura Release'."

【Upgrading 'Aura Release lv. 10 (Passive)' requires 50,000 Paradise Coins. Pay/Not Pay?】

Sensing Su Xiao grinned. The cost of strengthening Aura Release was even higher.

"Pay."

Light and shadow flashed before his eyes, and Sensing Su Xiao appeared on the ancient battlefield. He was already somewhat familiar with this place.

As soon as he arrived at the ancient battlefield, Sensing Su Xiao immediately sat cross-legged on the ground, releasing his aura, which had been upgraded to lv. 10. This time, he resisted the surrounding blood energy much more easily.

Closing his eyes to perceive for a moment, under the erosion of the blood energy, Sensing Su Xiao could hold on for about 5 minutes at most. Time was tight, and he needed to be as fast as possible.

Sensing Su Xiao quickly converted the mana in his body into Qing Gang Ying energy. He gathered the Qing Gang Ying energy in his hands and compressed it to a very high concentration.

Mana was consumed rapidly. After converting 1,200 points of mana into Qing Gang Ying energy, a honeycomb-shaped sphere appeared in Sensing Su Xiao's hand.

The structure of this sphere was extremely precise. If one looked closely, it even gave a feeling of dizziness.

As Sensing Su Xiao continued to inject Qing Gang Ying energy into the sphere, its volume gradually increased, from the size of a walnut to the size of an apple.

However, this was not enough. The sphere Sensing Su Xiao created with Qing Gang Ying energy was very close to the structure of the Devouring Core. He had simplified the Devouring Core, making this simplified version of the Devouring Core specialize in three abilities: absorption, purification, and refinement.

For this simplified Devouring Core, the ability Sensing Su Xiao focused on building was purification. The blood energy of the ancient battlefield was too mixed, and there were many types of energy that could not be absorbed into his own aura.

When only 300 points of mana remained, a basketball-sized simplified Devouring Core floated above Sensing Su Xiao's head. He had constructed a complete version of the Devouring Core once before, so constructing a simplified version now wasn't too difficult. ===== CHAPTER 852 =====
