Chapter 222

As soon as the meeting ended, Lu Fan went to the County Head's office to scout for news.

Bian Jide really didn't treat Lu Fan as an outsider; he closed the door and cursed, "What kind of thing is this? It didn't pass the executive meeting, but it passed at the Standing Committee meeting? Ungrateful wretch!"

Lu Fan comforted him, "County Head, the matter is settled, so don't be angry anymore. There is good in bad; perhaps after the chemical industrial park is declared, it can really attract a few chemical enterprises to come in."

Bian Jide said angrily, "Do you think he is really considering the problem from the perspective of work? Since the Development and Reform Bureau, how many 'human' things has he accomplished? Where hasn't he left a mess behind? Do you really think I don't know what he wants to do? It's nothing more than enclosing land to sell for money, lining his own pockets, and then playing tricks on the application for funds. Just watch, for any random plan or scientific research, he will dare to quote hundreds of thousands or millions!"

Lu Fan said helplessly, "But Secretary Hu clearly expressed his support, and this chemical industrial park cannot be said to have no effect."

"Birds of a feather! Who knows what benefits Liu Guannan promised him, or what kind of ecstasy soup he poured into him!"

After venting for a while, Bian Jide said, "The college entrance exam is coming soon. Tomorrow morning, you accompany me to the High School to express condolences to the teachers and students of the graduating class."

"Alright, County Head, I will notify Zhang Shangjin later."

As soon as the voice fell, Lu Fan's phone rang. After connecting, the County Party Committee Office notified that Secretary Hu Chengwei was going to the High School at 9:00 AM tomorrow to express condolences and asked Lu Fan to accompany him.

After hanging up the phone, Lu Fan looked at Bian Jide helplessly.

"Even this kind of thing has to be snatched? Forget it, I'll go tomorrow!"

The County Party Committee Secretary is the boss; everyone has to give way to him and serve him.

The next day, Lu Fan accompanied County Party Committee Secretary Hu Chengwei to the County High School to conduct a special investigation on the college entrance exam preparation work and to cheer on the high school seniors who were about to take the exam.

Hu Chengwei and his party walked into some classrooms of the graduating grade, cordially visited and expressed condolences to the seniors, teachers, and education workers who were preparing for the exam, and sent good wishes to the seniors who were about to take the college entrance exam.

Hu Chengwei encouraged the students to maintain a normal heart, enhance their self-confidence, and enter the exam hall with a full state and a winning posture, walking with relaxed and confident steps, calmly completing the exam, achieving their best results, and creating brilliance again for Ningyang's college entrance exam!

From beginning to end, Lu Fan hid in the back, not stealing Hu Chengwei's limelight.

That evening, the footage of Hu Chengwei's investigation at the High School appeared on Ningyang News and the Propaganda Department's flash news. His attitude was very amiable and approachable, reflecting his care and attention to the cause of education.

Every time early June arrives, the "care" of leaders at all levels arrives as scheduled.

On June 3rd, Lu Fan accompanied County Head Bian Jide to the High School again.

During the investigation, Bian Jide gave full affirmation to this year's college entrance exam preparation work, pointing out that the High School is a golden signboard of our county's education. The whole county must form a strong atmosphere of social concern for education and respect for education, comprehensively promote the high-quality development of education, and make the golden signboard shine brighter and the education name card more dazzling!

Before he could even return to the County Government and sit still, the County Party Committee Office sent another notification: a leader was coming to Ningyang High School for an investigation. This time it was the heavyweight Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee member and Municipal Party Secretary Li Mingzhou!

Lu Fan hurried to the High School to organize the school to tidy up its appearance.

At four in the afternoon, the vehicle carrying Secretary Li Mingzhou drove into the High School, accompanied by County Party Committee Secretary Hu Chengwei, County Head Bian Jide, and other leaders.

After getting out of the car, Li Mingzhou took the initiative to say to Lu Fan, who was waiting on the side, "I said I would pay attention to Ningyang's college entrance exam this year to see if you were bragging or really working hard!"

Lu Fan hurried forward, stretched out both hands, held Li Mingzhou's hand, and stated, "Secretary, under the care of leaders at all levels and the efforts of all teachers and students, we have the confidence and determination to create brilliance again!"

Li Mingzhou's attitude toward Lu Fan was very kind, revealing a thought-provoking flavor, which made Hu Chengwei, who was on the side, show an unusual expression again.

Li Mingzhou listened carefully to the report on the college entrance exam preparation work of the High School, inquired in detail about the preparation situation of the seniors, as well as the preparation ideas, daily teaching, logistical support, and the study and life of teachers and students in the school, and communicated with representatives of the senior teachers to listen to their opinions and suggestions on education and teaching work.

Walking into the classroom, Li Mingzhou said earnestly to the candidates who were reviewing: The college entrance exam is a key step for us to pursue our dreams in life and realize ourselves. I hope students can walk the path of life more and more smoothly and brightly.

With the college entrance exam approaching, you must relax, adjust your mindset, and devote yourselves wholeheartedly to the exam. I wish you firm confidence, calm exam-taking, and the best performance, achieving excellent results that you can be worthy of, that your family can be gratified by, and that your school can be proud of, and getting into your ideal university!

Secretary Li's encouragement won rounds of applause from the students.

Li Mingzhou also went deep into the senior grade group office to visit and express condolences to the teachers fighting on the front line of college entrance exam preparation, encouraging everyone to continue to carry forward the spirit of dedication to their posts and willingness to contribute, maintain the best state, strive for excellent results, and strive to hand in a satisfactory answer to parents, the school, and society.

Before leaving, Li Mingzhou said to Lu Fan with a smile, "You must do a good job in logistical support to ensure that teachers and students can prepare for the exam smoothly in a peaceful, comfortable, and warm environment; you must also actively do a good job in the psychological education of candidates and guide students to welcome the college entrance exam with a good state. Tell me the first time the results come out!"

Hu Chengwei hurried forward and said, "Please rest assured, Secretary. Ningyang will definitely not fail your expectations. After the results come out, we will report the good news to the Municipal Party Committee the first time!"

After Li Mingzhou left, Hu Chengwei and Bian Jide discussed how to implement Secretary Li's instructions. The final conclusion was to support with money, so the 500,000 appropriation was quickly in place, specifically used for the college entrance exam preparation in these few days.

On June 4th, provincial and municipal supervisors came to Ningyang to guide the relevant preparatory work for the college entrance exam throughout the process.

The county held meetings one after another, and the County Education Bureau was busy spinning around. Lu Fan personally went to the broadcast room, video surveillance room, student restaurant, exam halls, and other points to check the exam hall setup, exam-waiting management, service support, and other situations in detail, carefully escorting the process.

The entire county town was shrouded in the tense atmosphere of the college entrance exam, and everyone's eyes were focused here.

Those parents who hope their sons will become dragons and their daughters will become phoenixes were looking forward to it, full of expectations and hopes for this year's college entrance exam, longing for their children to achieve excellent results.

All these changes are attributed to the rapid improvement of Ningyang High School's teaching quality, giving everyone infinite room for imagination and opening a door to success for Ningyang's children.

Near the end of work, Admissions Office Director Yan Guangliang came to ask for instructions on the invigilation standards for this year.

Lu Fan instructed, "We are competing with the whole province; everything is for the children of Ningyang! The five candidates aiming for 'Qingbei' must be given key care; absolutely do not let them be disturbed in any way during the exam!"

Now, those five top students have become key protection objects and the hope of Lu Fan and the entire education system.

Just as Lu Fan was going all out to prepare for the college entrance exam, teacher Wang Hongtao made a earth-shattering move in Yinzhou!

Seeing these news, Lu Fan admired him to the ground, deeply convinced by his teacher's boldness and ability. One can imagine how much hard work the teacher put in during this process and how many dangers he encountered. Would those people just sit and wait for death?

In the evening, Lu Fan dialed Si Daiqiang's phone.

After connecting, a tired voice came from the phone, "Lu Fan, are you okay?"

"Brother Si, you guys in Yinzhou are really fierce!"

"That's for sure, you don't even look at whose handwriting this is!" Si Daiqiang said proudly, "These few days have exhausted me; I've been working continuously for five or six days, and today I can finally have a good sleep! But to be honest, this big show is truly wonderful; so many people were taken out in one pot, it's thrilling! It's a pity you kid didn't have the blessing to witness it with your own eyes, but I participated in the whole process!"

Hearing this, Lu Fan couldn't help but show an envious expression, "Brother Si, saying I'm not envious would definitely be a lie. Everything that happened in Yinzhou is fascinating; that is how refreshing it is. I really envy you for being able to follow Secretary Wang!" His tone was full of admiration and yearning.

Si Daiqiang laughed, "There will definitely be opportunities. Many counties, districts, and municipal units in Yinzhou are basically paralyzed after experiencing corruption cases and need a large number of cadres. When the leader was investigating, he said that he would support a group of people to take on heavy responsibilities and be promoted exceptionally. If you find the leader, maybe he can give you a Deputy Secretary, Executive Vice County Head, or something like that; at worst, he can get you into the Standing Committee."

Lu Fan shook his head firmly and said in a resolute tone, "I don't have the face to 'run for office and ask for an official position' in front of the Secretary! Brother Si, let's all work hard, take the Secretary as an example, chase the light and meet, bathe in the light and walk!"

"You kid, just wait, I will catch up with you soon and surpass you!"

Hanging up the phone, Lu Fan felt as if his whole body was full of strength, feeling a raging fire burning in his chest, nowhere to release, urgently wanting to build merit, enjoy the pleasure of gratitude and revenge, and sprinkle his own heroic ambitions!

He secretly told himself that no matter what difficulties and setbacks he encountered, he must learn from his teacher, not give up easily, and use his own practical actions to make everyone look at him with new eyes!
