Chapter 929: The National Team MVP

~6 min read 1,194 words

In the hall, Alice’s clone stood on a high platform, smiling at everyone.

“You’ve all worked hard; Alice thoroughly enjoyed this game and has formed deep friendships with each of you.”

Alice still smiled as gently as ever, but after this game ended, everyone knew Alice was a manipulative bitch.

“So happy, so incredibly happy.”

The detective little luoli gritted her teeth.

“Huh? We’ve had skin-to-skin contact—don’t look at me with such a terrifying gaze.”

Whoosh~

Alice’s clone vanished from her spot.

At the same time, Su Xiao gripped the hilt of Zhan Long Shan, and the blade emerged slightly from its scabbard.

Alice appeared beside the detective little luoli and sat beside her on the sofa, pulling the detective little luoli into her arms with one hand.

“Save me~”

The detective little luoli instantly caved and begged for help.

“So scary—I don’t like your gaze.”

Alice held the detective little luoli close, glanced sideways at Su Xiao, and a golden aura surged from her body toward him.

Su Xiao’s eyelids dropped, activating his aura projection ability.

Whoosh!

A pale red aura burst from Su Xiao’s body, surging toward Alice, spreading the stench of blood.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The golden aura and pale red aura collided, and the room erupted like firecrackers, sharp snaps echoing.

The two auras eroded each other; Pi Pang leapt backward, the man with gold-rimmed glasses retreated several steps, drenched in cold sweat, and the three members of the national team condensed energy hammers.

“It’s a pity I didn’t kill you before.”

Alice’s clone still smiled gently, but the detective little luoli swallowed hard—she clearly felt the boiling killing intent radiating from Alice’s clone.

“The whining of a defeated dog.”

Su Xiao’s black hair stirred without wind, his gaze locked on Alice’s clone.

Creak… creak… creak… creak…

Cracks appeared on the furniture in the hall. Sensing this, Alice’s clone retracted her aura; Su Xiao’s aura surged forward. Alice’s clone showed little reaction, but the detective little luoli suffered—she had to guard against Alice while enduring Su Xiao’s aura projection.

“Two games remain. Good luck.”

After leaving Su Xiao a fake “good luck,” Alice rose and walked toward one side of the hall. She tapped the wall with her finger—BOOM! A hidden door opened, revealing a stone staircase leading upward—the path to the fourth floor.

Alice ascended the stairs. As she turned her back to Su Xiao and the others, her gentle smile vanished. A scene appeared in her mind.

If one could read Alice’s memories, they would find this memory: a distant one, so old Alice had forgotten the exact year.

In the memory, on a certain planet in the Void, before a long-range teleportation array.

The array was etched with intricate runes; few used it, for it led to the Void Platform—a half-abandoned site, once an execution ground of an ancient kingdom.

Beside the array stood a large iron cage. At first glance, it resembled a dog kennel—indeed, it was designed to imprison powerful canine-like beings.

Inside the cage was a woman, her body wrapped in a tattered sack, only her head exposed. Her golden hair was dull, her eyes filled with despair. She lay within, naked beneath the sack, her face caked with dirt—clearly captured after a long flight.

Click. Click.

The sound of metal boots striking the ground echoed as a black-haired woman in tight black attire, a long blade at her waist, approached.

Her aura was razor-sharp; her eyes were alert yet cold.

Hearing the clinking boots, the woman in the cage shrank back, letting out an involuntary whimper, her voice trembling with sobs.

The black-haired woman sat atop the cage, crossed her legs, and on her boot’s ankle, another sharp circular saw blade gleamed.

The black-haired woman tugged at her top.

“That bastard Arosa made me this damn tight battle suit.”

She was dissatisfied—the armor was too tight across her chest, though her bust wasn’t large.

“Let me see…”

The black-haired woman pulled out a palm-sized notebook, faint bloodstains still visible on its cover.

“Alice Angelia. Likes to build castles from others’ bones. Merged the Seventeenth Magic Web. Disrupted elemental balance on three planets, causing two to collapse and one to become half-abandoned. Hang you—perfect, the next stop is the Void Platform.”

The black-haired woman leaned forward on the cage, legs spread, staring at the trembling Alice.

“You, the Shadow of Annihilation, have killed countless people—why do you meddle?”

Alice summoned courage and spoke these words.

“Oh? Really? Hahaha. If you only killed people, who’d care? Even if you slaughtered billions, to us of the Shadow of Annihilation, that’s just a personal hobby. But… disrupting elemental balance? That’s unacceptable. You little golden-haired brat, do you know what maintains the Void’s order? Elemental balance + Law Force + Stellar Power. Forget it—you wouldn’t understand. Just think of it this way: I dislike you, so I’m going to kill you. Reasons? The Shadow of Annihilation doesn’t need them.”

The black-haired woman stood up and kicked the cage with her ankle. Alice inside shuddered.

“I… I’m sorry. I’ve severed the Magic Web. I can serve you—just don’t kill me.”

“Oh~”

“You agree?”

Alice’s eyes lit up with joy.

“Decided. I’ll hang you. Conveniently on the way.”

Alice was utterly hopeless. The Shadow of Annihilation never listened to explanations—they were infamous lunatics in the Void.

“One day, I’ll build my own castle, and make you feel the despair I feel now.”

Alice suddenly screamed. The female Shadow of Annihilation remained unmoved. Female Shadows of Annihilation were rare—no, extremely rare.

“Hey! I’m talking to you! You can kill me, but don’t ignore me!”

“Oh? Building a castle? That hobby resembles a certain devil I know—he’s already built his own castle, where he’s a pseudo-god. But you? You’re locked in a cage. If you want to build a castle, first figure out how to kill me. By the way, what color do you like?”

The black-haired woman’s final question startled Alice.

“I like… gold.”

“Then I’ll hang you with golden rope. Aren’t I reasonable?”

“Not at all.”

Boom!

The black-haired woman kicked the cage hard.

“Beg me. Beg me, and I won’t kill you.”

“Please, spare me.”

“Hahaha, I was just joking. How does it feel to be toyed with? Just like you toyed with others, right?”

The black-haired woman lifted the cage. Inside, Alice was utterly hopeless.

Whoosh~

A meteor streaked through the sky, trailing a crimson tail, its diameter tens of thousands of meters.

“Qing Gang·Sha.”

The black-haired woman stomped the ground; pale blue energy erupted outward.

BOOM!

The meteor shattered high above. Simultaneously, the black-haired woman drew her long blade and tossed the cage aside—Alice was merely a minor player to this enemy.

A fragment of the meteor struck the cage where Alice was held. The black-haired woman glanced once, then ignored it.

The memory ended. Alice’s clone stood on the stone staircase, smiling gently.

“Brave ones, the fourth game is about to begin. Follow me. Compared to the third, the fourth game will bring you greater surprises. By the way, the fourth is a survival competition—high freedom. Alice will join too. I’m truly looking forward to it.”
