Chapter 224: Creating Brilliance Again

June 24th was destined to be an extraordinary day for this year's college entrance examinees in Ningyang—the college entrance exam results were revealed today.

Countless expectations, endless waiting, and countless anxieties converged in front of computer monitors and on the other end of telephones, all just to check their exam scores a little earlier.

On this important day, Ningyang High School carefully planned and made detailed arrangements and deployments, aiming to obtain the college entrance exam scores of all students in the school as soon as possible.

Deputy County Chief Lu Fan arrived at the County High School full of anticipation and high spirits, wanting to witness the arrival of a miracle with his own eyes!

On campus, teachers busily shuttled between offices, waiting with students who had come to the school to check their results.

After 9 o'clock, the impatient County Party Committee Secretary Hu Chengwei also arrived at the school, wanting to know this year's college entrance exam results as soon as possible, because the Municipal Party Secretary was concerned about Ningyang's results.

Time ticked away, and everyone's mood became increasingly tense.

Finally, the system opened, and the results could be checked!

Teachers and students gathered in front of computers, entered their exam numbers, and stared intently at the screens.

Chinese 125, Math 141, English 131, Science Comprehensive 275, Total 672!

When the results of the number one seed player were displayed, the teachers in the entire office cheered and celebrated the birth of the highest score in Ningyang's history!

Hu Chengwei said with a full face of smiles, "Last year, the highest science score in the city seemed to be 682. This score can give it a shot!"

Lu Fan's face was also filled with joy, and he replied with a smile, "Secretary, according to the teachers' analysis, this year's questions were slightly harder than last year's, so the scores should be slightly lower. Being able to get this score is definitely among the best in the city!"

At this time, a teacher ran in and shouted excitedly, "Principal Lu, Li Yuan from our class scored 665!" The office boiled over again.

Zhang Shangjin kept saying "good," his eyes filled with tears, and he personally registered the scores.

Time passed slowly, and the results of the top students in each class were gradually revealed; the overall situation was good!

Some students cheered, while others were dejected. Lu Fan's mood also fluctuated with the announcement of the results.

By 12 o'clock, the results of 60% of the students in each class had been collected.

Lu Fan accompanied Hu Chengwei as he left the school. At this moment, the campus was filled with cheers and excited students; some hugged and teared up, while others screamed and ran.

At this moment, all the hard work had been rewarded, and the road to the future unfolded before them.

"Lu Fan, judging from the current situation, the scores have improved by a large margin compared to last year!" Hu Chengwei appeared satisfied.

Lu Fan said with a smile, "Secretary, behind these scores are the countless days and nights of hard work by the teachers and students! I estimate that our scores can rank in the top three among all high schools in the city!"

"That's good, we can give Secretary Mingzhou a satisfactory answer! Let's go, shall we go eat a bowl of mutton?"

"I'll listen to the Secretary!"

While eating, Hu Chengwei reminded, "Strike while the iron is hot, we can step up the creation of a provincial key and provincial demonstration high school. The County Party Committee will definitely go all out to support it. If we win these two honors, I will record a great merit for you!"

"Thank you for your support, Secretary. We have summarized the shortcomings and will strengthen the docking with higher-level departments next. However, at the critical moment, we need you to come forward to coordinate so we can have the confidence!"

"That's easy to say, I'm on call!"

Just after starting work in the afternoon, the Principal of the County High School came to Lu Fan's office and reported, "County Chief Lu, the scores of all senior students have been collected!"

Lu Fan hurriedly took the scorebook and began to flip through it. The expression on his face gradually changed from calm to excited, his eyes flashed with light, and the corners of his mouth rose involuntarily. The more he looked, the more overjoyed he became.

"Principal Zhang, Ningyang has been able to achieve such excellent results this year; you absolutely deserve the greatest credit and have worked hard! The people of the whole county should thank you!"

Facing Lu Fan's praise, Zhang Shangjin responded modestly, "County Chief Lu, you overpraise me. These results were achieved under your leadership and care!"

Lu Fan waved his hand and interrupted Zhang Shangjin's words with a smile, "Credit goes to whom it belongs. You are the principal of a school, and I have seen all the efforts and heart's blood you have put in. It is precisely because of educators like you who work silently and dedicate selflessly that our students can grow sturdily and achieve such excellent results. I will definitely ask for credit for you from the County Party Committee and County Government, and you must be heavily rewarded!"

Hearing Lu Fan's words, Zhang Shangjin felt very warm in his heart. He knew that everything he had done had been recognized by the leaders and all sectors of society, and the hardships and efforts of the past year had finally been rewarded!

The two looked at each other and smiled, the tacit understanding and trust between them self-evident.

After Zhang Shangjin left, Lu Fan immediately went to the County Head's office to report the good news of Ningyang's college entrance exam.

After seeing the results, County Head Bian Jide was also very excited and said, "A county being able to have a good high school is a great thing that benefits the people and has immeasurable merit! These results will be forever remembered in the hearts of the people of Ningyang! In the next step, we must firmly grasp the opportunity and actively promote the work process of creating a provincial key high school and a provincial demonstration high school. I will state my position first: the County Government will give full support in terms of funds!"

Lu Fan said, "County Head, Municipal Party Secretary Li has been paying attention to Ningyang's college entrance exam results. Tomorrow morning, the minimum control scores for each batch of admissions will be announced. By then, our admission rates for the first, second, and third tiers will be out. When do you think it is appropriate to report? Should we go to the Municipal Committee? Or report by phone?"

Bian Jide said thoughtfully, "The County Party Committee has been keeping an eye on the results. He has a lot of ideas; he wants to use this to claim credit!"

Lu Fan expressed his position without hesitation, "County Head, I will resolutely follow your instructions!"

"Did the Secretary ask you to go to the Municipal Committee with him tomorrow?"

"Secretary Hu has been at the High School all morning today and said he would let me go with him to the Municipal Committee tomorrow to report the college entrance exam results."

"Hmm, how about this: after the results are summarized tomorrow, you send a copy to my mobile phone. I will report to Secretary Mingzhou over the phone and won't go to steal his spotlight!"

"Okay, County Head, I will send it to you as soon as possible."

At this moment, the streets and alleys of Ningyang were talking about this year's college entrance exam results. Countless parents whose children had achieved good results could not suppress their excited hearts and came out to show off the excellent results their children had achieved.

In the afternoon, the grandpas and grandmas in the stadium didn't even dance their square dances; they gathered there to show off!

"My grandson scored over 600 points. If it were in the past, he would be our Ningyang's top scholar!"

"Forget it, Old Li, Old Liu's grandson scored 635. I heard he can get into Xi'an Jiaotong University!"

"Oh my, that's really good! My granddaughter scored 575 and can give the Normal University a shot!"

"I heard that there are countless people who scored over 500 this year. Our Ningyang High School is awesome!"

"Yes, it did well last year, and it did even better this year. It's really 'sesame flowers blooming, rising step by step.' My grandson goes to our high school; the teaching quality is good, and it's close to home!"

"Thanks to that young County Chief, who is also serving as the Director of the Education Bureau. As the old saying goes, 'changing people is like changing knives.' In just two years, he has grasped the quality of education in Ningyang. This leader is really well-used!"

"Are you talking about County Chief Lu? He's really good; he attaches great importance to education. And look, the atmosphere in all schools has improved in the past two years. I've basically never heard of any scandals involving principals or teachers."

"Hey, it seems that's true! But that's good too. Schools are places for teaching and educating people. If the body is upright, it serves as a model. If teachers mess around, what kind of good students can they teach?"

"You don't know, County Chief Lu has zero tolerance for 'visiting around' (affairs). He took down several lecherous people, so they don't dare to 'mess around' anymore!"

With the fermentation of the college entrance exam results, Lu Fan's name gradually spread throughout the county and was widely praised!

June 25th, 12:00, the Provincial Admissions Office held a press conference to release the minimum control scores for each batch of admissions for the 2015 National General College Admissions in Qinchuan Province through Qinchuan Channel 1 Noon News, Qinchuan Radio News, Qinchuan Admissions Exam Information Network, and the official Weibo and WeChat of Qinchuan Exam Admissions.

Science Tier 1: 480 points; Tier 2: 440 points; Tier 3: 350 points.

Liberal Arts Tier 1: 510 points; Tier 2: 467 points; Tier 3: 382 points.

The High School summarized the admission rates for each batch in less than five minutes. When the results were presented before their eyes, the collective office boiled over, and the cheers resounded through the clouds, as if they were going to break through the roof!

The teachers were extremely excited, tears flashing in their eyes. They hugged and congratulated each other, their faces filled with unhideable joy and relief.

At this moment, all the hard work had been rewarded, and the year of day-and-night struggle and fighting had finally drawn a perfect period!

Lu Fan received this heavy report card for the first time: 430 people reached the Tier 1 line, 765 people reached the Tier 2 line, and 321 people reached the Tier 3 line. Among them, Senior Class (1) and (2) all reached the Tier 1 line!

Ningyang High School had once again created brilliance and achieved amazing, incomparable historical results!

Lu Fan instructed Zhang Shangjin to write a report of good news as soon as possible to report the good news to the people of the whole county!

Soon, County Party Committee Secretary Hu Chengwei's call came, asking about the summary of the results.

Lu Fan stated that the High School was working intensely and would send the report in at most half an hour.

But at this time, the report card was already on County Head Bian Jide's desk. ===== CHAPTER 225 =====
